We consider the production of excited electrons with spin-1/2 at future SPPC-based electron–proton colliders with center-of-mass energies of 8.4, 11.6, 26.6, and 36.8 TeV. These exotic particles are ...predicted in the composite models. We calculate the production cross sections and concentrate on the photon decay channel of the excited electrons with the process of ep → e
∗
X → eγX. The pseudo rapidity and transverse momentum distributions of the electrons and photons in the final state have been plotted to determine the kinematical cutoffs best suited for discovery of the excited electrons. By applying these cutoffs we compute 2σ, 3σ, and 5σ contour plots of the statistical significance of the expected signal in the parameter space (L, m
∗
), where L denotes the integrated luminosity of the collider and m
∗
is the mass of the composite electrons.
The production potential of the excited neutrinos at the FCC-based electron-hadron colliders, namely, the ERL60⊗FCC with s=3.46 TeV, the ILC⊗FCC with s=10 TeV, and the PWFA-LC⊗FCC with s=31.6 TeV, ...has been analyzed. The branching ratios of the excited neutrinos have been calculated for the different decay channels and shown that the dominant channel is ν⋆→eW+. We have calculated the production cross sections with the process of ep→ν⋆q→eW+q and the decay widths of the excited neutrinos with the process of ν⋆→eW+. The signals and corresponding backgrounds are studied in detail to obtain accessible mass limits. It is shown that the discovery limits obtained on the mass of the excited neutrino are 2452 GeV for Lint=100 fb-1, 5635 GeV for Lint=10 fb-1 (6460 GeV for Lint=100 fb-1), and 10200 GeV for Lint=1 fb-1 (13960 GeV for Lint=10 fb-1), for the center-of-mass energies of 3.46, 10, and 31.6 TeV, respectively.
We study the excited muon production at the FCC-based muon-hadron colliders. We give the excited muon decay widths and production cross-sections. We deal with the μp→μ⋆q→μγq process and plot the ...transverse momentum and normalized pseudorapidity distributions of final state particles to define the kinematical cuts best suited for discovery. By using these cuts, we get the mass limits for excited muons. It is shown that the discovery limits obtained on the mass of μ⋆ are 2.2, 5.8, and 7.5 TeV for muon energies of 63, 750, and 1500 GeV, respectively.
A hollow waveguide slot array antenna with a total of 338x106.5x28.9 mm3 is proposed as a sensor for radar applications at K-band. The proposed antenna consists of a radiating slot plate with 8x32 ...slots, a middle plate with 64 cavities and apertures, and a full-corporate-feeding network. The antenna is fabricated with these three parts in which the sub-array feeding technique is employed. The proposed antenna is designed for millimeter-wave short-range radar applications. For this purpose, the antenna radiates and achieves reasonable gain values between 23.72–25.30 GHz frequencies with 6.45% bandwidth. The measurement directivity is 32.1 dBi, and the realized gain of the antenna is measured as 30.83 dBi at 24.5 GHz center frequency with 74.8% total efficiency. The antenna achieves high gain and efficiency with straightforward fabrication. Although there are some fabrication errors and connector losses, antenna measurements are obtained sufficiently consistent with simulations.
There are controversies regarding the most effective surface treatment method to be applied for the effective repair of resin composites.
This study aimed to compare the effects of surface roughening ...processes on repair bond strength of different types of aged composites. Water aging was applied to 60 nanohybrid and 60 micro-hybrid resin composite samples for 1 year. Samples were randomly divided into five groups and four types of roughening processes. Bur, OPTIDISC, SUPERSNAP, and BISCO were applied to the water-aged resin composite samples. Micro-shear test method was used to measure the repair bond strength.
Data were analyzed with IBM SPSS V23. Compliance with normal distribution was examined by Kolmogorov-Smirnov test. Two-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Tukey HSD test for multiple comparisons were used.
The main effect of the type of resin composites and surface roughening methods were found to be significantly different. The MPa values of surface roughening groups were similar while the lowest mean value was obtained for the untreated group of the nanohybrid resin composite (P < 0.001). The bond strength for both resin composites was generally considered within acceptable limits except for no treatment group of nanohybrid resin composite.
This study showed that surface roughening method is mandatory for effective bond strength and the type of fillers in resin composite affects the micro-shear bond strength.
This short note reports the first record of the tomato leaf miner Tuta absoluta Meyrick (Lepidoptera: Gelechiidae) in Kyrgyzstan. This pest was found in February 2017 in greenhouses producing ...tomatoes, located 15 km from Bishkek. Identification of the pest was carried out in the Plant Protection Department, Çukurova University, Turkey based on the morphology of adults and larvae and the male genitalia. According to initial surveys this pest could be a major threat to tomato production in Kyrgyzstan.
