    The study examines the main characteristics of training for public employees excluded from the primary labour market in the period 2016–2020. The study also included an analysis of the number of participants by gender, age group, educational attainment and their subsequent successful employment in the labour market. Public employment is a transitional measure designed to help people who have been excluded from the world of work back into it. Training courses for public employees have been set up with the same aim, to get trainees into work as quickly as possible by learning a new profession. The results show large spatial and regional differences, and it can be said that training is concentrated in the regions (mainly in the eastern regions) where it is most needed. On the whole, however, the training did not achieve the desired result, as the public employees who successfully completed the training either became unemployed 6 months after the training or could only find a new job in the secondary labour market, i.e. as public employees.
