This article presents a new methodology to diagnostics ten types of skin lesions based on the image' s Fourier spectral information in an additive color model. All spectral information and ...correlation coefficients between the skin lesions classes conform the input signals to an Artificial Neural Network. In general, the results show the well-defined classification for all the skin lesions classes based on the high values for Accuracy, Precision, Sensitivity, and Specificity metrics performance and a reduced images misclassification percentage (≈5.9%) for the Testing sub-dataset, and less for Training (≈2.8%) and Validation (≈5.6%) sub-dataset even considering the strange objects, not-clarity, and black sections in some images analyzed. The general achieved classification Accuracy, Precision, Sensitivity, and Specificity percentages of the proposed method are 99.33 %, 94.16 %, 92.9 %, and 99.63 %, respectively. In particular, the skin lesions related to Basal Cell Carcinoma , Seborrhoeic Keratosis , and Melanocytic Nevus present the best performance regarding the Receiver Operating Characteristics, while the Pyogenic Granuloma was the worst classified.
This paper presents a cross-sectional exploratory study of determinant factors for border and cross-border entrepreneurship in the Cali-Baja region, i.e., the binational region comprised by the state ...of Baja California in Mexico and the state of California in the United State of America. Regarding methodology, information from the National Population and Housing Census 2020 applied by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography of Mexico was used. Next, dependent and independent variables were established to set the research hypothesis. Then, using the STATA 14 program, the odds ratios for the dependent and independent variables were calculated using a logistic regression model. As a result, the research findings and the process of accepting or rejecting each research hypothesis are described. Diverse goodness of fit tests was also developed for the variables, obtaining that the logistic regression model better predicts cross-border entrepreneurship. For this undertaking, the goodness of fit test results was an Area Under the Curve of 0.66, a Positive predictive value of 9.91%, and a Hosmer-Lemeshow value of 1, among others. Finally, these results can help to strengthen international entrepreneurship through the creation of public and private sector programs based on the relevant probabilistic relationships presented.

2
emission factor of a manufacturing company are presented through the application of an energy- and water-integrated management system based on the ISO 50001 and ISO 46001 standards as part of the global supporting trend to the transition to a low-carbon economy. Regarding the methodology, the deming cycle and the high-level structure characteristic of the aforementioned standards were used to establish concurrent organizational and technological actions to achieve the efficiency objectives. In particular, data curation, analysis, and translation were used as arguments for countermeasures to improve energy and water efficiency. As a result, energy and water use reduction was achieved, ≈ 12.66% and ≈ 15.23%, respectively, implying that the CO
2
emission factor by manufacturing items during 2021 decreased by ≈ 19.88% compared with 2020. In addition, relevant findings, challenges, and opportunities were also determined that can serve as recommendations to improve the overall CO
2
emission factor through the use of various renewable energy systems, actions related to bioclimatic architecture, and optimization methods for the energy-water nexus. The aforementioned has important managerial implications based on the Deming cycle which are mentioned in the conclusion section, such as the more detailed analysis of the technological and organizational options and methods that allow for improving efficiency for later years.
This paper presents a structural equation model to determine the job satisfaction and occupational health impacts concerning organizational and physical ergonomics, using (as a study) objective ...unionized workers from the University of Sonora, South Campus, as an educational enterprise, during the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. The above is a key element of an organizational sustainability framework. In fact, there exists a knowledge gap about the relationship between diverse ergonomic factors, job satisfaction, and occupational health, in the educational institution's context. The method used was a stratified sample of workers to which a job satisfaction-occupational health questionnaire was applied, consisting of 31 items with three-dimensional variables. As a result, the overall Cronbach's Alpha coefficient was determined, 0.9028, which is considered adequate to guarantee reliability (i.e., very high magnitude). Therefore, after the structural equation model, only 12 items presented a strong correlation, with a good model fit of 0.036 based on the root mean square error of approximation, 1.09 degrees of freedom for the chi-square, 0.9 for the goodness of fit index, and a confidence level of 95%. Organizational and physical factors have positive impacts on job satisfaction with factor loads of 0.37 and 0.53, respectively, and
-values of 0.016 and 0.000, respectively. The constructs related to occupational health that are considered less important by the workers were also determined, which would imply a mitigation strategy. The results contribute to the body of knowledge concerning the ergonomic dimensions mentioned and support organizational sustainability improvements in educational institutions and other sectors.
This paper shows an analysis of the entrepreneurship intentions patterns in the short, medium, and long term of Mexican university students. The entrepreneurship patterns analysis was carried out ...using a customized artificial neural network considering as inputs the self-assessment of multiple intelligences from an interdisciplinary perspective. Thus, many important findings reveal that not all multiple intelligences have a direct and proportional impact on entrepreneurship intention. In fact, Linguistic–Verbal Intelligence, Intrapersonal Intelligence, and Interpersonal intelligence are the types of intelligence that have the greatest influence on entrepreneurial intentions. In addition, the performance metrics of the ANN for classifying the entrepreneurship intentions are higher than the ones reported in the literature (i.e., accuracy ≈ 99.29%, precision ≈ 98.89%, sensitivity ≈ 99.53%, and specificity ≈ 99.01%). The paper contributes to the literature on the deep understanding of entrepreneurs’ behavior concerning the strengths and weaknesses of their multiple intelligences. Besides, this interdisciplinary empirical work contributes to improving the design of methods and techniques to strengthen entrepreneurship from the earliest stages of students’ lives and promote sustainable businesses. The most surprising finding was the minimal relationship of Naturalistic Intelligence to undertake sustainable and robust projects, which demands more detailed and in-depth analysis. Finally, some proposals are presented to improve the teaching process of entrepreneurship and sustainability, considering the artificiality, sustainability, and entrepreneurship involved in academic programs at universities.
This manuscript presents the analysis of a real distributed generation network considering the integration of Active Buildings that meet the Passivhaus standard criteria at the Premium level, as a ...base case model. The novelty aspect presented in this paper is the interconnection of Active Buildings based on the Passivhaus standard at the Premium level with the National Electricity System (particularly, in Mexico’s North Baja California region) to mitigate the energy deficit. The objective of the proposal grid is to reduce the energy deficit (≈600 MW) due to the high energy demand in the region and the reduced energy generation through conventional and renewable energy sources. In a particular way, the energy rehabilitation of some buildings was analyzed with the aim of reducing the energy demand of each one and then adding energy generation through renewable sources. As a result, all Passivhaus standard criteria (i.e., heating and cooling demands, heating and cooling loads, among others) were met. Regarding the Active Buildings performance in each distributed generation circuit, an overall installed power capacity of ≈2.3 MW was obtained, which corresponds to ≈19.1% of the maximum capacity, and ≈34.30% of the recommended integration capacity. In addition, adequate results were obtained related to the import and export of energy between distributed generation circuits, i.e., the energy exchange is up to ≈106.8 kW, intending to reduce the energy contribution of the utility electrical network. Finally, the analysis of the Active Buildings showed an increase in the net generation forecast, up to ≈2.25 MW.

Energy efficiency is an aspect highly related to the sustainability and competitiveness in the medium and long term of any company. This paper describes the theoretical and technical generalities of some case studies related to wine-producing companies located in the Guadalupe Valley, Mexico, which began the implementation of an energy management system based on ISO 50001 to optimize the use of energy and minimize the carbon footprint of its products (wine). The framework for these Capstone Projects and the multi-year energy balance analysis using Sankey diagrams are presented to determine the Energy Performance Indicators and Significant Energy Uses. In addition, considering the experiences gained in these projects, a transdisciplinary analysis is carried out to strengthen the sustainable life cycle of the wine based on resource efficiency as the main element from a circular economy approach.

This article presents the simulation and characterization of an on-shore oscillating water column (OWC) system as part of a distributed generation network considering the irregular interaction of sea ...waves. The main issue is the adequate calculation of the power generated considering the real variations of the sea waves, employing the stochastic analysis of the wave height and period. The characterization of the wave height was carried out using the Fisher-Tippett Type 1 function, and for the wave period, an empirical probability density function to obtain the instantaneous and accumulated power in an annual period. A basic on-shore OWC system was proposed with different physical dimensions. The theoretical and numerical results present a very similar performance for both turbines (600 W and 25 kW) analyzed. Regarding the 600 W turbine, the resulting accuracy is ≈94.5%, which implies that the annual generated power is 3.13 ± 1.02 MWh/year and the overall efficiency is 23.51% ± 1.9%. However, due to the reduced power generated, the chamber dimensions were modified, achieving 160.61 ± 9.99 MWh/year with an accuracy of ≈93.2%, based on an installed power capacity proposal using a 25 kW turbine. Also, the average overall efficiency for both turbines considering the irregular wave interaction is ≈23.5% and ≈21.1% for 600 W and 25 kW turbines, respectively.
As background, the COVID pandemic affected the competitiveness and sustainability of cultural and creative industries around the world. In particular, social sustainability must be promoted in a ...formal framework, namely, an organizational ergonomics framework. However, there are not enough results and findings in the literature in this regard. This article shows a critical review of the literature related to the problem mentioned, intending to determine the opportunities, challenges, and controvertible aspects that could support development of the cultural and creative industries. As result, the main challenges are (1) the lack of reference frameworks and informality, (2) comparative understaffing, and (3) the strengthening of the value and supply chains. The opportunities are (1) cultural and creative industries as a new key element of strategic development for regional competitiveness, (2) cohesion and social belonging, and (3) the diversity of cultural and creative expressions. Finally, regarding the application of organizational ergonomics in the cultural and creative Industries to promote social sustainability, the theoretical and practical implications, managerial implications, and future research lines are discussed. In addition, the limitations of the research are explained, clarifying that the results generated are not conclusive, but rather that they establish a starting point for research, development, and innovation (R + D + i) in support of the orange economy.
