  • Description of rheological properties of paints with empirical methods
Leskovšek, Nevenka ; Tušar, Marjan ; Tušar, Livija
The purpose of this work was a study of differences between model and inverse model. The study is based on an optimisation of rheological and mechanical properties of paint. The procedure for ... obtaining models was as follows: selection of factors and responses, selection of the adequate experimental design, measurements of responses, modelling with polynomials and neural networks, and evaluation of results. Linear regression was used for obtaining polynomial models and back propagation algorithm for neural models. The inverse polynomial and neural models were also obtained and evaluated. If certain properties are requsted and the inverse model is not aviable, the most proper simulated values of factors can be obtained from direct models only by reserach. The overall quality of inverse model depends on the distribution of experimental responses used for modelling.
