Bone marrow cells of various animal species and the human produce a group of bioregulatory peptides called myelopeptides (MPs). A highly purified myelopeptide (MP) fraction and some individual ...molecules have been isolated from the supernatant of the porcine bone marrow cell culture by successive gel chromatography and HPLC. Myelopeptides have a wide spectrum of functions including immunoregulatory, differentiating, and opiate-like activities. A new immunoreactive drug, Myelopidum, has been created on the basis of myelopeptides. This drug is effectively used in Russian medicine for treating diseases accompanied by immunodeficiency and in veterinary practice for prophylaxis and treatment of newborn and young animals with such diseases as pneumonia and enteritis. Treatment of patients by Myelopidum after major surgery prevents 50 to 70 percent of postsurgical complications, particularly postsurgical pneumonia. Myelopidum normalizes the number and balance of T helper and T suppressor cells and B lymphocytes in patients with chronic pulmonary diseases and promotes the beneficial clinical effect of significant prolongation of periods of remission.
Analysis of the TRIP-effect has been implemented by means of series of axisymmetric compressive tests on a Si-Mn bearing TRIP-assisted steel heat treated to vary the amount of retained austenite from ...5.70 to 9.11%. The cylindrical samples were deformed with true strains of 0.25, 0.5 and 1, and constant strain rate of 0.1 s−1 at room temperature. Microstructural examination of the samples indicates that most of the deformation is sustained by the weakest phase, ferrite. The stress-strain data was fitted to different constitutive equations to evaluate the point at which the TRIP-effect triggers. The results showed that the amount of retained austenite is reduced with the increase of strain. No complete transformation of austenite was found to occur as a fraction of austenite remains untransformed even at equivalent strains as high as one. The behaviour of samples with different amounts of retained austenite, but of equal carbon content, was found to depend on the volume fraction of this structure. It was found that the TRIP-effect was triggered at lower strains, but higher stresses, as the amount of this phase increased.

Stabilization of homoleptic
tris-aryl rare-earth metal complexes (Y, Sm, Dy, Nd, Lu) was achieved when benzylic CH

ortho-metallated dimethylbenzylamine (dmba) are substituted by one or two methyl groups (tmba, cuda ligands).

To investigate the effect of adenosine kinase inhibition on interleukin (IL)-1β- and lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced cartilage damage.
Articular cartilage was obtained from the metacarpophalangeal ...joints of 10 young adult horses. Following a stabilization period, weighed cartilage explants were exposed to IL-1β (10
ng/ml) or LPS (50
μg/ml) to induce cartilage degradation. To test the potential protective effects of adenosine, these explants were simultaneously exposed to adenosine (100
μM), the adenosine kinase inhibitor 5′iodotubercidin (ITU, 1
μM) or to both adenosine and ITU. After 72
h in culture, conditioned medium was collected for evaluation of glycosaminoglycan (GAG), nitric oxide (NO), prostaglandin E
2 (PGE
2) and matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)-3 release.
IL-1β and LPS stimulated significant release of GAG, NO, PGE
2 and MMP-3. Incubation with ITU significantly inhibited both IL-1β- and LPS-induced GAG release, but did not alter MMP-3 production. Exposure to ITU also reduced IL-1β-induced PGE
2 release and LPS-induced NO production. Direct adenosine supplementation did not attenuate the effects of IL-1β or LPS, and the addition of adenosine or ITU in the absence of IL-1β or LPS did not have any detectable effect on cartilage metabolism in this model.
The adenosine kinase inhibitor ITU attenuated experimentally induced cartilage damage in an
in vitro cartilage explant model. Release of adenosine from chondrocytes may play a role in the cellular response to tissue damage in arthritic conditions and modulation of these pathways in the joint may have potential for treatment of arthropathies.
When designing the substation, special attention should be paid to the development of the system of own needs, since the reliability of the equipment depends on the correct operation of their own ...needs. The main task when designing your own needs is the correct determination of the load, which depends on the number and power of transformers, type of substation, type of operating current, type of switches and so on. In order to speed up the process of calculating the load in the work, it is proposed to use a database containing information about all the loads of their own needs, as well as electrical devices necessary for the design of the system. In addition, the database contains data on operational current systems. In this paper, it is proposed to carry out computer-aided design of the substation's own needs system based on algorithms implemented in the original CAD switchgear software. This will accelerate the design process and eliminate errors and inaccuracies, as well as save the design engineer from routine work. The work is carried out with the financial support of a grant from the President of the Russian Federation for young scientists - candidates of sciences MK-939.2019.8.
