Modern financial markets are characterised by the volatility of prices and returns and a growing volume of trading. Companies must accept commercial risks, while others risks should be reduced or ... increased. Financial markets punish poor performance more than they reward good performance. Several sources of financial risks exist and the interest rate represents an important component. Companies and institutions have several methods and types of instruments at their disposal, including interest rate options.
