Developing red thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) emitters, attainable for both high‐efficient red organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs) and non‐doped deep red/near‐infrared (NIR) OLEDs, ...is challenging. Now, two red emitters, BPPZ‐PXZ and mDPBPZ‐PXZ, with twisted donor–acceptor structures were designed and synthesized to study molecular design strategies of high‐efficiency red TADF emitters. BPPZ‐PXZ employs the strictest molecular restrictions to suppress energy loss and realizes red emission with a photoluminescence quantum yield (ΦPL) of 100±0.8 % and external quantum efficiency (EQE) of 25.2 % in a doped OLED. Its non‐doped OLED has an EQE of 2.5 % owing to unavoidable intermolecular π–π interactions. mDPBPZ‐PXZ releases two pyridine substituents from its fused acceptor moiety. Although mDPBPZ‐PXZ realizes a lower EQE of 21.7 % in the doped OLED, its non‐doped device shows a superior EQE of 5.2 % with a deep red/NIR emission at peak of 680 nm.

•The performance of vanes with different cooling structures were experimentally studied.•Jet impingement, BR increase and TR increase can all enhance the cooling performance.•Vane 2 with all ...impingement holes located upstream of the film hole inlet had the best cooling performance.•The offset jet resulted in a maximum enhancement of 8.75 % in integrated cooling effectiveness.•The integrated cooling effectiveness growth rate decreased as the BR increase.
To investigate the performance of impingement/film combined cooling methods on the turbine vane pressure surface of leading cavity, typical cooling techniques and potential configurations were designed. The conjugate heat transfer experiments were carried out. Four different vanes were tested in the experiments, including Vane 0 (typical film cooling without jets), Vane 1 (typical impingement/film cooling with centerline normal jets), Vane 2 (impingement/film cooling with offset jets), and Vane 3 (impingement/film cooling with staggered offset jets). The effects of impingement hole position, BR (blowing ratio), and TR (temperature ratio of mainstream and coolant) were investigated. The experimental results show that the turbine vane cooling characteristics were determined by internal cooling, external cooling, vane heat conduction and coolant parameters jointly. Jet impingement, BR increase and TR increase can enhance the cooling performance. Compared with Vane 0, the overall-averaged ICE (integrated cooling effectiveness) of Vanes 1, 2, and 3 increased by 1.95 %–8.75 %. Due to the offset of the impingement hole, the jet impingement enhanced heat transfer region of Vane 2 was relatively independent of the gas film coverage region, the ICE of Vane 2 was more uniform and greater. With increasing of blowing ratio and temperature ratio, the ICE gradually increased, but the growth rate gradually decreased. Four alternative cooling structures for the pressure surface of leading cavity were tested at different working conditions and the experimental results can be used to support the design of the cooling structure for the turbine vanes.
The current strategies for nanoelectrode functionalization usually involve sophisticated modification procedures, uncontrollable and unstable modifier assembly, as well as a limited variety of ...modifiers. To address this issue, we propose a versatile strategy for large‐scale synthesis of biomimetic molecular catalysts (BMCs) modified nanowires (NWs) to construct functionalized electrochemical nanosensors. This design protocol employs an easy, controllable and stable assembly of diverse BMCs‐poly(3,4‐ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT) composites on conductive NWs. The intrinsic catalytic activity of BMCs combined with outstanding electron transfer ability of conductive polymer enables the nanosensors to sensitively and selectively detect various biomolecules. Further application of sulfonated cobalt phthalocyanine functionalized nanosensors achieves real‐time electrochemical monitoring of intracellular glutathione levels and its redox homeostasis in single living cells for the first time.
Versatile and large‐scale synthesis of biomimetic molecular catalyst modified nanowires provides an innovative perspective for simple and stable construction of functionalized electrochemical nanosensors. Such nanosensors enable the sensitive and selective detection of diverse biomolecules, and for the first time achieve real‐time electrochemical monitoring of intracellular glutathione levels and its redox homeostasis in single living cells.
The combination of diagnostic and therapeutic functions in a single theranostic nanoagent generally requires the integration of multi‐ingredients. Herein, a cytotoxic near‐infrared (NIR) dye (IR‐797) ...and its nanoassembly are reported for multifunctional cancer theranostics. The hydrophobic IR‐797 molecules are self‐assembled into nanoparticles, which are further modified with an amphiphilic polymer (C18PMH‐PEG5000) on the surface. The prepared PEG‐IR‐797 nanoparticles (PEG‐IR‐797 NPs) possess inherent cytotoxicity from the IR‐797 dye and work as a chemotherapeutic drug which induces apoptosis of cancer cells. The IR‐797 NPs are found to have an ultrahigh mass extinction coefficient (444.3 L g−1 cm−1 at 797 nm and 385.9 L g−1 cm−1 at 808 nm) beyond all reported organic nanomaterials (<40 L g−1 cm−1) for superior photothermal therapy (PTT). In addition, IR‐797 shows some aggregation‐induced‐emission (AIE) properties. Combining the merits of good NIR absorption, high photothermal energy conversion efficiency, and AIE, makes the PEG‐IR‐797 NPs useful for multimodal NIR AIE fluorescence, photoacoustic, and thermal imaging‐guided therapy. The research exhibits the possibility of using a single ingredient and entity to perform multimodal NIR fluorescence, photoacoustic, and thermal imaging‐guided chemo‐/photothermal combination therapy, which may trigger wide interest from the fields of nanomedicine and medicinal chemistry to explore multifunctional theranostic organic molecules.
The combination of chemotherapy and photothermal therapy in a single component entity is desirable to explore for improvement of cancer treatment outcomes through synergistic effects. PEG‐IR‐797 nanoparticles that possess intrinsic cytotoxicity, excellent photothermal effects, and multimodal NIR fluorescence/photoacoustic/photothermal imaging are reported, which could be promising for precise multimodal imaging and enhanced cancer therapy outcomes through synergistic chemo‐/photothermal combination therapy.

Finally, we discussed the perspectives and obstacles to different target combinations, delivery strategies, and system designs for ncRNA application. The next approved nucleic acid drug to treat cancer patients may realistically be on the horizon.
A strategy for one‐pot and large‐scale synthesis of functionalized core–shell nanowires (NWs) to high‐efficiently construct single nanowire electrodes is proposed. Based on the polymerization ...reaction between 3,4‐ethylenedioxythiophene (EDOT) and noble metal cations, manifold noble metal nanoparticles‐polyEDOT (PEDOT) nanocomposites can be uniformly modified on the surface of any nonconductive NWs. This provides a facile and versatile approach to produce massive number of core–shell NWs with excellent conductivity, adjustable size, and well‐designed properties. Nanoelectrodes manufactured with such core–shell NWs exhibit excellent electrochemical performance and mechanical stability as well as favorable antifouling properties, which are demonstrated by in situ intracellular monitoring of biological molecules (nitric oxide) and unraveling its relevant unclear signaling pathway inside single living cells.
Versatile one‐pot synthesis of functionalized core–shell nanowires breaks through the limitation of nanoelectrode materials to facilely construct high‐performance single nanowire electrodes. Concurrently with excellent electrochemical, mechanical, and antifouling properties, the nanowire electrodes show great superiority in real‐time monitoring of biological molecules and unraveling the relevant signaling pathway inside single living cells.
Ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) caused by ischemic stroke treatments leads to brain injury, and autophagy plays a role in the pathology. Astragaloside IV is a potential neuroprotectant, but its underlying ...mechanism on cerebral I/R injury needs to be explored. The objective of this study is to investigate the neuroprotective mechanism of Astragaloside IV against cerebral I/R injury.
Middle cerebral artery occlusion method (MCAO) and oxygen and glucose deprivation/reoxygenation (OGD/R) method were used to simulate cerebral I/R injury in Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats and HT22 cells, respectively. The neurological score, 2,3,5-Triphe-nyltetrazolium chloride (TTC) staining, and transmission electron microscope were used to detect cerebral damage in SD rats. Cell viability and cytotoxicity assay were tested in vitro. Fluorescent staining and flow cytometry were applied to detect the level of apoptosis. Western blotting was conducted to examine the expression of proteins associated with autophagy.
This study found that Astragaloside IV could decrease the neurological score, reduce the infarct volume in the brain, and alleviate cerebral I/R injury in MCAO rats. Astragaloside IV promoted cell viability and balanced Bcl-2 and Bax expression in vitro, reduced the rate of apoptosis, decreased the expression of P62, and increased the expression of LC3II/LC3I in HT22 cells after OGD/R.
These data suggested that Astragaloside IV plays a neuroprotective role by down-regulating apoptosis by promoting the degree of autophagy.
A cluster of pneumonia cases were reported by Wuhan Municipal Health Commission, China in December 2019. A novel coronavirus was eventually identified, and became the COVID-19 epidemic that affected ...public health and life. We investigated the psychological status and behavior changes of the general public in China from January 30 to February 3, 2020.
Respondents were recruited via social media (WeChat) and completed an online questionnaire. We used the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory, Self-rating Depression Scale, and Symptom Checklist-90 to evaluate psychological status. We also investigated respondents' behavior changes. Quantitative data were analyzed by t-tests or analysis of variance, and classified data were analyzed with chi-square tests.
In total, 608 valid questionnaires were obtained. More respondents had state anxiety than trait anxiety (15.8% vs 4.0%). Depression was found among 27.1% of respondents and 7.7% had psychological abnormalities. About 10.1% of respondents suffered from phobia. Our analysis of the relationship between subgroup characteristics and psychological status showed that age, gender, knowledge about COVID-19, degree of worry about epidemiological infection, and confidence about overcoming the outbreak significantly influenced psychological status. Around 93.3% of respondents avoided going to public places and almost all respondents reduced Spring Festival-related activities. At least 70.9% of respondents chose to take three or more preventive measures to avoid infection. The three most commonly used prevention measures were making fewer trips outside and avoiding contact (98.0%), wearing a mask (83.7%), and hand hygiene (82.4%).
We need to pay more attention to public psychological stress, especially among young people, as they are likely to experience anxiety, depression, and psychological abnormalities. Different psychological interventions could be formulated according to the psychological characteristics of different gender and age groups. The majority of respondents followed specific behaviors required by the authorities, but it will take time to observe the effects of these behaviors on the epidemic.
