ABSTRACT During the last decades the green economy has been proposed from different international organizations as an economic model for the 21st century that gravitates around respecting the ...environment. This paper tries to identify, with criteria of economic efficiency (high economic impact) and social efficiency (high impact on job creation, green jobs), the “potentially green sectors” that can be stimulated by a national strategy to develop a green economy in Spain. For this, we will use the Social Accounting Matrix of Spain 2010, identifying, by means of the normalized absorption and diffusion coefficients and by means of employment multipliers, the key, drivers and with greater capacity for job creation sectors from a group of ten sectors that we have identified as “potentially green sectors”.

This essay seeks to shed light on six open debates about sumak kawsay: Its meaning, translation, origin, cultural referent, relation with development, and direction. Such debates are analyzed from ...the premise that the authors who participate in them do so from different cultural paradigms (Andean worldview, modernism, or post-modernism) and from different schools of thought (socialist and statist, indigenist and 'pachamamista', or ecologist and post-developmentalist). Adapted from the source document.
Buen vivir (good living) discourse emerged at the turn of the century in the context of global political contestation around the prevailing development model at the intersection of multiple actors, ...discourses, and struggles. A genealogical reconstruction of this discourse disputes the ethnocentric character often attributed to it outside Latin America as an allegedly indigenous discursive product. Instead, buen vivir is a prime example of “glocal” discursive articulation in pursuit of alter- and postdevelopmentalist utopias—a cultural-political experiment that holds valuable lessons for global debates around alternative socio-ecological futures.

Taking an analytical-descriptive and synthetical approach, this article presents a retrospective construction of the Ecuadorian indigenist school of good living from the current conception of good ...living as the sumak kawsay currently held by Ecuadorian indigenist intellectuals, assuming that thought on good living evolves within competitive epistemic communities. To that end, the thought on good living of this school has been characterized by nine criteria used in studies of schools of development, the various intellectuals that comprise this school have been identified and grouped into four categories, the institutional and intellectual factors that have contributed to the emergence of this school have been determined, and the main criticisms received and their countercriticism have been summarized.
The proposal of an alternative global agenda to SDGs is the result of a trans-modern and trans-disciplinary second order research program. We organized two international discussion groups: one in ...Quito, Ecuador, and the other one in Salamanca, Spain, in July 2017, with the participation of twenty-two academic experts in Buen Vivir, de-growth and trans-development - eleven men and eleven women from thirteen different counties. From the transcription of their records we extracted a draft of proposal of Good Living Goals. Then at the end of 2017 and at the beginning of 2018 we administered an online survey to validate our proposal. This survey was answered by 122 experts (61 men and 51 women) – academics, researchers, consultants, stake-holders and social activists, from 20 different countries. We wrote the final version of the proposal of Good Living Goals using the results of this survey as an input. Our reflection was not intended to slow down the institutional implementation of SDGs, but generate a collective consciousness within the academy, social movements and international collaborators, which would allow a new post-2030 agenda based on goals that were not even included in the 2030 agenda.
The article analyzes the Spanish emigration to Argentina between 2008 and 2015, with the prospect of understanding the demographic profile of the new Spanish emigrants to Argentina, the causes of ...their migration, the initial problems of migration process, the conditions of their later situation and their expectations of the future. We use a mixed quantitative and qualitative methodological strategy, combining first and second order research. Findings include that these migrants are mostly young and middle-aged workers, highly qualified and with work experience. Pushed from Spain by the economic crisis and attracted to Argentina for its labor opportunities, they have found a migratory and institutional network of support which guarantees a social, labor and economic integration. For the most part, they are satisfied with their migratory experience even though most desire to come back to Spain.
