    The work studies modelling of solenoid valves found in adaptive automotive dampers. An overview of the automotive dampers history focused on adaptive hydraulic dampers is also presented in the work. ... Different modelling possibilities for solenoid valves with a constant and non-constant air gap with the corresponding knowledge about magnetic fields are described. Finite elements method is then used for magnetic field simulation in a sample solenoid valve. Results give an accurate match to a real valve measurements. Magneto-mechanical model is then built and some design improvements for faster opening and closing times of the valve are suggested.
