Nanostructured near-IR antireflective layer was produced on a GaAs slab surface by direct femtosecond laser fabrication of a surface diffraction grating. The single nanostructured layer on the GaAs ...slab reduces its total reflection at the wavelength λ ≈ 2.5 μm by 42 %, in agreement with the second-order approximation of the effective medium theory, with negligible increase of its absorbance.
A numerical simulation was performed for frequency conversion of multiline CO laser radiation to the THz range by difference frequency generation in a ZnGeP2 crystal. It was shown that the difference ...frequencies spectrum can be tuned in the wavelength interval of 70–1300 μm by tuning the phase-matching angle in the range of 11° to 55°. Results are presented from experimental and theoretical studies of the production of singlet delta oxygen in a pulsed electron-beam-sustained discharge ignited in a large ({approx}18-1) volume at a ...total gas mixture pressure of up to 210 Torr. The measured yield of singlet oxygen reaches 10.5%. It is found that varying the reduced electric field from {approx}2 to {approx}11 kV/(cm atm) slightly affects singlet oxygen production. It is shown experimentally that an increase in the gas mixture pressure or the specific input energy reduces the duration of singlet oxygen luminescence. The calculated time evolution of the singlet oxygen concentration is compared with experimental results.

The trace remote sensing scheme of atmospheric gas components (nitrous oxide and methane) with emission lines of pulsed first-overtone CO laser is tested using a topographic target and receiving ...telescope. Results of the measurements and calculation of absorption on 20 selected emission lines in gas mixtures with the studied gases at various configurations of the experimental scheme are presented.
