Public roads are usually the largest single item at assets held by public authorities. The main goal in its management is inexpensive and good quality transport, traffic safety, acceptable level of ...environmental impacts; assurance of accessibility. This goals can be altained with road maintenance and investment. In doing so one needs to consider existing legislative framework and budget constraints. Basis for any management process is data. In the context of road management we are specialy interested in data input and output from road management system. The text includes three case study. First case study deals with data collection. In the second case calculation of routine maintenance is presented. The third case is presenting cost estimation for road reconstruction.
