The past few years witnessed the rapid development of bottom-up synthesis strategies for preparing various nanostructures (i.e., nanoparticles, nanorods, nanowires, etc.) with distinct ...morphology-dependent properties. In this study, we reported a facile and efficient synthesis method for preparing anatase titanium dioxide (TiO2) nanorings based on multiarm, starlike amphiphilic polystyrene-b-poly(acrylic acid) (PS-b-PAA) diblock copolymers as nanoreactors which were prepared via a sequential atom-transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) technique followed by the conversion of polystyrene-b-poly(tert-butyl acrylate) (PS-b-PtBA) to PS-b-PAA. The outer PAA block of nanoreactors possessed carboxylic acid groups which could coordinate with a titanium precursor followed by high-temperature calcination to form crystalline TiO2 nanorings. The living nature of ATRP enabled the precise preparation of starlike diblock copolymer nanoreactors with a controlled length of each block (i.e., PtBA and PS), thereby tailoring the inner diameter and wall thickness of the resulting TiO2 nanorings, which were inaccessible to conventional routes.

Here in this work, we aimed to determine the proangiogenesis effect of a puerarin-attached lignin nanoparticle-incorporated hydrogel and explore the underlying mechanism.Puerarin-attached lignin nanoparticles were fabricated and mixed with the GelMA hydrogel. After the hydrogel was characterized, the angiogenic effect was evaluated in a mouse hind-limb ischemia model. To further explore the mechanism of angiogenesis, human endothelial cell line EA.hy926 was exposure to different concentrations of puerarin. Wound healing assays and tube formation assays were used to investigate the effects of puerarin on cell migration and angiogenesis. qPCR and Western blotting were performed to determine the changes in the levels of angiogenesis indicators, autophagy indicators and PPARβ/δ. 3-MA was used to assess the role of autophagy in the puerarin-mediated angiogenesis effect in vivo and in vitro.Materials and MethodsPuerarin-attached lignin nanoparticles were fabricated and mixed with the GelMA hydrogel. Electric shovel is a large-scale excavation equipment, which often suffer from discontinuous and inefficient excavation due to complicated mine condition. To address these challenges, a ...multi-objective optimization strategy for electric shovel is proposed to achieve an efficient, stable and intelligent operation. Firstly, the dynamical model of the electric shovel system is established based on Lagrange method. Then, the minimum energy consumption per volume and minimum relief angle difference are regarded as the optimization formulation considering multiple system constraints. Finally, the strategy is applied to the ROS-based intelligent prototype of shovel to verify the effectiveness. The results show that the multi-objective optimization strategy of the excavation trajectory has great guiding significance for the design of the intelligent electric shovel.
The development of green energy conversion devices such as metal air battery relies on the use of efficient reversible oxygen electrocatalyst. Commonly used precious metal catalyst could not support ...the large scale application of these devices due to their high cost and limited stability. In this paper, we report the synthesis of a coordination polymer and its use for the preparation of oxygen electrocatalyst. Our results show that the use of the coordination polymer as catalyst precursor could results in a homogeneous catalyst with both high activity and good stability, which is close to that of commercial Pt/C catalyst. Our results show that the nitrogen doped carbon wrapped Fe3O4 could function as a promising oxygen catalyst in a variety of applications.
Syphilis, a sexually transmitted disease, is commonly referred to as the "great imitator" because of its wide-ranging clinical presentations. Recently, we noticed that patients with neurosyphilis ...(NS) seemed to be more susceptible to complications of diabetes mellitus (DM). This is an interesting phenomenon, but it also puzzles clinicians because of scant knowledge about this situation.
A case-control study was conducted to explore the association between NS and DM. Clinical data and the prevalence of DM among NS patients, patients with syphilis but not NS (syphilis/non-NS), non-syphilis patients, and healthy controls were analyzed. In addition, we explored the time of occurrence of NS and DM.
Fasting plasma glucose and HbA1c levels in NS patients were significantly higher than in syphilis/non-NS patients, non-syphilis patients, and healthy controls (P < 0.05). In all, 45 of 149 NS patients (30.2%) were diagnosed with DM. The prevalence of DM in NS patients was significantly higher than in the other three groups (P < 0.05). There was no relationship between the prevalence of DM and the type of NS (e.g. asymptomatic NS, syphilitic meningitis, meningovascular NS, general paresis, and tabes dosalis). In the study population, 57.8% of NS patients were diagnosed with DM at the same time, whereas 80.0% were diagnosed with DM within 5 years of their diagnosis of NS.
Based on the results of the present study, DM is not merely an occasional chance occurrence in NS patients. There is an association between NS and DM.
Background
Syphilis, a sexually transmitted disease, is commonly referred to as the “great imitator” because of its wide‐ranging clinical presentations. Recently, we noticed that patients with ...neurosyphilis (NS) seemed to be more susceptible to complications of diabetes mellitus (DM). This is an interesting phenomenon, but it also puzzles clinicians because of scant knowledge about this situation.
Methods
A case‐control study was conducted to explore the association between NS and DM. Clinical data and the prevalence of DM among NS patients, patients with syphilis but not NS (syphilis/non‐NS), non‐syphilis patients, and healthy controls were analyzed. In addition, we explored the time of occurrence of NS and DM.
Results
Fasting plasma glucose and HbA1c levels in NS patients were significantly higher than in syphilis/non‐NS patients, non‐syphilis patients, and healthy controls (P < 0.05).
Conclusions
Based on the results of the present study, DM is not merely an occasional chance occurrence in NS patients. There is an association between NS and DM.
Reliability is extremely important for large-scale cloud systems like Microsoft 365. Cloud failures such as disk failure, node failure, etc. threaten service reliability, resulting in online service ...interruptions and economic loss. Existing works focus on predicting cloud failures and proactively taking action before failures happen. However, they suffer from poor data quality like data missing in model training and prediction, which limits the performance. In this paper, we focus on enhancing data quality through data imputation by the proposed Diffusion+, a sample-efficient diffusion model, to impute the missing data efficiently based on the observed data. Our experiments and application practice show that our model contributes to improving the performance of the downstream failure prediction task.
