We present the Rf characteristics of 0.7-μm gate length n-GaN/AlGaN/GaN high-electron mobility transistors (HEMTs) with different source-drain spacing tested under different temperatures. The 7-μm ...source-drain spacing device demonstrated 800 mA/mm drain current density and 257 mS/mm tranceconductance, and the 5-μm source-drain spacing device demonstrated 700 mA/mm drain current density and 260 mS/mm tranconductance. The 7-μm source-drain spacing device was measured at room temperatures of 25 °C and -40 °C, the current gain (f T ) were 18 GHz and 21GHz and the maximum oscillation (f max (U)) frequency were 63 GHz-and 87 GHz, respectively The f T was nearly linearly dependent on the temperature. As operating temperature increased from -40 °C to 50 °C, the f T dropped more dramatically for the 5-μm SD spacing device than for the 7-μm device. The f max characteristic of 5-μm SD spacing device decreases more dramatically above 125 °C than the 7-μm SD spacing device. This phenomenon might be due to stronger phonon scattering for shorter channel device at high temperatures.
This paper presents a modified block truncation coding scheme for the compression of images. We first design a set of binary edge patterns, which are visually significant, to approximate the bit ...plane of an image block. An interblock coding scheme, utilizing the spatial correlation between neighboring blocks, is then developed for coding of the sample mean and standard deviation of a block. Simulation results indicate that the bit rate is significantly reduced without introducing noticeable degradation in the reconstructed images.

The Co(III) ion is six-coordinate in a nearly octahedral environment provided by one Cl atom, four N atoms of the bridging ligand, and one O atom. The Zn(II) ion is four-coordinate in a distorted tetrahedral environment completed by three Cl atoms and an O atom of the bridging ligand.
Notre étude avait pour objectif de rechercher le risque d’hospitalisation évitable chez les patients atteints de polyarthrite rhumatoïde (PR).
Nous avons identifié 11 852 patients PR et ...59 260 témoins appariés sur l’âge, le sexe et l’année index et issus de la base de données du système national d’assurance maladie de Taïwan. La date index correspondait à la date du diagnostic de PR pour les cas et a été assignée à leurs témoins appariés. Les odds ratios (OR) des hospitalisations évitables entre les patients PR et les témoins ont été estimés à l’aide d’un modèle mixte ajusté sur l’âge, le sexe, les caractéristiques des patients, l’indice de comorbidité d’Elixhauser, le recours aux soins et l’offre de soins régionale.
L’incidence annuelle globale des hospitalisations évitables chez les patients PR et les témoins s’élevait à 38,7 vs. 20,9 événements pour 1000 personnes–années (OR ajusté, 1,61 ; intervalle de confiance à 95 % IC, 1,51–1,71). L’OR ajusté des hospitalisations évitables chez les patients PR comparativement aux témoins appariés était de 1,17 (1,00–1,37) un an avant le diagnostic de PR tout en conservant des niveaux élevés après le diagnostic de PR. Les ORs ajustés (IC95 %) pour les catégories spécifiques d’hospitalisations évitables étaient de 1,93 (1,58–2,36) pour la maladie pulmonaire chronique obstructive (BPCO), 1,64 (1,21–2,21) pour l’asthme, 1,95 (1,78–2,13) pour la pneumonie bactérienne et 1,59 (1,44–1,75) pour les infections urinaires. Selon l’analyse de la tendance de chaque catégorie d’hospitalisation évitable avant et après le diagnostic, les hospitalisations pour pneumonie bactérienne et infection urinaire affichaient un OR significativement plus élevé chez les patients PR un an avant le diagnostic et cinq ans après le diagnostic (OR ajusté variant respectivement de 2,75 à 4,48 et de 1,83 à 3,07, toutes les valeurs de p<0,05).
La PR est associée de manière indépendante à un taux plus élevé d’hospitalisations évitables, en particulier pour les maladies pulmonaires chroniques et les infections.

The diets of a selected group of young pregnant women with toxemia were evaluated for their content of vitamins and minerals to determine possible correlations between nutrient intake and pregnancy ...complications. Food samples were analyzed based on dietary histories collected in 3 trials over 3 successive years. Results indicated that toxemia in pregnancy is characterized by hypertension, edema, and/or proteinuria. When compared to controls, the toxemic group had lower intakes of vitamins and minerals, but both groups were deficient in calcium, magnesium, vitamins B6 and 12, and thiamin. Anemia was not related to the incidence of toxemia. Meat, milk and grains provided significant proportions of the nutrients ingested except vitamin A
