The present ideology of European integration & the Slovene approximation to this ideology returns Slovenia to its earlier history of a nonsovereign existence in the heart of Europe. It is argued here that ethnocide shall remain Slovenia's destiny if sovereignty is not preserved. The European Union is a centralized superstate formation managed by European plutocracy through the bureaucracy of European institutions. Certain aspects of neoliberal ideology, eg, gradual termination of national states, are one of the priorities of European integration. It is contended that Europe shall only constitute a successful project as a confederation of its nations, & that the entities of this confederation can only be sovereign nations or their states. Criticism of current European integration does not constitute opposition to the integration of Slovenia into Europe, but rather of the method of integration. 5 References.
