Beginning with attitudes toward nature at the turn of the twentieth century, the book moves through the use and early regulation of pesticides; the introduction and early success of DDT; the discovery of its environmental effects; and the uproar over Silent Spring. It ends with recent debates about DDT as a potential solution to malaria in Africa.
Bu çalışmanın amacı Amerikan edebiyatından Rachel Carson’ınSessiz Bahar (1962) ve İngiliz edebiyatından Ian McEwan’ın Solar (2010) adlıeserlerin ekoeleştirel bir bakış açısıyla karşılaştırmalı bir ...yönteminkullanılarak incelenmesidir.Çalışmamıza konu olan yazarlar, günümüzde çevresel tahribatların vedoğaya verilen zararların boyutlarını ortaya koymada etkili bir yol olarakortaya çıkan ekoeleştirinin olanaklarını kullanmışlardır. Bu nedenleçalışmamızın birinci bölümünde ekoeleştiri kuramının tanımı, tarihsel içeriğive ekoeleştirel yaklaşımlar üzerinde durularak kurama ilişkin kavramsal bir altyapı oluşturulmuştur. Diğer bölümlerde ise ekoeleştirinin yöntem, teknik vebakış açısına göre incelenen romanlardan elde edilen veriler tasnif edilmiştir.Buna göre Sessiz Bahar ve Solar edebi metinlerde çevreye insan faktörüylegelen tahribatın yanı sıra çevre sorunlarına bağlı insanın ödediği bedellere dedikkat çekilmesi gerektiği düşüncesinden yola çıkmaktadır.Çevresel nedenlere bağlı sağlık sorunlarının gittikçe ciddileştiğigünümüzde Rachel Carson ve Ian McEwan’ın yaptığı uyarılar gelecekkuşaklar için oldukça önem arz etmektedir. Bu bağlamda çalışmamızın asılönemi, çevreye karşı oldukça duyarlı olan bu iki yazarın hangi çevreselsorunlara değindiklerini ve bu sorunlara karşı ne gibi çözüm önerilerigeliştirdiklerini tespit etmektir. Ayrıca ortaya koyacağımız bu çalışma; çevre,çevresel sorunlar ve ekoeleştiri ile ilgili yapılan diğer çalışmalarıdestekleyeceği gibi bu alanda çalışacak araştırmacılar için önemli bir kaynakniteliğinde olacaktır.
L’articolo è incentrato sull’analisi della gestione dell’organizzazione del lavoro nel Polo Automotive di Goiana (Pernambuco, Brasile) nell’ambito dell’applicazione del programma World Class ...Manufacturing (WCM) da parte di Fiat Chrysler Automobile (FCA) e delle aziende fornitrici bordo stabilimento. L’articolo si basa su una serie di materiali empirici raccolti a partire da una ricerca sul campo avviata nel 2014 e tuttora in corso. L’obiettivo è quello di investigare i processi di legittimazione sociale che se, da un lato, operano ai fini della costruzione del consenso tra i lavoratori, dall’altro lato, a seguito dell’incompleta applicazione del WCM, danno origine a forme di resistenza e di potenziali conflitti rispetto alle pratiche manageriali. The thread of the article is the discussion about the management of work in the Polo Automotivo de Goiana (Pernambuco) from the World Class Manufacturing (WCM) system and its work organization tools. In order to do so, we seek to bring empirical materials from the research begun in 2014 that allow us to reflect on labor relations considering processes of social legitimation that both enable the workers’ consent to the WCM system, and also forge their resistance and conflicts.
