The present paper aims to compare and analyze the security of the most common three open-source Web Content Management Systems: WordPress, Joomla! and Drupal. The paper is focused on describing the ...main vulnerabilities regarding the security of CMS platforms and reflects relevant data that can be used to avoid the most common attacks. In the digital era, where all the information is stored on web servers to be accessed from everyone, security and confidential data protection is an important part when it comes to choosing the right CMS for our needs.
There is a wide variety of content management systems (CMS) available on the market, each with its characteristics, advantages and disadvantages, but the open source, such as Joomla, WordPress and ...Drupal are the ones who stand out, not only because they are free, but also because of their versatility and contemporaneity, in issues such as: ease of use, possibility of customization, support, security, adaptability and amount of resources available (modules, components and plugins). These solutions have an extremely relevant aspect for public organizations, bringing citizens and businesses closer to their governments, by providing a more direct and intuitive access to government information and services (Fang, 2002). To achieve the benefits of its implementation, it is necessary an analysis of the solutions available on the market and which ones are best suited to certain management objectives. Through a comparison of data and information collected, it is highlighted the advantages and disadvantages of each of the three CMS mentioned, especially which one is most indicated for a specific context of application and project typology in public administration, using for these rankings of use and popularity on platforms such as W3Techs and BuiltWith, as well as a set of supporting documentation.
Purpose
The purpose of this study was to perform sentiment analysis and analyze the growth and popularity of Drupal, Joomla and WordPress on YouTube over a four-year period. This included identifying ...the most liked and commented videos for each content management system (CMS), ranking the CMSs based on the number of positive comments they received, and using natural language processing techniques to identify the top ten most frequently appearing words in videos about the CMSs.
Design/methodology/approach
The data for assessing the features of the videos of Drupal, WordPress and Joomla was extracted using Webometric Analyst version 4.4. with the help of the YouTube application programming interface key for videos on the selected CMSs uploaded from 2019 to 2022. The extraction of comments and sentiment analysis for the relevant videos was done using Mozdeh.
Findings
This study scrutinized 371, 234 and 313 videos of WordPress, Joomla and Drupal on YouTube. The findings reveal that there is a chronological growth of videos of the three CMSs in four years and till the present time, WordPress has the highest number of videos followed by Drupal and then Joomla. Regarding the ranking of highly liked videos, WordPress again wins the list with the highest number of likes in its videos followed by Drupal and then Joomla. For analyzing sentiments of the total comments extracted 123,409 for WordPress, 1,790 for Joomla and 1,783 for Drupal, respectively, WordPress receives the highest average positive comments followed by Drupal then Joomla. In top word frequency, the word “thank” highly occurs and viewers are asking for more tutorial videos.
Originality/value
To the best of the authors’ knowledge, this study is the first attempt for analyzing the sentiments of WordPress, Drupal and Joomla using Mozdeh software within the concerning period.
U. 2012, pozycja 526). Rozporządzenie to zobowiązuje podmioty realizujące zadania publiczne do dostosowania serwisów www do standardu WCAG 2.0, uznanego w większości krajów Europy.
New methods of identifying and fixing accessibility issues on websites are presented in this article. The websites taken into consideration by the research are created with content management systems ...(like WordPress or Joomla!). Our main goal was to develop different methods to improve accessibility that may be used by various user groups (website creators, operators, content editors). Some of our methods are easy to use, some need more proficiency. The three methods we have developed (CSS/SCSS class override, MVC-based extension override, HTML output override) are described in detail. The use of an already existing method (Data entry checking) is also introduced, as well as some development options of this method. Each method is introduced in general, furthermore an example of their usage is also presented. Using the proposed methods, websites can fulfil the recommendations of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) in order to make the content of the websites more accessible.
Developed from Mambo, the CMS JOOMLA! is written in PHP and is executed in the Apache Web Server or Internet Information Server, with MySQL database. Nowadays, many users with development and ...programming knowledge already make their own components according with their needs to JOOMLA!. However, the most people that use CMS don‟t have appropriate knowledge and don‟t have many options for their needs. The proposal to create a tool to help the creation of data manipulation components came to realize the benefits such as low knowledge, for example, in using the JOOMLA! for creation and administration of complex websites. It was developed to assist users in the creation of components according to their needs, making the CMS structure more flexible.
Open Source Content Management Systems represent an affordable and viable option for building institutional academic websites. We presented a short literature review as argumentation for choosing ...Joomla! platform for a faculty website development. Then, we provided an overview over this widespread adopted platform by researching which academic websites from Romania implemented this popular, flexible, versatile and secure content management system. Next sections of this paper include the last five-years long experience in creating, maintaining and extending the website of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (FEAA) within the West University of Timisoara (WUT). We aimed to share the knowledge acquired in time, the challenges we had to face and how we adapted to cope with them, by insisting mainly on the extensions which proved very useful in exploiting the site over time.
