  • On non-linear static and dynamic thyn shell analysis
    Damjanić, Frano
Some aspects of continuum formulation for the geometrically non-linear dynamic of elastic thin shells and its temporal discretisation are very briefly presented (At the moment, an elasto-plastic ... constitutive model based on the von Mises yield criterion and isotropic hardening is incorporated in the static analysis only). The dynamic model follows the principlčes of the first-order shear deformation large rotation shell theories. Temporal discretisation of the weak form of the equations of motion is performed using an implicit numerical time-integration scheme. In fact, an algorithm, which may be regarded as a special form of the mid-point rule, is employed. It preserves the fundamental constants of the autonomous motion: the total linear and angular momentum as well as, for a Hamiltonian case, the total energy. The performance of the model is illustrated with selected results of numerical examples
