We have analyzed the pseudorapidity spectra of charged relativistic particles with β > 0.7 produced in Pb + Em (at energy 158 A GeV) reactions as a function of centrality. The relativistic nucleus ...beams were obtained from SPS machine. The number of g-particles (particles with 0.23 ≤ β ≤ 0.7) has been used to fix the centrality. We have applied the maximum entropy method to analyses the spectra and found some selected pseudorapidity values—nontrivial structure.

We present central-to-peripheral nuclear modification factors, R$_{CP}$, for the pT distributions of $K^0_s$, $\Lambda$, $\overline{\Lambda}$, and negatively charged particles, measured at central ...rapidity in Pb–Pb collisions at top SPS energy. The data cover the 55\% most central fraction of the inelastic cross section. The $K^0_s$ and $\Lambda$ R$_{CP}(pT) are similar in shape to those measured at $sqrt{^SNN}$ = 200 GeV at RHIC, though they are larger in absolute value. We have compared our $K^0_s$ RCP data to a theoretical calculation. The prediction overestimates the data at pT$\sim$3–4 GeV/c, unless sizeable parton energy loss is included in the calculation.
The new JINR project 1 is aimed at studies of highly excited nuclear matter created in nuclei by a high-energy deuteron beam. The matter is studied through observation of its particular decay ...products - pairs of energetic particles with a wide opening angle, close to 180°. The new precision hybrid magnetic spectrometer SCAN-3 is to be built for detecting charged (π±, K±, p) and neutral (n) particles produced at the JINR Nuclotron internal target in dA collisions. One of the main and complex tasks is a study of low-energy ηA interaction and a search for η-bound states (η-mesic nuclei). Basic elements of the spectrometer and its characteristics are discussed in the article.

We review status and perspectives of the search of the η-mesic nuclei at the synchrotron NUCLOTRON. This article present the results obtained at the spectrometer “SCAN” and the plans to study the ...interaction of eta-meson with nucleon and modification of the particle properties in the nuclear matter.
Central interactions of 208Pb nuclei at 158 A GeV/c and 32S at 200 A GeV/c taken with emulsion track detector have been studied using the horizontal factorial moment method. An evidence for the ...presence of intermittent behaviour has been shown. The values of slopes for experimental data are higher than values from cascade and FRITIOF models. The comparison for other primary nuclei (28Si) at momenta of 4.5 - 200 A GeV/c has been done.
We present central-to-peripheral nuclear modification factors, RCP, for the pT distributions of KS0, Λ, Λ¯, and negatively charged particles, measured at central rapidity in Pb–Pb collisions at top ...SPS energy. The data cover the 55% most central fraction of the inelastic cross section. The KS0 and ΛRCP(pT) are similar in shape to those measured at sNN=200 GeV at RHIC, though they are larger in absolute value. We have compared our KS0RCP data to a theoretical calculation. The prediction overestimates the data at pT≈3–4 GeV/c, unless sizeable parton energy loss is included in the calculation.
