Leisure time, as the time used to engage in a variety of activities, should provide a sense of satisfaction and relaxation. In order to satisfy the needs of the visitors and their desire to ...experience something new and authentic in tourist destination, it is very important to know what their choices are with regard to leisure activities. The aim of this paper is to determine how museum public usually spends its leisure time, which factors influence the motivation to visit museums, and to try to find a correlation between the two. The paper is based on the results of the study conducted between the end of May and the end of August, 2014 in the museums in Vojvodina Province (northern part of the Republic of Serbia). The main findings of this paper indicate that spending leisure time is primarily related to socialization and education, and that museums are visited mostly due to their educational role. The findings also indicate that there are differences between the choice of leisure activity and motivation for visiting museums and sociodemographic characteristics of the respondents. Significant correlation has been found between the choice of leisure activity and motivation for visiting museums.
One of the key development goals of the EU regional policy is the development of the less developed regions and the enhancement of the cooperation with symmetrical cross-border regions, including the ...possibility of cooperation at the EU's external borders. Serbia belongs to this category, and the current cross-border cooperational contacts in the border regions with the EU member states are mainly successful. The purpose of this study is to present the development documents that address the topic of tourism in the Tisza Region, a cross-border region of Serbia and Hungary, at the level of national, regional and local development documents in Hungary and Serbia, as well as according to international projects that focus in the complementary tourism sectors and joint activities in the region. The main research results show that the analyzed strategic documents point to similar and competitive guidelines for the development of tourism in the neighbouring Tisza Regions of Hungary and Serbia in terms of their content. It has been found that the focus is on the individual tourist motives in the cross-border region, but also that there are development processes that are coordinately implemented owing to the regional and rural policy and the EU assistance, on the one hand, and the open borders that allow free communication throughout the entire region, on the other.
This paper discusses the methodological procedures of application of teaching aids through the subjects: World around us, Nature and Society and Geography, as well as an adequate choice of teaching ...resources that encourage students to earn a permanent knowledge. The idea is to use teaching aids in active teaching and to turn it into the practical use of the material, in order to efficiently adopt the fundamental knowledge about the nature of science in the classroom teaching. The procedures are identified, which are especially important from the point of maximum achievements in teaching the use of teaching aids, and especially significant for subjects the World around us, Nature and Society and Geography. The aim of this study was to determine the importance of teaching aids in active teaching, as well as whether the student becomes mentally active participant in the educational process using teaching aids. The study involved class teachers (154) who evaluated the importance of teaching resources for permanent adoption of knowledge of students. In addition, the survey was analyzed and different types of learning resources in terms of their values in the activation of thinking in students were analyzed as well. This survey has confirmed the hypothesis about the importance of teaching aids for thoughtful activation of the students.
Nowadays, people are paying more attention to spending their leisure time, primarily due to the fact that number, type and importance of various activities increased. Due to variety of activities, ...tourism demand became more sophisticated. Also, new human needs are constantly developing and people are seeking the new ways to satisfy them. Some of these needs cannot be satisfied in the place of the residence, which is one of the reasons for increased number of travels, in conditions when people have more time and funds available for this purpose. Ski centers represent a popular type of destinations for spending the leisure time. This survey was conducted during the winter season 2014/2015 (December–April) at Kopaonik, the largest ski resort and one of the most important destinations in Serbia. Survey covered a sample of 200 respondents. Subject of the research is tourists’ leisure time within the ski centre as a specific destination, with aim of improving Kopaonik’s offer and its tourism facilities in accordance with available potentials for tourism development. Collected data were analyzed in SPSS (17.0). This program was used for determination of the frequency of respondents’ answers and their distribution by using the descriptive statistics, cross-tabulations of variables, while hypotheses are tested by determination of Phi coefficient of correlation. Results provide an insight into the socio-demographic profile of the respondents, the way they spend their leisure time at Kopaonik, which could serve as a basis for improving the offer of tourism facilities represented at this popular destination in Serbia.
A geography teacher is a professional person who conducts the teaching process in accordance with the standards and procedures of the teacher’s call. It is necessary for a teacher to possess ...knowledge in the psychological, pedagogical, and sociological domains because he/she often plays the role of a homeroom teacher as well. The role of teachers is to adapt the teaching content to students’ intellectual abilities by applying diverse methods, didactic principles, and teaching resources. The aim of the paper is to provide ways, through research and analysis, how to manage school documentation and the role of a geography and homeroom teacher in elementary schools. The methods used in the preparation of the paper are: analytical, synthetic, descriptive, comparative, statistical, graphic, and critical. The work was written on the basis of the data obtained from the survey conducted among teachers. The research was conducted among teachers working in urban and rural areas, with different places of employment, and with different work experience. One of the aims of the research was to determine if there were similarities and differences between the answers of the homeroom teachers and geography teachers.
This article offers an ethnographic exploration of the Vlachs in the Branicevo region of Serbia. The Vlachs rarely exist anywhere as a distinct ethnic group due to their permanent assimilation with ...other ethnic groups. The thing that has always been linked to the folklore of the Vlachs and still attracts a large number of people to come and visit some remote parts of Eastern Serbia is definitely a certain mystery which represents the essential part of the culture of this nation. Instances of Vlach magic can be seen in the Timok area, all over Eastern Serbia and across its borders. Vlach magic is a miracle or is miraculous, when looking at how long it has been present, its unique rituals, beliefs, shamans and spells. Vlach culture intertwined with pagan customs and interesting rituals, makes the municipalities in Eastern Serbia mysterious places in modern 21st century Europe, because the Vlachs are a mostly closed (endogamous) population which do not blend with people of other nationalities.
