Consumer-generated content has provided an important new information medium for tourists, throughout the purchasing lifecycle, transforming the way that visitors evaluate, select and share ...experiences about tourism. Research in this area has largely focused on quantitative ratings provided on websites. However, advanced techniques for linguistic analysis provide the opportunity to extract meaning from the valuable comments provided by visitors. In this paper, we identify the key dimensions of customer service voiced by hotel visitors use a data mining approach, latent dirichlet analysis (LDA). The big data set includes 266,544 online reviews for 25,670 hotels located in 16 countries. LDA uncovers 19 controllable dimensions that are key for hotels to manage their interactions with visitors. We also find differences according to demographic segments. Perceptual mapping further identifies the most important dimensions according to the star-rating of hotels. We conclude with the implications of our study for future research and practice.

Protein glycosylation and phosphorylation are two important protein post-translational modifications. Mass spectrometry (MS) has been proved to be a powerful technique in comprehensive ...characterization of protein glycosylation and phosphorylation; however, the complexity of biological matrices and weak ionization efficiency bring a big challenge. Capturing glycopeptides and phosphopeptides from complicated biological samples is indispensable before MS determinations. In this study, a bifunctional gallium ion immobilized magnetic pertriflated pillar5arene supramolecular-organic framework (magOTfP5SOF-Ga3+) was designed for the one-step simultaneous enrichment of glycopeptides and phosphopeptides. Thanks to the abundant sulfonic acid groups, the material owns strong hydrophilicity and leads to hydrophilic interaction chromatography for glycopeptides enrichment. Simultaneously, the high loading amount of gallium ion provides immobilized metal ion affinity for phosphopeptides enrichment. The established platform possesses quick magnetic response performance, high sensitivity (detection limits as low as 0.1 fmol and 0.05 fmol for glycopeptides and phosphopeptides, respectively), and good reusability. In addition, the method was applied to the determination of glycopeptides and phosphopeptides in clinical specimens, cell lysates, and mouse liver tissue samples, demonstrating its highly sensitive and specific glycoproteomics and phosphorproteomics analysis in complex biosamples.
Free bilirubin, a key biomarker for jaundice, was detected with a newly designed fluorescent postsynthetically modified metal organic framework (MOF) (UIO-66-PSM) sensor. UiO-66-PSM was prepared ...based on the aldimine condensation reaction of UiO-66-NH2 with 2,3,4-trihydroxybenzaldehyde. The fluorescence of UIO-66-PSM could be effectively quenched by free bilirubin via a fluorescent resonant energy transfer process, thus achieving its recognition of free bilirubin. It was the first attempt to design a MOF-based fluorescent probe for sensing free bilirubin. The probe exhibited fast response time, low detection limit, wide linear range, and high selectivity toward free bilirubin. The sensing system enabled the monitor of free bilirubin in real human serum. Hence, the reported free bilirubin sensing platform has potential applications for clinical diagnosis of jaundice.
Protein phosphorylation plays vital roles in the regulation of various biological processes involving in protein folding, molecular recognition, cell growth, and metabolism. It is prerequisite to ...develop effective enrichment methods of trace phosphopeptides before mass spectrometry (MS) analysis. In this study, we proposed a facile strategy to synthesize magnetic ionic covalent organic frameworks (Fe3O4@iCOFs) for the capture of phosphopeptides with guanidyl as the ionic ligand instead of the post-synthetic functionalization strategy. The developed Fe3O4@iCOFs contain a large amount of amino groups, positive charge, as well as owned superparamagnetism. The enrichment of phosphopeptides is based on the electrostatic interaction and hydrogen bonds formed between phosphate groups and guanidyl groups. By combing with MS determinations, high sensitivity of phosphopeptides (the lowest detection amount being 0.4 fmol) was achieved. The obtained material provided selective enrichment capacity of phosphopeptides from non-fat milk digest and HeLa cells, showing great potential in the detection of low-abundance phosphopeptides in complex real samples.

Asthma is a chronic and genetically complex respiratory disease that affects over 300 million people worldwide. Here, we report a genome-wide analysis for asthma using data from the UK Biobank and ...the Trans-National Asthma Genetic Consortium. We identify 66 previously unknown asthma loci and demonstrate that the susceptibility alleles in these regions are, either individually or as a function of cumulative genetic burden, associated with risk to a greater extent in men than women. Bioinformatics analyses prioritize candidate causal genes at 52 loci, including CD52, and demonstrate that asthma-associated variants are enriched in regions of open chromatin in immune cells. Lastly, we show that a murine anti-CD52 antibody mimics the immune cell-depleting effects of a clinically used human anti-CD52 antibody and reduces allergen-induced airway hyperreactivity in mice. These results further elucidate the genetic architecture of asthma and provide important insight into the immunological and sex-specific relevance of asthma-associated risk variants.
This paper proposes a process monitoring and fault diagnosis method based on a regular vine (R vine) and Bayesian network. The R vine model structure is determined by searching for the maximum sum of ...combinations of correlations among variables, which makes the model more robust and able to describe data more flexibly. A double-space strategy based on the R vine is used to detect the process fault, which can improve the ability to detect weak faults. Furthermore, a Bayesian network is built according to the first tree of the R vine model to diagnose the detected fault and find the root cause. The causality between the nodes of the Bayesian network is determined via the Granger test. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by numerical examples and industrial examples.

The analysis of endogenous glycoproteins and glycopeptides in human body fluids is of great importance for screening and discovering disease biomarkers with clinical significance. However, the presence of interfering substances makes the direct quantitative detection of low-abundance glycoproteins and glycopeptides in human body fluids one of the great challenges in analytical chemistry. Magnetic solid phase extraction (MSPE) has the advantages of easy preparation, low cost and good magnetic responsiveness. Magnetic adsorbents are the core of MSPE technology, and magnetic adsorbents based on different functional materials are widely used in the quantitative analysis of glycoproteins and glycopeptides in human body fluids, making it possible to analyze glycoproteins and glycopeptides with low abundance as well as multiple types, which provides a technical platform for screening and evaluating glycoproteins and glycopeptides in body fluids as disease biomarkers. In this paper, we focus on the recent advances in the application of MSPE technology and magnetic adsorbents for the separation and enrichment of glycoproteins and glycopeptides in human body fluids, and the future trends and application prospects in this field are also presented.
Over the past few decades, supramolecular chemistry has entered the field of scientific research and attracted extensive attention. This review focuses on the important role of cyclodextrin polymers (CDPs) as adsorbents in the adsorption of different substances. It covers the category of CDPs adsorbents (including crosslinked CDPs, grafted CDPs, CD-based polyrotaxanes/pseudo-polyrotaxanes, and imprinted CDPs), their adsorption mechanism and applications in the adsorption of inorganic metal ions, organic pollutants, and biomacromolecules. Finally, the challenges and future perspectives in relative research fields are discussed.

A modulation approach with 4-hydroxybenzhydrazide as the modulating agent was designed for constructing 2,4,6-triphenoxy-1,3,5-benzene-based covalent organic frameworks (COFs). The COFs materials ...were employed as solid phase microextraction (SPME) coatings for the extraction of phthalate esters (PAEs). Various experimental conditions including extraction temperature, extraction time, salt concentration, and desorption time were investigated and optimized. The introduction of modulating agent into the synthesis of fibers significantly enhanced the extraction efficiency towards PAEs. The linear range was 1–100 μg L‒1 and the detection limits in the range of 0.032–0.451 μg L‒1 were achieved with good linearity ranged from 0.9904 to 0.9970. Inter-batch and intra-batch relative standard deviations were in the ranges of 0.83–4.67% and 3.08–9.73%, respectively. Moreover, the developed coating fibers were used for the extraction of PAEs in water samples and satisfactory recoveries were achieved.
