In this study, the irrigation water management of water-scarce schemes located in Lower Great Menderes Basin is investigated. The long-term average irrigation water use data of the irrigation schemes of the basin is compared with the irrigation plan prepared regarding the water budget for water-scarce period (2008) and the extent of the actualization of the irrigation plan. The water scarcity levels were determined according to the required, planned and actualized values in the irrigation schemes of the basin. The overall water scarcity rate for the basin is found to be 42,49% for the investigation year 2008. The ratio of actualized to the planned, and the planned to the required water were found to be 109,67 and 38,74%, respectively. The ratio of actualized to the required water in the schemes range from 31,87 to 60,90%. Also, the reservoir operation scenarios were set in order to determine the water amount to be released from the dams regarding the general irrigation plans. Bu çalışmada, su eksikliği çekilen Aşağı Büyük Menderes havzası sulama şebekelerinde sulama suyu yönetiminin nasıl olması gerektiği araştırılmıştır. Havza sulama şebekelerinde uzun yıllar kullanımı gerçekleşen ortalama sulama suyu miktarı, su eksikliği çekilen süreçte (2008 yılı) su bütçesine göre hazırlanan havza sulama şebekeleri su dağıtım planı ve hazırlanan planın gerçekleşme oranları karşılaştırılmıştır. Sulama şebekelerinde gereksinim duyulan, planlanan ve gerçekleşen değerlere göre su eksiklik oranları belirlenmiştir. İncelenen 2008 yılı için havza genelinde sulama suyu eksiklik oranı %42,49; gerçekleşenin, planlanan su miktarına oranı ise %109,67 olarak hesaplanmıştır. Havza sulama şebekeleri genelinde planlanan su miktarının, gereksinim duyulan su miktarına oranı %38,74 dür. Havza sulama şebekelerinde gerçekleşen su miktarının, gereksinim duyulan su miktarına oranı %31,87 ile %60,90 arasında değişmektedir. Ayrıca, su depolama tesislerinden su dağıtım planına göre bırakılacak su miktarını belirleyen baraj işletme senaryoları ortaya konmuştur.
