Using a data sample of 921.9 fb-1 collected with the Belle detector, we study the process of $e^+e^- → D^+_s D_{s1}(2536)^-+c.c.$ via initial-state radiation. We report the first observation of a ...vector charmoniumlike state decaying to $D^+_s D_{s1}(2536)^-+c.c.$ with a significance of $5.9σ$, including systematic uncertainties. The measured mass and width are $(4625.9^{+6.2}_{-6.0}$(stat)$±0.4$(syst)) MeV/$c_2$ and ($49.8^{+13.9}_{-11.5}$(stat)$±4.0$(syst)) MeV, respectively. The product of the $e^+e^- → D^+_s D_{s1}(2536)^-+c.c.$ cross section and the branching fraction of $D_{s1}(2536)^- → \bar{D}^{*0}K^-$ is measured from the $D_s \bar{D}_{s1}(2536)$ threshold to $5.59$ GeV.

Using 980 fb-1 of data at and around the Υ(nS)(n = 1, 2, 3, 4, 5) resonances collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e- collider, the two-photon process γγ → γψ(2S) is ...studied from the threshold to 4.2 GeV for the first time. Two structures are seen in the invariant mass distribution of γψ(2S): one at MR1 = 3922.4 ± 6.5 ± 2.0 MeV/c2 with a width of ΓR1 = 22 ± 17 ± 4 MeV, and another at MR2 = 4014.3 ± 4.0 ± 1.5 MeV/c2 with a width of ΓR2 = 4 ± 11 ± 6 MeV; the signals are parametrized with the incoherent sum of two Breit- Wigner functions. The first structure is consistent with the X(3915) or the χc2(3930), and the local statistical significance is determined to be 3.1σ with the systematic uncertainties included. The second matches none of the known charmonium or charmonium like states, and its global significance is determined to be 2.8σ including the look-elsewhere effect. The production rates are Γγγ B(R1 → γψ(2S)) = 9.8 ± 3.6 ± 1.2 eV assuming (JPC, |λ|) = (0++, 0) or 2.0 ± 0.7 ± 0.2 eV with (2++, 2) for the first structure and Γγγ B(R2 → γψ(2S)) = 6.2 ± 2.2 ± 0.8 eV with (0++, 0) or 1.2 ± 0.4 ± 0.2 eV with (2++, 2) for the second one. Furthermore, the first errors are statistical and the second systematic, and λ is the helicity.
The study of reactions involving sulfur anion radicals in organic synthesis has become an area of active research in the last few years. The role of polysulfide radicals in the electrochemical ...processes of lithium-sulfur (Li-S) batteries has been particularly discussed. Understanding the pathways of the electrochemical reactions is crucial for improving the performance of Li-S batteries. In order to summarize and analyze the most relevant literature data, the review presents information on the application and study of sulfur anion radicals in organic synthesis and methods for the determination of sulfur forms. We have classified and discussed in detail the spectra of various forms of sulfur in the ultraviolet and visible ranges. The article describes the choice of solvent, the correlation between the properties of solvents, the influence of the nature of the solvent on the absorption band shift of sulfur particles and on the stability of the anion radical, the identification of sulfur forms in the ultraviolet and visible spectrum regions, and the possibility of stabilizing anion radicals by complexation with crown ethers. The absorption bands for S22-, S32-, S52-, S72- strongly overlap with other particles while having lower intensities, leading to different conclusions regarding the distribution of polysulfides and different forms of sulfur in aqueous media. The data presented in the review have an applied meaning, contribute to the understanding of the application of sulfur anion radicals in organic synthesis and can be used for the choice of method for the determination of sulfur forms and solvent. This review article may be of interest to specialists in the field and will help to plan studies on the study of sulfur forms and the interpretation of spectra of different sulfur forms.
We report a search for a heavy neutral lepton (HNL) that mixes predominantly with ν τ . The search utilizes data collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric energy e + e − collider. The ...data sample was collected at and just below the center-of-mass energies of the ϒ ( 4 S ) and ϒ ( 5 S ) resonances and has an integrated luminosity of 915 fb − 1 , corresponding to ( 836 ± 12 ) × 10 6 e + e − → τ + τ − events. We search for production of the HNL (denoted N ) in the decay τ − → π − N followed by its decay via N → μ + μ − ν τ . The search focuses on the parameter-space region in which the HNL is long-lived, so that the μ + μ − originate from a common vertex that is significantly displaced from the collision point of the KEKB beams. Consistent with the expected background yield, one event is observed in the data sample after application of all the event-selection criteria. We report limits on the mixing parameter of the HNL with the τ neutrino as a function of the HNL mass. Published by the American Physical Society 2024
We present the results of the first Dalitz plot analysis of the decay D0 → K−π+η. The analysis is performed on a data set corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 953 fb−1 collected by the ...Belle detector at the asymmetric-energy e+e− KEKB collider. The Dalitz plot is well described by a combination of the six resonant decay channels K* ( 892 )0η, K−a0 ( 980 )+, K−a2 ( 1320 )+, K* ( 1410 )0η, K* ( 1680 )−π+ and K2* ( 1980 )−π+, together with Kπ and Kη S-wave components. The decays K* ( 1680 )− → K−η and K2* ( 1980 )− → K−η are observed for the first time. We measure ratio of the branching fractions, ... (B PDG).
