Pekarangan ngajeng (Ngajeng yard) is an open area at the front of the residence. Ngajeng yards are formed based on the division of residential land. The formation of the Ngajeng yard is based on ...tradition. The Ngajeng yard's use is determined by social, religious, traditional, and agricultural factors. The ngajeng yard is still preserved by the Kalang village's Javanese sub-ethnic group, the Kalang. The advantage of the ngajeng yard space as a path for the sun's movement is provided by the Limasap house, where the Kalang people reside, being oriented towards the North and South. Specifically, the objective of the ngajeng yard following the direction of the sun's movement will be covered in this research. The methods used are 1) ethnography, describing traditions related to the Ngajeng yard as well as religious aspects and beliefs of the Kalang people; 2) Analysis of the sun's movement in the East to West trajectory. The orientation of the traditional Limasap omah (house) building influences the existence of the ngajeng yard; 3) The next stage is looking for a belief system through ontology, explanation, prediction, axiology, practice, and epistemology approaches. At this stage, a belief system about the Ngajeng yard is obtained. Thus, it can be concluded that the Ngajeng yard is an open space that has various functions for the Kalang people. These functions are 1) Social function, as a communication, mitigation, and security space; 2) The function of tradition, as a space for the obong tradition to lead ancestors to nirvana; 3) Agricultural function, related to tandur (planting) traditions and harvest traditions. The belief system that is formed is a legacy of tradition related to the implementation of the wong (people) Kalang tradition.
Abstrak_ Protokol kesehatan harus terus dijalankan dalam mencegah virus Covid-19 meskipun kondisi di Indonesia saat ini menunjukkan tingkat penurunan penyebaran dan infeksi. Hal ini dikarenakan ...pemerintah telah melaksanakan proses vaksinasi secara masal ke seluruh warga masyarakat Indonesia. Terlebih status PKKM sudah dihapuskan dan memberikan kebebasan warga dalam beraktivitas di dalam ataupun luar ruangan. Tujuan utama dari penelitian ini adalah menginvestigasi dampak pemilihan material terhadap pendinginan pasif pada bangunan hunian dalam rangka merespon resiko Covid-19. Tingkat kenyamanan penghuni pada saat berada di dalam rumah dapat ditentukan dari penggunaan material rumah tinggal di Kabupaten Gresik ini. Proses identifikasi menggunakan metode teknik komparasi heat transfer secara kuantitatif dari tiap material bangunan pada beberapa bidang dari bangunan rumah tinggal. Proses identifikasi material eksisting pada bangunan terhadap rencana penggunaan material dalam proses redesign rumah tinggal. Ketercapaian ketahanan di sini adalah ketepatan penempatan dan pemilihan serta karakteristik dari material yang digunakan. Proses konduksi dan radiasi merupakan faktor kontribusi untuk proses penyaluran bahang pada bangunan. Kenyamanan thermal sangat besar dipengaruhi oleh penggunaan material dibandingkan dengan laju pertukaran udara. Nilai heat transfer dapat bernilai besar apabila material yang digunakan memiliki nilai U-value dan luas bidang yang besar dan ini menyebabkan tingkat kenyamanan thermal dalam bangunan menjadi rendah. This is because the government has implemented a mass vaccination process for all Indonesian citizens. Moreover, PKKM status has been abolished and gives residents freedom to do their activities inside or outside the room. The main objective of this study is to investigate the impact of material selection on passive cooling in residential buildings in response to the risk of Covid-19. The comfort level of occupants when they are inside the house can be determined from the use of residential materials in this Gresik Regency. The identification process uses the method of quantitative heat transfer comparison technique of each building material in several areas of residential buildings. The process of identifying existing materials in buildings against plans for the use of materials in the residential redesign process. Achievement of durability here is the accuracy of placement and selection as well as the characteristics of the materials used. Conduction and radiation processes are contributing factors to the heat distribution process in buildings. Thermal comfort is greatly influenced by the use of materials compared to the rate of air exchange. The heat transfer value can be of great value if the material used has a U-value and a large surface area and this causes the level of thermal comfort in the building to be low. Increasing temperatures and changes in global weather are currently affecting all countries, including Indonesia. This problem is what we can call global warming. The city of Surabaya in particular ...experiences this problem where there is a shift in time related to the dry season and the rainy season. The formation of green open spaces is important in a city to reduce the impact that is imposed globally. The main target expected is to take part in reducing the temperature in the city of Surabaya so that the ecological balance in it is maintained even though it is small or limited to existing sites. This is based on regional regulations regarding the proportion of green open space that must be presented according to data from Bappeko Surabaya. The method in research using literature studies, observational studies, and study designs in a form tailored to the analysis. The result of this research is to add the availability and utilization of green open space in the form of vertical vegetation in the UKDC campus building to provide additional green open space for both the UKDC campus and the city of Surabaya. So in other words, the new UKDC campus building can provide additional green open space to achieve the availability of green open space on private land.
Lengkong is a space between the two traditional houses of the Limasap wong Kalang house. The space is formed based on the distribution of land and the construction of the Limasap house. A legacy of ...the Kalang ancestors to provide distance between houses for a specific purpose. At this time there has been a shift in the function of the Lengkong space. This shift in function is related to the activities of the residents, both positive and negative. This space becomes a debate when it is used as a space with negative activity. However, Wong Kalang wants the space to remain. The existence of the space has been thought out, planned and conditioned as a useful space. The benefits of this space are also being debated because it reduces the area of Wong Kalang's yard. Through an ethnographic research method approach, researchers describe the benefits of the Lengkong space which is the legacy of the Kalang ancestors. The results of the study found that the benefits of the Lengkong space at this time are still being maintained. These benefits: 1) Social Space; 2) Tradition Room; 3) Mitigation Room. Activities carried out positively provide benefits. Meanwhile, negative activities need to be eliminated through socialization and a humanist approach. At this time, a new benefit of Lengkong space appears as a mitigation space which will be useful if bad things happen to residents and neighbors
The area of open land in the City of Surabaya is decreasing from year to year. This is influenced by the number of settlements and housing that have begun to emerge and develop, thus increasing the ...population level in an area. Humans are by nature social creatures. Can not be separated from other individuals and need each other. Individual someone indirectly lives together with the surrounding environment. This is what triggers that each individual must be social to one another. However, along with the times and technological advances today, many individuals often forget this and think more about their respective interests. Time to gather and meet face to face with neighbors, chat with each other directly or with the surrounding environment is also very minimal. Broadly speaking, the Babatan Pilang community is individual. The background to the problems that have been previously described is the basis for this community service to be able to provide input to the community of Babatan Pilang RT. 003 RW 005. The purpose of this community service is to help the community or housing residents to restore and create a social society. This community service program is carried out by creating and arranging common spaces for socializing.
In the changing times from year to year the development process is always progressing. No exception to the construction of settlements and housing scattered in the city of Surabaya. Arrangement of a ...housing environment is an important factor in improving the quality of life of residents in society. The residential space pattern in Babatan Pilang still maintains the brandgang system. The function of this brandgang itself is as a fire breaker to slow down or stop fires. Apart from the two main functions, brandgang indirectly also acts as a connection path between alleys or roads. The existing condition of the brandgang in the Babatan Pilang housing complex is not neat and well maintained. In general, the brandgang should not present a tense and frightening atmosphere. The method used is extracting data again looking at the aspects of the problems that exist in relation to the existence of brandgang so far. The function and role of brandgang wherever good and their existence are not necessarily forgotten and are more important, this is because brandgang is one of the main factors of a security system in a settlement or housing. Presenting a neat and orderly brandgang will create a good impression in restoring its main function.
The Gebang Putih area is a fairly densely populated settlement because each residence does not have an open yard. The activities of the youth or local residents are limited to gathering at locations ...outside the RW 003 environment. The results of observations and interviews with community leaders in RT. 02, it was found that residents of RW 003 needed a place for sports activities, gatherings, and discussions for residents of RW 003. The purpose of this community service was so that residents had a new activity center that was able to accommodate gathering, exercise, and socializing activities. This community service is expected to enable residents to carry out activities in a sustainable manner around their homes, thereby creating a friendly atmosphere and increasing a sense of brotherhood and harmony among residents. Community service activities carried out were utilizing the sewer side as a place for sports activities, and discussions for residents of RW 003. The method used was an observation, and interviews with the chairman of RW 003 and also residents of 003 Asem Umbrella. As a result of this community service, Asem Payung RW 003 village has infrastructure for joint activities between residents, such as ping pong, table tennis, or a gathering area.
Surabaya is one of the largest metropolitan cities in Indonesia with all the developments that have taken place, from development, technology, education, and others. However, even so, there are still ...many Child Welfare Institutions (LKSA) or child orphanages that have not received accreditation, as much as 71.7% of child orphanages in Surabaya have not been accredited. This means that there are still many orphanages that have not met the eligibility standards, both in terms of area related to the comfort of the residents. Therefore, through this research it is hoped that it will be able to create a design for an orphanage that meets eligibility standards and is able to provide personal space for its residents. In designing this orphanage, a behavioral architectural approach with anthropometric concepts was used to produce the designs. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study type to analyze problems in Christian children's orphanages. Then, collecting information and data obtained from literature studies and coming to the field to make direct observations of the object of study. Thus, it can create orphanage buildings that not only contain functional values but are livable and able to present personal space.
