This survey verifies the application of the milk sheep payment sistem applied by Cooperativa Agricola "Il Forteto", located in Vicchio del Mugello (FI), in relation to milk qualitative profile of the ...milk confered by the associates during the year, which constitute a representative quantity of the sheep milk produced in Tuscany. Moreover, it intends to stimulate alla the operators who work in this field to establish a payment sistem in order to improve the composition of the sheep milk
Il presente lavoro verifica l'applicazione del sistema di pagamento del latte ovino praticato dalla Cooperativa "Il Forteto" sita in Vicchio del Mugello (FI), in funzione del profilo qualitativo del latte conferito dai soci nei vari mesi dell'anno e che costituisce un quantitativo rappresentativo del latte ovino prodotto in Toscana. Inoltre, lo stesso vuole fungere da sprone per gli addetti ai lavori, affinche' si dia avvio, per il tramite di sistemi di pagamento a cio' finalizzati, ad una serie di incentivi alla produzione di latte di qualita' anche in campo ovino

I risultati conseguiti mostrano i potenziali vantaggi in termini di miglioramento delle produzioni degli incroci FMl rispetto alle pecore di razza Massese
The study has interested 85 farms whose milk is given to the cooperative farming "Il Forteto" for the transformation into derivates. The main purpose has been that of pointing out if the conferment ...of sheep milk to the transformation industries has a seasonal character, in spite of a payment system which provides for an economical incentive in favour of the de-seasoning production. Some instruments are suggested in order to favour a greater correspondance during the year, between the supply and the demand of the sheep milk
Lo studio ha interessato 85 aziende il cui latte viene conferito per la trasformazione in derivati alla Cooperativa Agricola "Il Forteto". Lo scopo principale e' stato quello di evidenziare se il conferimento di latte ovino alle industrie di trasformazione abbia carattere stagionale, nonostante un sistema di pagamento che prevede un incentivo economico a favore della destagionalizzazione della produzione. Vengono suggeriti alcuni strumenti per favorire una maggiore aderenza nel corso dell'anno tra domanda e offerta di latte ovino
Astrophys.J.545:271-276,2004 We report near-infrared and optical follow-up observations of the afterglow
of the Gamma-Ray Burst 000418 starting 2.5 days after the occurrence of the
burst and ...extending over nearly seven weeks. GRB 000418 represents the second
case for which the afterglow was initially identified by observations in the
near-infrared. During the first 10 days its R-band afterglow was well
characterized by a single power-law decay with a slope of 0.86. However, at
later times the temporal evolution of the afterglow flattens with respect to a
simple power-law decay. Attributing this to an underlying host galaxy we find
its magnitude to be R=23.9 and an intrinsic afterglow decay slope of 1.22. The
afterglow was very red with R-K=4 mag. The observations can be explained by an
adiabatic, spherical fireball solution and a heavy reddening due to dust
extinction in the host galaxy. This supports the picture that (long) bursts are
associated with events in star-forming regions.
AMADEUS is a dexterous subsea robot hand incorporating force and slip contact sensing, using fluid filled tentacles for fingers. Hydraulic pressure variations in each of three flexible tubes ...(bellows) in each finger create a bending moment, and consequent motion or increase in contact force during grasping. Such fingers have inherent passive compliance, no moving parts, and are naturally depth pressure-compensated, making them ideal for reliable use in the deep ocean. In addition to the mechanical design, development of the hand has also considered closed loop finger position and force control, coordinated finger motion for grasping, force and slip sensor development/signal processing, and reactive world modeling/planning for supervisory `blind grasping¿. Initially, the application focus is for marine science tasks, but broader roles in offshore oil and gas, salvage, and military use are foreseen. Phase I of the project is complete, with the construction of a first prototype. Phase I1 is now underway, to deploy the hand from an underwater robot arm, and carry out wet trials with users.

In this retrospective multicentric study, we report on early deaths (ie, those that occurred during the first month of treatment) in a total of 943 newly diagnosed ALL pediatric patients registered ...from 1976 to 1981 at 21 centers of the AIL- AIEOP . Objectives of this study were as follows: (1) to verify the incidence and the cause of early death in a wide population of children with ALL and (2) to elucidate factors associated with early death and therefore to identify "high-risk" groups of patients. Out of the 943 ALL patients, 39 (4.1%) early deaths were registered. Main causes were infection, 20 patients (51.3%); hemorrhage, 11 patients (28.3%); uric acid nephropathy, 2 patients (5.1%); cardiac failure, 3 patients (7.6%); syndrome of inappropriate antidiuretic hormone secretion, 1 patient. Two patients died during the first week of unknown cause. Thirteen factors measured at diagnosis and possibly influencing the early death rate were analyzed. Using the chi-square test, only three of these factors (age, mediastinum status, surface markers) appear to have any significant influence on the early death rate. We also tried to determine how therapy influences this process by analyzing variations in the early death rate, other factors being equal. Significant differences in the early death rates were encountered in AIEOP protocols using different induction regimens.

Chirurgia della base del cranio laterale: 50 anni di impegno.RIASSUNTOLa base del cranio non è anatomicamente divisa in anteriore e laterale, ma è per semplicità che comunemente si intendono i ...corridoi chirurgici con direzione antero-laterale, laterale pura e postero laterale come “Approcci chirurgici della base del cranio laterale”. Una relazione con titolo “Cinquant’anni di impegno”, di sforzo o di dedizione, vuole essere il riconoscimento a questa chirurgia che nel corso degli anni ha sviluppato interventi sempre più complessi con una morbidità sempre minore. Il principio della chirurgia della base del cranio laterale si fonda sulla possibilità di “fare spazio”, esporre adeguatamente, rimuovere osso per salvaguardare il cervello, insieme alla possibilità di preservare la funzione e adattare l’approccio chirurgico all’istologia della lesione. Il concetto che l’istologia detta l’entità della resezione chirurgica, bilanciando la morbidità intrinseca di ciascun approccio, è oggetto di trattazione nella prima sezione di questa relazione. Nella seconda sezione sono descritti i principali approcci chirurgici, intesi non come descrizione tecnica di ciascun tempo chirurgico, ma dei principi che sono alla base di ciascun approccio. La terza sezione è dedicata alle questioni aperte, quelle ancora irrisolte, inerenti alcuni tumori ed il loro trattamento. L’argomento del neurinoma sporadico dell’ottavo nervo cranico è trattato riportando l'attuale dibattito sulla osservazione, la chirurgia di preservazione dell’udito, la riabilitazione con l’impianto cocleare, la radioterapia e le ricerche recenti su marcatori tumorali predittivi di crescita. Il paraganglioma del forame giugulare è trattato nel contesto della chirurgia radicale, chirurgia parziale, osservazione e radioterapia. La terapia dei meningiomi della base del cranio analizza il punto di vista specifico dell’otochirurgo e del neurochirurgo. Cordomi e condrosarcomi, tumori del sacco endolinfatico, carcinomi dell’orecchio e colesteatoma della rocca sono le altre lesioni affrontate. Infine, nella quarta sezione è proposto un contributo a libera scelta ad autori di riconosciuta esperienza. Lo scopo di questa relazione è stato quello di fornire un aggiornamento della chirurgia della base del cranio laterale dopo 50 anni di duro lavoro e, o forse soprattutto, di permettere alle tante questioni irrisolte, alle domande che ancora non hanno risposta, di trovare espressione, affinchè il dibattito ed il progresso possano continuare con la condivisione di esperienze. Se al termine della lettura vi saranno più domande che risposte, potremo dirci che l’obiettivo di questa relazione è stato raggiunto.
