An analysis of Cabezón's music will show the compositional strategies of the Burgos-native master compared to the polyphonic model of Verdelot. The analysis includes other settings, such as the polyphonic madrigal of Parabosco and the arrangements for lute of Vincenzo Galilei and Valentin Bakfark.
