  • Approach to quality improvement using classification methods

    ǂThe ǂaim of the paper is to foster the advanced methods dealing with multi-variable issues that can improve quality related operations picture. The classification methods as handled here are ... complementary to traditional ones for statistical quality control in manufacturing. The combination of three methods, namely clustering analysis, discriminant analysis and induction of decision trees, is proposed and demonstrated in the case study. Their potential usage is in quality control applications for manufacturing of discrete complex products where single characteristic approach does not give the adequate justification. More efficient inspection scheme as well as refined process improvement in terms of better design and manufacturing technology can be achieved.
