A prototype of a new type of calorimeter has been designed and constructed, based on a silicon–tungsten sampling design using pixel sensors with digital readout. It makes use of the ALPIDE sensor ...developed for the ALICE Inner Tracking System (ITS) upgrade. A binary readout is possible due to the pixel size of ≈30×30μm2. This prototype has been successfully tested with cosmic muons and with test beams at DESY and the CERN SPS. We report on performance results obtained at DESY, showing good energy resolution and linearity, and compare to detailed MC simulations. Also shown are preliminary results of the high-energy performance as measured at the SPS. The two-shower separation capabilities are discussed.

It is established that the lack of technologies for the complete utilization of secondary PET - raw material sorted from municipal solid waste - raw materials is a threat to the sustainable ...development of the modern city. One of the promising ways of PET disposal is to use it to encapsulate mineral fertilizers. Under the laboratory conditions, the technology of PET modification and capsule application to mineral fertilizer particles under fluidized bed conditions has been successfully tested. Conducted pilot tests of the release of nutrition elements from mineral fertilizers encapsulated with modified PET, confirmed the uniformity and quality of the coating. Pilot studies have confirmed the effectiveness of the new form of obtained fertilizers.

genus. The crude extract from the biomass of this strain showed its activity against gram-positive bacteria, including polyresistant clinical isolates of
Staphylococcus
sp. The dereplication analysis of the extract of the strain Je 1–6 revealed lydicamycin and its congeners: 30-demethyllydicamycin, 30-demethyl-8-deoxylydicamycin, and 8-deoxylydicamycin. MLSA analysis based on the 16S rRNA gene and five housekeeping genes

Розглянуто проблеми з утилізації осадів стічних вод. Очищення комунальних стічних вод призводить до накопичення великої кількості осадів, що портебує раціонального та збалансованого підходу до їх ...утилізації. Осад стічних вод є цінним енергетичним та матеріальним ресурсом, який можна використовувати як вторинну сировину. Найпопулярнішими методами утилізації є: захоронення, спалювання, використання у сільському господарстві як добрив, виробництво будівельних матеріалів. Охарактеризовано нові способи з утилізації осадів стічних вод, які використовують у світі, серед яких: рекультивація земель, кар'єрів та звалищ, виробництво біогазу та теплової енергії, виділення цінних елементів і металів, а також виробництво адсорбентів. Встановлено, що у США та країнах Європейського Союзу основну кількість утворюваних осадів використовують у сільському господарстві як добрива, а в Японії – для виробництва будівельних матеріалів. Розглянуто наявні проблеми, які пов'язані з накопиченням та утилізацією осадів стічних вод в Україні. Більшість осадів, які утворюються на території України, підлягають захороненню. Визначено можливість використання осадів стічних вод у виробництві будівельних матеріалів та виготовленні коагулянтів. Встановлено, що в умовах України найперспективнішим методом утилізації осадів стічних вод є використання їх як добрив у сільському господарстві.
Проаналізовано екологічні проблеми, котрі пов'язані із автомобільною галуззю, зокрема транспортування. Грамотному прийняттю рішень щодо покращення екологічних аспектів транспортних засобів для ...державного чи приватного бізнесу допомагає такий інструмент екологічного менеджменту як Оцінка Життєвого Циклу. Цей метод полягає у визначенні усіх чинників впливу на стан навколишнього природного середовища на кожному етапі виробництва продукції. Здійснено експериментальні дослідження щодо визначення впливу на довкілля автомобілів із бензиновим двигуном (ЄВРО-3 та ЄВРО-5) та електромобілем (Tesla Semi) завдяки сертифікованій комп'ютерній програмі з екологічного моделювання SimaPro 8 в режимі роботи "Invenatary". Проведено розрахунок за допомогою алгоритму LCA Wizard, який є розробкою компанії "PRé Sustainability". Результатами цього моделювання стали оцінки в Impact Points, згідно зі значеннями яких використання електричних агрегатів є ефективнішим в 1,73 раза порівняно зі стандартом палива ЄВРО-3 та в 1,53 – порівняно зі стандартом палива ЄВРО-5, навіть за умови використання ідентичного типу викопного палива. Визначення впливу на категорії, а саме: Здоров'я суспільства; Якість екосистем; Зміна клімату; Ресурси – допомагатиме здійснити оцінку загального впливу на стан навколишнього середовища на будь-якій стадії автомобілебудування, експлуатації та споживання енергоресурсів.
The authors propose fundamentally new design-technological solutions for compact volumetric mirrorized LED modules with increased power. Test samples of volumetric light-effective LED light effective ...modules with a power of 10—15 W and light output of 105—160 lm/W for domestic retrofit lamps based on high-efficiency SMD, mini COB, and COB LEDs of third generation were manufactured and tested.
Positive technical and practical results were obtained by increasing by over 4—6 times the size of holders — heat sinks (compared to LED modules of flat holders) for heat dissipation from the LEDs by conduction and heat radiation, as well as by increasing light efficiency of LED lamps due to the additional light re-reflection by mirrorized reflectors-radiators in the bulb which is diffuser of the lamp light.
У Львівській області випадки інфекцій, пов’язаних із наданням медичної допомоги (ІПНМД), у дітей зустрічаються, але практично не реєструються. За період 2019-2021 рр. не зареєстрованого жодного ...випадку. Мета - виділити та порівняти видовий склад потенційних збудників ІПНМД у дітей та дорослих у стаціонарах м. Львова. Матеріали та методи. Матеріал для дослідження забирали в дітей із різних біологічних ніш, які перебували на стаціонарному лікуванні в лікарнях міста Львова. Ідентифікацію проводили за допомогою наборів «MIKRO-LA-TEST» виробництва «Erba Lachema». Антибіотикочутливість визначали згідно з рекомендаціями EUCAST. Статистичну обробку даних виконано з допомогою програми «Microsoft Excel 2007». Результати. Серед виділеної грам позитивної мікробіоти, що відповідає критеріям ІПНМД, у дорослих найчастіше виявляли ентерококи (30,8%), серед дітей (від 0 до 17 років) - у 35,4% випадків. Епідермальний стафілокок від пацієнтів дитячої категорії, як збудник гнійно-септичного процесу, виявляли на загал в 21,5%, тоді як у дорослих - 27,2%. Значна (63,6%) частка культур S. aureus, виділених від дітей, була стійкою до амоксициліну (серед дорослих - 56,5%), цефтазидиму (54,5%) та цефуроксиму (45,4%). Серед дорослих пацієнтів значно вищим був відсоток виділених резистентних штамів до цефтріаксону (65,2%), цефотаксиму (52,2%), цефепіму (87,0%) порівняно з такими показниками в дітей - 9,1%, 18,2% і 36,4%, відповідно. Широко вживаний останніми роками в лікуванні дітей антибіотик цефтизоксим у 45,5% не був ефективним. Висновки. Незважаючи на низький рівень реєстрування ІПНМД у дітей, ця проблема існує. Кількість резистентних штамів збільшується. Антибіотикочутливість штамів, виділених у дітей та дорослих, значно різниться, тому загальні рекомендації можуть бути не дієвими. Роль клінічного мікробіолога та епідеміолога є надзвичайно важливою для ефективного інфекційного контролю та якісної емпіричної антибіотикотерапії в окремих закладах охорони здоров’я. Дослідження проведено відповідно до стандартів біоетики, ухвалено етичним комітетом ЛНМУ імені Данила Галицького. На проведення досліджень отримано інформовану згоду пацієнтів (батьків дітей або їхніх опікунів). Автори заявляють про відсутність конфлікту інтересів.
Introduction. During the war that has been going on in Ukraine for two years, the number of patients with mine-blast injuries has increased dramatically. The issue of wound colonization by resistant ...microorganisms and modification of their species spectrum, which increases during the evacuation of victims to various medical facilities, is of great importance. At the third stage of wounded military personnel evacuation 87.7 % of wounds were occupied by gram-negative bacteria in the form of monoculture, including strains of Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Klebsiella pneumoniae with multidrug resistance, which have a high potential for adaptation in hospital conditions. The aim of the study. To investigate the frequency of infection with Klebsiella and Pseudomonas of mine-blast wounds at the third stage of evacuation, to determine the spectrum of their resistance, sensitivity to antimicrobial drugs, and to present general recommendations for military medical care. Materials and methods. The material from purulent wounds was taken from victims with mine-blast injuries who were admitted for inpatient treatment to the surgical department. The sampling was carried out with sterile swabs with transport nutrient medium. The material was inoculated on blood agar, Endo medium, CHROMID® P. Aeruginosa Agar, MPA and incubated at 37°C for 24 hours. Biochemical identification was performed using the Enterotest 24 and Nefermtest 24 test systems (Lachema, Czech Republic). Antimicrobial susceptibility testing was performed using the Kirby-Bauer method and the determination of the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) using broth microdilutions according to the recommendations of the European Committee for the Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing (EUCAST 2023). Healthcare-associated infections (HCAI) among the wounded servicemen were diagnosed according to the updated MoH Order No. 1447. Results. K. pneumoniae and P. aeruginosa were isolated from the wounds of 38 examined mine-blast injured patients. Out of these 17 (44.7 %) patients had P. aeruginosa; in 9 patients both pathogens were in association; in 2 patients P. aeruginosa was isolated in pure culture; in the remaining cases P. aeruginosa was in association with other microorganisms. Quantitatively, the bacteria were isolated in the range of 106-109 colony forming units (CFU/ml) of pathogen in the patient’s wound contents. In wounded servicemen, infectious wound complications appeared later than the 3-rd day of hospital stay, so they were classified as HCAI. 33.3 % and 22.2 % of K. pneumoniae isolates demonstrated susceptibility to amikacin and imipenem, respectively. Moderate susceptibility of P. aeruginosa to amikacin was detected in 29.4 % of isolates, and to ticarcillin-clavulanate – in 23.5 %. 41.2 % of P. aeruginosa isolates demonstrated sensitivity to piperacillin-tazobactam, 23.5 % – to imipenem, and 11.8 % – to ceftazidime. No significant difference was detected between the susceptibility of Pseudomonas and Klebsiella strains to imipenem (p more than 0.05). It was recorded absolute susceptibility of K. pneumoniae and P. aeruginosa strains to colistin. In total 92.3 % of P. aeruginosa and 90.7 % of Klebsiella isolates were represented by multidrug-resistant strains. Timely and thorough primary surgical treatment of the wound and correct antimicrobial treatment reduce the risk of wound infection. Conclusions. K. pneumoniae and P. aeruginosa were isolated from 44.7 % of wounded servicemen with mine-blast trauma at the third stage of evacuation. There was an increase in the frequency of multidrug-resistant strains of K. pneumoniae (90.7 %) and P. aeruginosa (92.3 %). The isolated strains of K. pneumoniae and P. aeruginosa that induced healthcare-associated infections were hospital-acquired. All isolates were susceptible to colistin. High-quality treatment of wound requires complete elimination of microorganisms prior to further rehabilitation stages.
