There are typically two main reasons why you may consider migrating SAP to Azure: You need to replace the infrastructure that is currently running SAP, or you want to migrate SAP to a new database. ...This book will guide you through migrating your SAP data to Azure simply and successfully.
At the start of the twenty-first century nationalism began to be articulated as a political tool in Colombian political discourse. This article examines the attitudes of Colombians in the border city ...of Cúcuta to their Venezuelan neighbours at a time of high tension between the two countries. Based on fieldwork carried out at a time when the ideological conflict between the respective presidents led to the closing of the frontier, it examines the impact of the national media's campaign against Hugo Chávez on local peoples' articulation of their relationship with those on the other side. In the process, it considers the relevance of Alejandro Grimson's notion of borderization to understandings of nationalism in the region, and explores the role of populism in Colombian political life.
A Neural Algorithm of Artistic Style introduced an artificial system to create artistic images. It does so by generating a set of feature maps from a content image and a style image. These feature ...maps are used to generate a loss, which is applied iteratively to a noisy image via gradient descent. This process results in the generated image having features which represent that of the target content and the target style images. The goal of this project is to explore the original research decisions, and explicitly document the tradeoffs being made. The original research used the Visual Geometry Group’s 19 weight-layer model. Many properties of this method were not fully documented - the optimization method is not specified (only broadly referred to as gradient descent), the architecture is altered to “improve gradient flow” without documenting how it was improved, no other models are evaluated, and many properties of the gradient descent process were not explored. This project aims to explore additional models, document various methods of gradient descent, explain characteristics of the loss, and propose solutions to improve the gradient flow.
This article explores the phenomenon of the narconovela, a variant of the telenovela which emerged in Colombia in the 2000s, gaining huge audiences and dominating the ratings. Taking as its starting ...point the seminal work of Jesús Martín-Barbero in the 1980s and 90s, it examines the critical reaction to these sensationalist crime stories, questioning the common assumption that their popularity confirms a decline in the moral values of the viewing public. Drawing parallels with film noir, it notes how the pleasure taken in viewing melodramatic and dystopian fictions reveals a number of social tensions without implying that what is in any case a highly diverse audience approves of what it sees on screen. Rather, it understands the narconovela as a dramatisation of the darkest aspects of Colombian common sense which is interpreted in different ways by different social subjects. As part of the argument, it provides a detailed analysis of Sin tetas no hay paraíso, the series which inaugurated the new subgenre, and concludes with the consideration of two small viewer surveys.
This paper draws on research into the National Gramophonic Society (N.G.S.), a British record label of the 1920s which specialized in chamber music. Existing accounts of the early development of the ...record industry concentrate on the production and marketing of recordings; they also address the reception of recordings but on very broad scales, chiefly in the field of popular music, and mainly through the writings of prominent critics. Early consumers of recorded music have received less attention, yet their testimonies tell us much about the crucial developments of the 1920s, when innovative technology and marketing persuaded many lovers of “classical” music to accept the gramophone. Because it operated by subscription, the N.G.S. can be used, in the manner of a historical microscope, to focus on individual listeners during this period and study their backgrounds, motivations, tastes and habits. Some transferred to the gramophone existing practices from music, literature and other cultural spheres; for others, records offered engagement with and appreciation of types of music which had previously been inaccessible.
