Polysomnography is the gold standard for measuring and detecting sleep patterns. In recent years, activity wristbands have become popular because they record continuous data in real time. Hence, ...comprehensive validation studies are needed to analyze the performance and reliability of these devices in the recording of sleep parameters.
This study compared the performance of one of the best-selling activity wristbands, the Xiaomi Mi Band 5, against polysomnography in measuring sleep stages.
This study was carried out at a hospital in A Coruña, Spain. People who were participating in a polysomnography study at a sleep unit were recruited to wear a Xiaomi Mi Band 5 simultaneously for 1 night. The total sample consisted of 45 adults, 25 (56%) with sleep disorders (SDis) and 20 (44%) without SDis.
Overall, the Xiaomi Mi Band 5 displayed 78% accuracy, 89% sensitivity, 35% specificity, and a Cohen κ value of 0.22. It significantly overestimated polysomnography total sleep time (P=.09), light sleep (N1+N2 stages of non-rapid eye movement REM sleep; P=.005), and deep sleep (N3 stage of non-REM sleep; P=.01). In addition, it underestimated polysomnography wake after sleep onset and REM sleep. Moreover, the Xiaomi Mi Band 5 performed better in people without sleep problems than in those with sleep problems, specifically in detecting total sleep time and deep sleep.
The Xiaomi Mi Band 5 can be potentially used to monitor sleep and to detect changes in sleep patterns, especially for people without sleep problems. However, additional studies are necessary with this activity wristband in people with different types of SDis.

: This study offers a promising approach to assess whether the Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 5 correctly records our sleep. Even though these devices are not expected to replace PSG, they may be used as an initial evaluation tool for users to manage their own sleep quality and, if necessary, consult a health professional. We present a qualitative analysis in a phase space to determine the longitudinal equilibrium positions on the planetary stationary orbits by applying an analytical model that considers linear gravitational perturbations. We discuss how these longitudes are related with the orientation of the planetary principal inertia axes with respect to their Prime Meridians, and then we use this determination to derive their positions with respect to the International Celestial Reference Frame. Finally, a numerical analysis of the non-linear effects of the gravitational fields on the equilibrium point locations is developed and their correlation with gravity field anomalies shown.

Polysomnography (PSG) is currently the accepted gold standard for sleep studies, as it measures multiple variables that lead to a clear diagnosis of any sleep disorder. However, it has some clear ...drawbacks, since it can only be performed by qualified technicians, has a high cost and complexity and is very invasive. In the last years, actigraphy has been used along PSG for sleep studies. In this study, we intend to assess the capability of the new Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 5 to be used as an actigraphy tool. Sleep measures from PSG and Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 5 recorded in the same night will be obtained and further analysed to assess their concordance. For this analysis, we perform a paired sample t-test to compare the different measures, Bland–Altman plots to evaluate the level of agreement between the Mi Band and PSG and Epoch by Epoch analysis to study the ability of the Mi Band to correctly identify PSG-defined sleep stages. This study belongs to the research field known as participatory health, which aims to offer an innovative healthcare model driven by the patients themselves, leading to civic empowerment and self-management of health.

hypothesis: mural paintings, stelae and codex. In this work, we have recovered
and compiled information regarding mayan constellations and the mayan names for
selected celestial bodies. We explain the process that was carried out to
obtain all the information available and compile it under the same digital
support. The result was incorporated into the Stellarium astronomical software
to enrich the modules of archaeoastronomy and stellar legend, where
constellations from diverse cultures are made available to users of the
software by simulating their appearance in the night sky.
