A letter by Emmanuel Levinas to Maurice Blanchot commenting on the creation of the state of Israel is presented. Levinas talks about his contradictory thoughts regarding this matter and reveals that the thirst for ministers, ambassadors, functionaries, the military who will finally have their protocols, their bailiffs, their decorations, their honors; and with all that they will make a politics that had nothing but its liturgy to wait for.
