The use of a skin graft from the leg or back of mice or rats (10 X 20 mm) or rats (12 X 52 mm) with its further packing results in the 50 +/- 10% ruin of the distal part. The effect of different ...factors on necrosis change in size is quantitatively evaluated.
Lithium chloride with its intraperitoneal administration to rats in a dose of 35 mg/kg, twice a day for 14 days, is shown to suppress predelection for ethanol formed by a 2-month consumption of its ...5% solution. This effect of the lithium salt correlates with normalization of the activity displayed by central biorhythms regulators--neurosecretory hypothalamus, nuclei, earlier disorganized by ethanol. A possible relation between the ability of the lithium salts to normalize the central regulation of the biorhythms and their high therapeutic effectiveness in dealing with affective disturbances with a periodic course is discussed.
By way of comparison the influence of psychostimulators -- benzedrine, caffein and sydnocarb -- on the physical performance capacity of rats exposed to heat and cold was studied. It was ascertained ...that psychostimulators are capable of heightening the performance capacity of the animals, viz. benzedrine in cooling -- in a dose of 1 mg/kg; caffein -- in overheating -- in a dose of 30 mg/kg; sydrocarb -- in overheating -- in a dose of 5 mg/kg. In the case of benzedrine the increase of performance capacity reaches 29.4, in that of caffein -- 21.0 and in sydnocarb -- 42.1 per cent above the initial level.
Dynamics of nonachlazine, a new anti-anginal agent, distribution in organs following its single and repeated introduction in the form of a potion and aqueous solution was studied in tests with albino ...rats. It was ascertained that on introduction of a ready for use medicinal preparation (potion) the drug is absorbed by the blood and enters internal organs at a quicker pace than does its aqueous solution. The type of the medicinal preparation of the drug has no relevance to the rate of its elimination from the organism. With its repeated introduction (over a space of 12 days) the nonachlazine level in the heart and kidneys goes up, whereas its content in the blood and liver experiences but a slight change.
The influence of fluorophenazine on succinic-, citric acid-, NAD-H2-and NADP-H2-dehydrogenases in different structures of rat brain was investigated by histochemical methods. Three hours after a ...single subcutaneous injection of fluorophenazine (1 and 5 mg/kg) the enzymatic activity was the greatest in the limbic and the frontal regions of the cortex. The inhibitory effects of fluorophenazine in these structures were greater than those of the neuroleptics trifluoroperazine, chlorpromazine.

Experiments on rats were made to study the effect of alcohol and teturam on the function of spermatozoa and spermatogenesis of males and their progeny. The male-mediated damaging action of alcohol on ...the gonads of the progeny was ascertained. That might be one of the causes of the maldevelopment in subsequent generations of the progeny. Teturam was demonstrated to have an insignificant gonadotropic action and not to potentiate an adverse alcohol action on the male gonads.
