This study examined structural and process predictors of Chinese parental satisfaction toward early childhood education (ECE) services in the Chinese sociocultural context. The two-level hierarchical ...linear model was used to investigate the structural and process predictors of parents' satisfaction toward ECE services among 532 parents coming from 48 kindergarten classrooms in a southern China province. Findings indicated that educational level and annual income on parent-level were positively related to their satisfaction. Although classroom-level variables altogether explained a large percentage of parental satisfaction, only the structural quality predictors of teachers' teaching experiences and class size, as well as the process quality predictor of the emotional support, were identified to be significant predictors of parental satisfaction toward multiple dimensions of ECE services. Implications for ECE service providers, policymakers, and professionals are discussed.
•Investigated structural and process predictors of Chinese parental satisfaction.•The two-level hierarchical linear model was used.•Educational level and annual income were parent-level predictors.•Teaching experiences and class size were significant structural predictors.•The quality of emotional support was the only significant process predictor.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to develop and validate the Work Information Anxiety Questionnaire (WIAQ), and to report on the psychometric properties of the WIAQ. Methods: Based on the ...Approach-Avoidance Conflict theory, and combining previous literature reviews and open-ended interviews, initial scale items for the Work Information Anxiety Questionnaire were developed. Using 324 full-time corporate employees as subjects (Sample 1), an exploratory structural examination of work information anxiety was conducted, including item analysis, exploratory factor analysis, and network analysis. An additional 210 corporate employees were selected for formal testing (Sample 2), and the obtained data underwent structural validation, including confirmatory factor analysis, validity testing, and reliability testing. Results: The WIAQ (9 items) exhibited a two-factor structure of reception anxiety and missing out anxiety, with a cumulative variance contribution rate of 67.56%. The confirmatory factor model showed good model fit, with cross-group and cross-measurement stability. The Cronbach's alpha of the WIAQ was 0.899, and the McDonald's omega of the two factors were 0.906 and 0.831 respectively. The WIAQ demonstrated good criterion-related validity with the SAS and DASS. Conclusion: The factor structure of the WIAQ is clear, and its reliability and validity indicators meet psychometric requirements. It can serve as an effective tool for measuring work information anxiety. Keywords: work information anxiety, reception anxiety, missing out anxiety, approach-avoidance conflict theory, network analysis
Depression has become a topic of widespread concern around the world, and teachers' depression has also had an important impact on the healthy development of education. However, there are differences ...in the cognitive theory of depression and positive psychology about the mechanism of depression. This study attempts to verify the related viewpoints of the two viewpoints through empirical research.
Three hundred and twenty eight preschool teachers were measured with authenticity scale, five facet mindfulness questionnaire, center for epidemiologic studies depression scale, and general alienation scale.
Individual authenticity negatively predicted depression. Mindfulness can mediate the relationship between individual authenticity and depression. Self-alienation mediates the relationship between individual authenticity and depression. In addition, mindfulness and self-alienation played a sequential mediating role between individual authenticity and depression.
Mindfulness and self-alienation play a sequential mediating role between individual authenticity and depression. This study not only confirms the relevant theoretical viewpoints of positive psychology on depression, but also believes that individual depression is not only affected by one's own negative bias but also by one's own positive factors. At the same time, the individual's own positive factors will affect the negative factors. This perspective will provide new literature references to existing relevant theories about depression. In addition, this study will also provide literature reference for early childhood education practice.
Since 2010, the Chinese government has adopted a series of services and policies to provide early childhood education for disadvantaged children. The rapid economic development and urbanisation ...process since the mid-1980s have led to great changes in social structure and demographics in China. This creates new challenges for the education of disadvantaged children. One important issue to be addressed is the lack of quality education opportunities for a special group of disadvantaged children in China, children of migrant worker families. This article presents the social background of migrant children in China, analyses early childhood education system of China, and argues for equal education rights for migrant children. Finally, according to our long-term analysis of practice and policy in early childhood education, we discuss current problems and present future directions for providing compensatory education for these children.
In this paper, we propose an audio based piano performance evaluation system for piano learning, aiming at giving objective feedbacks to the piano beginners so that their self-practicing could be ...more efficient. We target to build a system which could evaluate the performance of an input recorded piano audio signal like an expert. First, we extract the Constant-Q transform (CQT) spectrum from audio signals as the feature sequences. Then, we employ Dynamic Time Warping(DTW) algorithm on the CQT feature sequences to align the input with the template. On top of the aligned feature sequence pair, we extract multiple global features that relating with the similarities and rhythms. Finally, we apply linear regression upon these global features with the training data to estimate the expert generated performance scores for test audio. Experimental results show that our system achieves 2.89 average absolute score error and 0.77 average correlation coefficient on our in-house collected dataset.
For a long time, the abuse of antibiotics and the excessive use of synthetic preservatives have caused harm to human health. Bacteriocins produced by lactic acid bacteria (LAB) are nontoxic and ...exhibit potential as natural preservatives. In this experiment, the bacteriocin 1.0320 produced by Lactobacillus rhamnosus 1.0320 screened from traditional koumiss was used as the research object. The main purpose of the experiment was to purify bacteriocin 1.0320 and study its antimicrobial mechanism. Bacteriocin 1.0320 exhibited antimicrobial activity against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. Bacteriocin 1.0320 in cell-free fermentation supernatant (CFS) was purified by ethyl acetate extraction and anion exchange chromatography. The molecular mass of bacteriocin 1.0320 was 1–3.3 KDa as assessed by dialysis and Tricine sodium dodecyl sulphate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (Tricine-SDS-PAGE). The minimum inhibitory concentration of bacteriocin 1.0320 on Escherichiacoli UB1005 was 0.072 mg/mL. Bacteriocin 1.0320 can form pores on the surface of cell membrane, increase the permeability of cell membrane, dissipate the cytoplasmic membrane potential and transmembrane pH gradient, and destroy the integrity of cell membrane, causing cell content to flow out and cell death. The effect is related to the concentration of bacteriocin 1.0320. This information provides the theoretical basis for the antimicrobial mechanism of L. rhamnosus bacteriocin.
•A novel bacteriocin produced by Lactobacillus rhamnosus was purified and analysis.•The bacteriocin 1.0320 had a broad antimicrobial spectrum.•Bacteriocin 1.0320 increased cell outer membrane permeability, dissipated ΔΨ and ΔpH.•Bacteriocin 1.0320 destroy the integrity of cell membrane.•Observed the microstructure change of E. coli by SEM and TEM.
With advancements in artificial intelligence, wearable motion recognition systems based on flexible nanomaterial sensors exhibit excellent potential for harmonious human–machine interaction. However, ...the sensing stability and demand of large‐scale arrays limit the application of flexible nanomaterial sensors. Herein, a data glove system based on simple multiwalled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) sensors and a lightweight deep‐learning algorithm to achieve accurate gesture recognition is proposed. A regional‐crack mechanism is introduced through the microspine structure to enhance the strain sensitivity. Moreover, an efficient signal processing strategy based on an adaptive wavelet threshold function to improve the robustness and anti‐interference of signals obtained from MWCNT sensors, which exhibit strong generalization and can be used in other nanomaterial strain sensor. Based on the depth‐wise separable convolution, a novel hybrid convolutional neural network (CNN) long short‐term memory (LSTM) model for gesture recognition is constructed. The proposed model achieves an average accuracy of 97.5% and recognition accuracy of 30 gestures with an average recognition time of 2.173 ms based on only five sensors. The fabricated data glove is a promising platform for low‐cost and wearable human–machine interaction that can be directly interfaced in applications such as robotic hands, smart cars, and first‐person shooting games.

Hypopharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (HPSCC) is an aggressive disease in the head and neck region. Therefore, simple and useful prognostic predictors of HPSCC are needed for clinical practice. This ...study investigates the prognostic significance of preoperative neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) in patients with HPSCC who received radical resections.
Retrospective review was conducted on medical records at a tertiary referral hospital involving 146 consecutive patients who underwent radical resection for HPSCC between January 2000 and December 2010. The prognostic significance of NLR and other clinicopathologic factors was analyzed. The relationships between the NLR value and clinicopathologic factors were also evaluated.
The study cohort consisted of 146 patients with HPSCC, with a mean age of 57.5 years (range, 34-89 years). The median number of NLR was 2.28 (range, 0.71-8.75). On the basis of this median value, the cutoff value of NLR was set as 2.3. The patients were divided into 2 groups: a low (<2.3) NLR group and a high (≥2.3) NLR group. Patients with NLR of 2.3 or more had significantly higher incidence of wound complications (P = 0.026). The 3-year overall survival rate was 69.9% in patients in the low NLR group and 27.4% in those in the high NLR group (P <0.001; hazard ratio;2.99; 95% confidence interval, 1.91-4.67).
Results showed that high preoperative NLR is associated with increased wound complications and poor survival in patients with HPSCC.
This study investigated the effects and Numerical Rating Pain Scale (NRS) of using absorbable shanching satin rb-bFGF prepreg sheet and expansion hemostatic sponge together nasal packing in the ...control of epistaxis with blood disease, and compared it with traditional vaseline gauze.
Ninety-six blood disease patient with epistaxis were enrolled between January 2009 and February 2011, they were divided into two groups at random, and differently treated with absorbable shanching satin rb-bFGF prepreg sheet and the vaseline gauze nasal packing for haemostasis. Then haemostasis efficacy, the hemorrhage rate after nasal packing removed and host response, such as nasal pain and headache, which evaluated pain degrees against NRS, were all observed.
There was no significant difference between the two groups of the haemostatic effect. But the hemorrhage rate of treatment group was obviously lower than that of the control group after paching,in addition, host responses, such as nasal pain and headache, remarkably better
