Dark tourism is a special form of tourism that involves travelling to places associated with death, violence, as well as various types of disasters and catastrophes. The paper defines dark tourism and - based on an analysis of literature and fieldwork, which contains the method of unstructured interviews - identifies dark stories from various cemeteries in the municipalities of Brežice and Krško, describes them and, depending on their content, explores whether they have potential for the development of dark tourism.
