Falling must have seemed intriguing for them as something in its pure eventfulness that can boast a truly irreversible time lapse, just as Alan Kaprow would argue concerning a Happening -- it is not portable in space and is not reproducible in time. The suspension between resistance and letting go made this small action interesting enough to make it an artistic event in itself.
