′-ethylene bis-stearamide (EBS) and a commercial nucleating agent NT-20) and the plasticizer (poly(ethylene glycol), PEG) on the ...melting and crystallization behaviors of poly(lactic acid) (PLA) was investigated by means of differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The Jeziorny’s, Ozawa’s and Mo’s models were used to describe the non-isothermal cold and melt crystallization kinetics of the modified PLA samples. The non-isothermal cold and melt crystallization activation energies were evaluated by Kissinger’s method and Friedman’s method, respectively. The results show that the non-isothermal cold and melt crystallization kinetics of the samples are successfully analyzed by Jeziorny’s and Mo’s models, whereas Ozawa’s model is only suitable for the non-isothermal melt crystallization kinetics of PLA/talc sample. It is shown that the combination of one nucleating agent and PEG results in the synergistic effect on the cold and melting crystallization rates of PLA. Moreover, the combination of dual nucleating agents and PEG improves the cold crystallization rate but hinders the melt crystallization rate. It is indicated that dual nucleating agents act as physical hindrance to the molecular chain movement of PLA which results in the increases in the cold and melt crystallization activation energies.
In this paper, we first preprocess the English-translated text to extract the statistical features of Chinese culture in the translated text using the TF-IDF model as well as the semantic features of ...Chinese culture using the Word2Vec model. Then, the Chinese cultural contents in English audio, text and video are extracted respectively, and the best way to integrate Chinese culture into English translation is analyzed through feature fusion. Based on the concept of multimodal teaching, a multifaceted teaching model of English translation incorporating Chinese culture was constructed, and the effect of the teaching model was evaluated through the dimensions of students’ performance, Chinese culture awareness, and teaching feedback. The results show that after multimodal teaching sig.=0.03<0.5, the difference in achievement is 8.1 from that before teaching. The average score of students’ Chinese cultural awareness is basically above 80, the maximum value is in the range of 90-96, and the minimum value is also near 80, which indicates that the multimodal English translation teaching with integration of Chinese culture can effectively improve the students’ responsiveness and cultural awareness level.
Polybutylene succinate (PBS)/soy protein isolate (SPI) bio-composites were “in situ” compatibilized with addition of dibenzoyl peroxide (BPO) and polyethylene glycol (400) diacrylate (PEG400DA) by ...melt processing. The microstructures and various properties of the uncompatibilized and compatibilized bio-composites were investigated thoroughly. The increased tensile strength and water resistance of the compatibilized composites were ascribed to the improved compatibility and enhanced adhesion in the composites. The results of Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), Soxhlet extraction experiments, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and dynamic mechanical analyses (DMA) revealed the presence of the “in situ” graft copolymer (SPI-g-PEG400DA-g-PBS), which strengthened interfaces between PBS matrix and SPI domain. The “in situ” graft copolymer improved the hydrophobicity and thermal stability of the composites. Moreover, it also augmented the entanglements between the phases and increased viscosity and elasticity of the melt. Furthermore, the crystallinity of the composites was also increased by the grafts. However, the crystal structure of PBS was not modified in the bio-composites.

with three color types of flowers (Janie Yellow Bright, Jinmen Orange, Shouyao Red and Yellow color) were established by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Ten different batches of stems and leaves were examined as follow: Shouyao Red and Yellow color (1, 2, 3), Janie Yellow Bright (4, 5, 6, 7) and Jinmen Orange (8, 9, 10). Twenty-two common peaks were identified with similarity values ranging from 0.910 to 0.977. Meanwhile, the average peak area of SLT in the three types of flowers was different and it was the highest in Janie Yellow Bright.

, which showed the potential challenges to achieve the removal of Th and rare earth and the recovery of LiCl–KCl salt in the actual process. It is expected that the combination of precipitation and distillation method can improve to efficiently recover the LiCl–KCl mixed salt.
Poly(butylene succinate) (PBS)/soy protein isolate (SPI) bio-composites were reactive compatibilized by adding dibenzoyl peroxide (BPO) and hexanediol diacrylate (HDDA) via melt blending in an ...internal mixer. The structure and properties of composites were studied by scanning electron microscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, dynamic mechanical analyses, rheological tests, contact angle measurements, thermogravimetric analyses, differential scanning calorimetry, wide-angle X-ray diffraction, tensile tests and water absorption tests. The results showed that a branched graft copolymer (SPI-g-HDDA-g-PBS) was produced with the aid of BPO and HDDA via melt blending, which served as a compatibilizer. It improved the compatibility and enhanced the adhesion between PBS matrix and SPI phase by forming a network structure in the composites. The grafts contents in the composites were determined by Soxhlet extraction. The crystal structure of PBS was not changed in the composites. The melt viscosity and elasticity, hydrophobicity, thermal stability and crystallinity of PBS/SPI-HDDA/BPO composites were improved. The tensile strength and Young’s modulus increased 46% and 55%, while the water absorption decreased ~ 20% for PBS/SPI-HDDA/SPI (80/20/0.1) composite in comparison with PBS/SPI (80/20) composite. The potential usage of the bio-composites is household and industrial products and disposable packaging and items.
Polylactide (PLA)/poly(butylene adipate-co-terephthalate) (PBAT)/bark flour of plane tree (PF) eco-composites were prepared via melt blending. The morphologies, mechanical properties, crystal ...structures and melting and crystallization behaviors of the eco-composites were investigated by means of scanning electron microscopy (SEM), mechanical tests, polarized light microscopy (PLM), wide angle X-ray diffraction (WAXD) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), respectively. It is shown that the interfacial adhesion between PLA matrix and PF is weak and the mechanical properties of PLA/PF eco-composites are poor. The titanate treatment improves the adhesion between the matrix and the filler and enhances the stiffness of the eco-composites. The toughness is improved by PBAT and ductile fractured surfaces can be found. The spherulitic size of PLA is decreased by the addition of PF. The α crystalline form of PLA remains in the composites. Compared with PF, T-PF (PF treated by a titanate coupling agent) and PBAT have negative effects on the crystallization of PLA.
To elucidate the medicinal nature of black ginseng (BG) by comparison of the effects of four Chinese herbs with different medicinal natures on the deficiency-heat syndrome rat model which was ...established by intragastric administration of traditional Chinese drugs with hot nature, the appearance indexes, biochemical indexes, and pathological sections of thyroid and stomach were examined. In addition, the seven short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) in rat feces were also determined by headspace gas chromatography-mass spectrometry to reveal the action mechanism of the drugs with different natures. Results indicated that all the 4 drugs could exhibit similar actions in regulating the biochemical indexes of triiodothyronine (T3), thyroxine (T4), thyrotropin-releasing hormone (TRH), thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), and corticosterone (CORT) representing the hypothalamus-pituitary-thyroid (HPT) and hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axes of the animal. However, cold-natured cortex phellodendri (HB) and ginseng leaves (GLs) showed stronger downregulation of the AChE activity of the nervous system. Red ginseng (RG) and BG tested exhibited stronger upregulation of the liver Na+-K+-ATPase activity. Principal component analysis (PCA) showed that GLs are similar to those of HB which belongs to the cold-nature drug, whereas BG showed closer to RG which attributes to a warm-nature drug. Thus, BG could be ascribed to a warm-nature drug. Further research disclosed that RG and BG mainly regulated the acetic acid and GL and HB primarily modulated the isovaleric acid and hexanoic acid in rat feces, which could be the features of drugs with warm or cold nature on the regulation of SCFAs in rats. It is for the first time that the medicinal nature of BG and its effect on the SCFAs were examined.
