Concrete with high content of admixture is effective in reducing the stress-strength ratio because of the low heat generation associated with the hydration reaction. However, concrete with high ...content of admixture is out of the scope of general stress-strength ratio estimation formulas. Therefore, the authors conducted an analytical study and developed a stress-strength ratio estimation formulas for concrete with high content of admixture. Case studies using this estimation formula showed that the estimated values can be evaluated safer than the analytical values, and that concrete with high content of admixture is more applicable to massive concrete.
We conducted a crack survey of floor slabs in distribution warehouses up to 5 years old. As a result, the crack coefficient at 5 years of age was about 70 × 10-6 to 100 × 10-6 on the 2nd and 3rd ...floors, and about 30 × 10-6 on the 4th floor. The reason why the 4th floor is smaller than the other floors is that it is used less frequently than the other floors and is less affected by external forces such as vehicle running, and the slab is less restrained than the other floors.

Crack control joints are generally used as ...countermeasures to prevent cracking, but they necessitate section loss rates of approximately 20% -30% of a wall’s diameter. The authors developed a new crack-control joint, installed only in the surface region where tensile stress is caused by the temperature differential between the inner and outer layers of massive concrete. Temperature stress analysis confirmed that tensile stress was concentrated in the experimental crack-control joint. In field application to walls at a construction site, cracking was not observed anywhere other than the installation location of the experimental crack-control joint.
We present a case of advanced HER2-positive male breast cancer, which showed a good response to a combined treatment of trastuzumab and paclitaxel. A 78-year-old man was diagnosed with invasive ...ductal carcinoma (T4d N3 M1, stage IV). He had advanced breast cancer consisting of multiple tumors with skin involvement and redness over the entire left chest region. A computed tomography (CT) scan of the chest revealed a metastatic tumor in the left lung. Histologically, both the primary breast cancer and the metastatic lung tumor were identified as invasive ductal carcinoma that was estrogen receptor-negative (ER)(−) and progesterone receptor-negative (PgR)(−), with a HER2 score of 3+ (IHC). The patient received a combination chemotherapy using trastuzumab and paclitaxel. Two months later, a follow-up chest CT scan showed that the left lung tumor had disappeared, suggesting a good response to trastuzumab and paclitaxel. During trastuzumab treatment, no severe adverse events above grade 3 were observed. This is the first reported case of advanced HER2-positive male breast cancer in which a good response to trastuzumab and paclitaxel was demonstrated at both primary breast cancer and metastatic sites.
Register transfer level power macro-modeling is a promising technique for accurate and efficient power estimation. This paper proposes an effective approach based on the table-based method of the RTL ...power macro-modeling. We propose the accurate table reference method which considers power library unevenness. The proposed method is applicable for various table-based estimation and outputs more proximal power value. The experimental results show the proposed methods reduces max error 46.48% in maximum for 8 benchmark circuits, comparing to conventional method. RMS (Root Mean Square) error is also improved 1.77% in maximum.
