Concrete with high content of admixture is effective in reducing the stress-strength ratio because of the low heat generation associated with the hydration reaction. However, concrete with high ...content of admixture is out of the scope of general stress-strength ratio estimation formulas. Therefore, the authors conducted an analytical study and developed a stress-strength ratio estimation formulas for concrete with high content of admixture. Case studies using this estimation formula showed that the estimated values can be evaluated safer than the analytical values, and that concrete with high content of admixture is more applicable to massive concrete.
Most underground retaining walls are constructed from massive concrete, which causes thermal cracks to appear in wall due to heat generation. Crack control joints are generally used as ...countermeasures to prevent cracking, but they necessitate section loss rates of approximately 20% -30% of a wall’s diameter. The authors developed a new crack-control joint, installed only in the surface region where tensile stress is caused by the temperature differential between the inner and outer layers of massive concrete. Temperature stress analysis confirmed that tensile stress was concentrated in the experimental crack-control joint. In field application to walls at a construction site, cracking was not observed anywhere other than the installation location of the experimental crack-control joint.
This technique worked on development of technology to prevent the cracking occurs also in refurbishment layer of cracking the top by aging, in the case of adopting the pin net method on the outer ...wall that occurred through cracks. By typing an anchor pin in through cracks part, it was tried to reduce the cracking of the repair layer because of controlling the crack behavior of concrete. Experiment was performed from strength and energy absorption of the specification by the bending test of a small specimen. As a result, to type the T-forked anchor pin into the through cracks section revealed that can be expected to improve the adhesive strength at the crack and the flexibility to warping of the wall.
