This article presents the effect of fibers in the polymer concrete. The concrete was designed with M25 grade concrete and 10% of Bisfenol –A was added to produce polymer concrete. Few mixes are ...planned with incorporation of steel fibers in the proportion of 1 and 2% by volume. In all the mixes manufacture sand was used instead of river sand. The tests are conducted to estimate compressive, split and flexural strengths. From the results it is noticed that, the strengths are increasing with incorporation of polymer and steel fibers.
This article provides the behavior of polymer two way slab under four point concentrated loading. The slab with dimension of 600x600x75mm has been tested under simply supported condition. The slab ...was prepared with M20 grade concrete and this concrete mix was supplemented by 10% Bethemcharla stone powder and 10%Bisphenol-A epoxy polymer. In addition those additives steel fibers were added to the mix in the proportion of 0, 1 and 2% by volume. One more mix was cast without any additives and it considers as reference mix and used for comparison of other slabs. The slabs with additives in the mix showed superior performance in strength and stiffness characteristics. From the results it found that, the slab with 2% steel fiber showed 41.30% higher strength than the reference slab.
Real world problems can be analyzed and solved effectively and efficiently by observing the environment and its phenomenon. The evolution of such systematic handling of the problematic scenario to find an amicable and efficient solution can be applied to real world physical problems. Thus the application of procedures (algorithms) by different species has evolved into a novel idea referred as Nature Inspired Algorithms. It has gained wider publicity and popularity in the present research. One of the most popular nature inspired algorithm which has grabbed the attention of the world is Firefly Algorithm (FA).The Firefly Algorithm has a wide range of applicability in different disciplines. We tried to compare this algorithm along with its variants. We also throw some light on various characteristics of the Firefly Algorithm that makes it a far more efficient algorithm when compared to the rest of such similar algorithms.
This paper presents the fiber effect in the polymer concrete. The concrete is prepared with 10% Bethemcharla stone powder as replacement to cement and 10% of Bisphenol-A polymer to the concrete ...mixes. The fibers were incorporated to the concrete in the proportion of 0,1 and 2% by volume of specimen. The study mainly focused to evaluate compressive, split, shear and flexural strengths of concrete. Tests conducted on cube, cylinder and beam specimens and from the results it is found that, the fiber seeding to mixes enhances the strength properties. In addition to the mixes, plan cement concrete mix without stone powder and polymer is prepared and tested for the same strengths, this mix is considered as reference mix for comparison purpose. For present experimental work few mathematical models are established to assess strengths in association of cube compressive strength.
