The aim: To improve the psoriatic arthritis treatment outcomes by establishing and implementing into practice operative treatment.
Materials and methods: The study basis is represented with the ...results of examination and treatment of 252 patients with psoriatic arthritis. The biopsy samples from the problem psoriatic eruption and intact skins regions, received from 74 patients, were studied.
Results: The study has established presence of Staphylococcus aureus in affected skin regions. The authors present their classification of structural muscular-skeletal disorders associated with psoriatic arthritis, which will substantiate the volume and character of operative interventions.
Conclusions: Detection of numerous opportunistic pathogenic microorganism colonies stipulates for the necessary skin debridement while planning further operative treatment, aimed at correction of anatomical and biological abnormalities. The operative intervention volume depends on the severity of structural dysfunctions.
Purpose: The aim of the study is to investigate extremism as a complex inter-branch concept which complicates law enforcement practice.
Methodology: This is an analytic-dialectical research whose ...data are obtained through the analysis of historical, legal and sociological texts and data.
Main Findings: When defining extremism in the basic law of anti-extremist legislation, it is necessary to proceed from the fact that the phenomenon, the concept of which should be formulated, is manifested in different spheres of social and political life. In conclusion, extremism creates an ideological basis for terrorism, but the acts of terrorism go beyond the concept of extremism.
Applications: This article can be used by regional schools, cultural organizations and universities.
Novelty/Originality: In this study, correlation between the phenomena of terrorism and extremism has been studied on the basis of definition for terrorist act given in part 1 of article 205 of the criminal code of the Russian Federation.
Aim: The aim of the study is to analyze the features of the spectrum of lipids of the water-lipid mantle of the skin before and after pathogenetically sound therapy of patients with psoriasis.
...Methods: Comparative evaluation of the therapeutic efficacy of monotherapy with the immunobiological drug Humir (adalimumab), as well as its combination with a non-hormonal drug based on natural components Psori Active (cream) in the examined patients with psoriasis vulgaris was performed according to the dynamics of regression of dermatoses clinical manifestations erythema, infiltration, peeling of the skin psoriatic rash, changes in the index PASI, PGA, BSA.
Results: The study involved 137 patients. Changes in the level of other components of the lipid spectrum of the water-lipid mantle of the skin, in particular phospholipids, cholesterol and cholesterol esters in patients of the first observation group changed insignificantly compared to their values before treatment. When comparing the normalization of the level of the studied spectrum of lipids of the water-lipid mantle of the skin in patients of the second group with different seasonal types (autumn-winter, spring-summer, off-season) and previously diagnosed with varying severity treatment, no statistically significant differences were found between seasonal types of dermatosis.
Conclusion: Analysis of the results of clinical follow-up of the examined patients with psoriasis of the first and second groups after completion of treatment and achieving clinical clinical remission indicates significant benefits of systemic immunobiological therapy in combination with topical therapy with Psori Active.
Aims: To evaluate Atopic dermatitis (AD) and Chronic hand eczema (CHE) course in adults after discontinuation of acute or sub acute relapse treatment.
Study Design: three groups of adult patients ...that finished standard treatment for relapse of AD and CHE were followed up within 24 weeks of period to check disease severity, itch intensity and skin management effectiveness.
Place and Duration of Study Sample: population of Ivano-Frankivsk region of Ukraine September 2015 – May 2021.
Methods: 155 patients (51 females and 104 males; age between 20 and 50 years) with AD or CHE were enrolled in the study. The patients were randomized into three study groups depending on diagnosis. SCORAD index was used to assess disease severity, visual analog scale (VAS) was used to assess skin itch intensity. Frequency of disease treatment re-start with topical or systemic anti-inflammatory drugs as well as patients’sintention to ask for a treatment were calculated.
Results: Results of our study have shown that cases of new disease worsening occured within nearest 24 weeks after AD and CHE aggravation treatment discontinuation and are quite frequent despite appropriate skin care.
Conclusion: part of adult patients continues suffering from skin itch or mild skin lesions within nearest 24 weeks after discontinuation of intensive treatment of AD or CHE relapse. Prescription of antihistamines and/or topical anti-inflammatory treatment in addition to generally recommended skin care with emollients is crucial for patients with new worsening of the disease. Among patients with a new signs of worsening a part would unlikely ask for a new treatment immediately unless this worsening is moderate or severe.
Background
Chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU) is unpredictable and can severely impair patients' quality of life. Patients with CSU need a convenient, user‐friendly platform to complete ...patient‐reported outcome measures (PROMs) on their mobile devices. CRUSE®, the Chronic Urticaria Self Evaluation app, aims to address this unmet need.
Methods
CRUSE® was developed by an international steering committee of urticaria specialists. Priorities for the app based on recent findings in CSU were defined to allow patients to track and record their symptoms and medication use over time and send photographs. The CRUSE® app collects patient data such as age, sex, disease onset, triggers, medication, and CSU characteristics that can be sent securely to physicians, providing real‐time insights. Additionally, CRUSE® contains PROMs to assess disease activity and control, which are individualised to patient profiles and clinical manifestations.
Results
CRUSE® was launched in Germany in March 2022 and is now available for free in 17 countries. It is adapted to the local language and displays a country‐specific list of available urticaria medications. English and Ukrainian versions are available worldwide. From July 2022 to June 2023, 25,710 observations were documented by 2540 users; 72.7% were females, with a mean age of 39.6 years. At baseline, 93.7% and 51.3% of users had wheals and angioedema, respectively. Second‐generation antihistamines were used in 74.0% of days.
Conclusions
The initial data from CRUSE® show the wide use and utility of effectively tracking patients' disease activity and control, paving the way for personalised CSU management.
In this paper, we present a hybrid refractive-diffractive lens that, when paired with a deep neural network-based image reconstruction, produces high-quality, real-world images with minimal ...artifacts, reaching a PSNR of 28 dB on the test set. Our diffractive element compensates for the off-axis aberrations of a single refractive element and has reduced chromatic aberrations across the visible light spectrum. We also describe our training set augmentation and novel quality criteria called "false edge level" (FEL), which validates that the neural network produces visually appealing images without artifacts under a wide range of ISO and exposure settings. Our quality criteria (FEL) enabled us to include real scene images without a corresponding ground truth in the training process.
Biomineralization of brain tissues occurs both in normal and pathological conditions. Dura mater biomineralization is widespread and occurs in 1-72% of cases, depending on the patient's age and ...research method. The amount of biomineral deposits under the conditions of tumor growth in the meninges only increases, reaching 100% in the case of psammomatous meningiomas. Since calcifications are often found in the meninges, the problem of differential diagnosis with calcified meningiomas arises. A total of 30 samples of meningiomas with signs of biomineralization-dense structure, characteristic crunch, psammoma bodies (group I) and 30 samples of meningiomas without any signs of biomineralization were examined as controls (group II). To detect pathological biomineralization, the meningioma tissue was studied using the methods of macroscopic description, histology, histochemistry, and immunohistochemistry, scanning electron microscopy with microanalysis, and transmission electron microscopy. A significantly higher level of caspase3 and features of the expression of osteoblastic markers (a lower level of OPG expression and a higher level of the presence of RANKL in group I, the absence of fluctuations in the expression of SPARC) may indicate a dystrophic type of development of biomineral deposits in meningiomas.
This study is focused on the development of liquid organic hydrogen carriers (LOHC) based on N-heterocyclic compounds. These LOHC-substrates are attractive for their lower hydrogen extraction ...temperature compared to cycloalkanes, which is caused by the low enthalpy of the dehydrogenation reaction of the N-heterocyclic compounds. The low hydrogen extraction temperature, as well as the low volatility of the heterocycles, provide high purity hydrogen from the reaction. Under similar reaction conditions, the comparison of the efficacy of three promising heterocycles (1-methyl-octahydroindole (8HMI), tetradecahydrophenazine and decahydroquinoline) was carried out in the presence of palladium-containing catalysts. As a result, the advantages of using catalysts supported by alumina, and the high perspectivity of the 8MHI application as a LOHC-substrate, were shown. The dehydrogenation of 8HMI in the presence of 1 wt.% Pd/Al2O3 allowed for reaching a 100% yield in hydrogen under the conditions of the standard catalytic test (1 h, 240 °C). In order to study the high reactivity of 8HMI, thermodynamic dehydrogenation reaction profiles were computationally evaluated, which showed that 8HMI was the most energetically preferred in the field of hydrogen storage from the studied heterocyclic compounds.
