Here, we report the first search for the JPC=0-- glueball in Υ ( 1S ) and Υ ( 2S ) decays with data samples of ( 102±2 ) ×106 and ( 158±4 ) ×106 events, respectively, collected with the Belle ...detector. No significant signals are observed in any of the proposed production modes, and the 90% credibility level upper limits on their branching fractions in Υ ( 1S ) and Υ ( 2S ) decays are gained. The inclusive branching fractions of the Υ ( 1S ) and Υ ( 2S ) decays into final states with a χc1 are measured to be B ( Υ ( 1S ) → χc1+anything ) = ( 1.90±0.43 ( stat ) ±0.14 ( syst ) ) ×10-4 with an improved precision over prior measurements and B ( Υ ( 2S ) → χc1+anything ) = ( 2.24±0.44 ( stat ) ±0.20 ( syst ) ) ×10-4 for the first time.

No ...significant signals are observed in any of the proposed production modes, and the 90% credibility level upper limits on their branching fractions in Y(1S) andY(2S) decays are obtained. The inclusive branching fractions of the Y(1S) and Y(2S) decays into final states with a χc1 are measured to be B(Y(1S) → χc1 þ anything = (1.90± 0.43(stat) ± 0.14(syst)) × 10-4 with an improved precision over prior measurements and → χc1 + anything) = (2.24 ±0.44(stat) 0.20(syst)) × 10-4 for the first time.
The use of preimplantation diagnosis for sex determination and detection of exon deletion means that unaffected babies can be born to parents suffering from Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD). ...However, those who do not have exon deletion should also be considered for further investigation. A new method, known as linkage analysis, has been developed to diagnose the presence of non-deletion DMD in preimplantation embryos. Linkage analysis uses informative intragenic and flanking markers to track the chromosome bearing the mutated gene. The present study reports the analysis of two polymorphic sites, in blastomeres biopsied from embryos from a female carrier of DMD. A single male embryo was obtained who had inherited alternate maternal alleles to the woman's affected surviving son, and this embryo was transferred.
We report a measurement of the B0 → ψ(2S)π0 branching fraction based on the full Υ(4S) data set of 772 × 106 BB¯ pairs collected by the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e– collider. We ...obtain B(B0 → ψ(2S)π0) = (1.17 ± 0.17(stat) ± 0.08(syst)) × 10–5. Here, the result has a significance of 7.2 standard deviations and is the first observation of the decay B0 → ψ(2S)π0.
Abstract
The small binding energy of the hypertriton leads to predictions of the non-existence of bound hypernuclei for isotriplet three-body systems such as nnΛ. However, invariant mass spectroscopy ...at GSI has reported events that may be interpreted as the bound nnΛ state. The nnΛ state was sought by missing-mass spectroscopy via the (e, e′K+) reaction at Jefferson Lab’s experimental Hall A. The present experiment has higher sensitivity to the nnΛ-state investigation in terms of better precision by a factor of about three. The analysis shown in this article focuses on the derivation of the reaction cross-section for the 3H(γ*, K+)X reaction. Events that were detected in an acceptance, where a Monte Carlo simulation could reproduce the data well ($|\delta p/p| \lt 4\%$), were analyzed to minimize the systematic uncertainty. No significant structures were observed with the acceptance cuts, and the upper limits of the production cross-section of the nnΛ state were obtained to be 21 and $31 \, \rm {nb} \, \rm {sr}^{-1}$ at the $90\%$ confidence level when theoretical predictions of (−BΛ, Γ) = (0.25, 0.8) MeV and (0.55, 4.7) MeV, respectively, were assumed. The cross-section result provides valuable information for examining the existence of nnΛ.
The first measurements of differential branching fractions of inclusive semileptonic B→X_{u}ℓ^{+}ν_{ℓ} decays are performed using the full Belle data set of 711 fb^{-1} of integrated luminosity at ...the ϒ(4S) resonance and for ℓ=e, μ. With the availability of these measurements, new avenues for future shape-function model-independent determinations of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element |V_{ub}| can be pursued to gain new insights in the existing tension with respect to exclusive determinations. The differential branching fractions are reported as a function of the lepton energy, the four-momentum-transfer squared, light-cone momenta, the hadronic mass, and the hadronic mass squared. They are obtained by subtracting the backgrounds from semileptonic B→X_{c}ℓ^{+}ν_{ℓ} decays and other processes, and corrected for resolution and acceptance effects.

There have been many recent developments in compound semiconductor nanowire photovoltaic devices. Of these, advances in nanowire synthesis and performance enable nanowires to be implemented for ...efficient and low-cost solar-energy-harvesting devices. On the other hand, many challenges in device fabrication must be resolved in order for nanowires to assure a role at the forefront of solar cell technology.
