The paper deals with the topic of social responsibility in selected organizations in the Czech Republic. This topic is mainly associated with the requirements for economical and ecological ...production. In reality, however, this area has a much broader meaning. In the introduction, the paper deals with the definition of corporate social responsibility, the importance of this industry, the description of stake-holders and the basic principles of the whole concept. Furthermore, the paper deals with the benefits of implementing corporate social responsibility in the overall concept of the organization and describes the most common barriers to the adoption of the concept of CSR in organizations. The next part analyses the current attitude of organizations to CSR in the form of a questionnaire survey. Organizations from various areas of the private as well as the public sector were involved in the survey. The questionnaire is divided into three groups within the questions asked to the respondents. The first part of the questions is focused on the identification of organizations, focus size and other information. The second part focuses on awareness of corporate social responsibility and the last part deals with issues related to strengthening awareness of CSR.
V prispevku prikazujemo analizo luščenja eno- in večbesednih terminoloških kandidatov, ki smo ga izvedli za potrebe priprave terminološke podatkovne zbirke odnosov z javnostmi na podlagi korpusa KoRP ...z luščilnikom LUIZ. Podrobneje se posvečamo dvojemu: (a) izluščenim enobesednim samostalniškim terminološkim kandidatom, katerih seznam primerjamo s pogostostnim seznamom samostalnikov v korpusu KoRP in vrednotimo glede na terminološkost, kot sta jo prepoznala dva področna strokovnjaka, ter (b) izluščenim večbesednim nizom z glagolskim in samostalniškim jedrom. Nadgrajeno metodo luščenja in izboljšan prikaz rezultatov smo dopolnili še z analizo priklica. Potrdili oz. ugotovili smo, da je v primerjavi s pogostostnim seznamom terminološki potencial enot v zgornjem delu seznama izluščenih samostalnikov večji, da imajo izluščeni glagolski besedni nizi predvsem kolokacijsko vrednost, ne pa tudi terminološke, in da so najbolj terminološko produktivni vzorci luščenja samostalniških zvez z naslednjo zgradbo: pridevnik + samostalnik, pridevnik + in + pridevnik + samostalnik ter pridevnik + pridevnik + samostalnik. Analiza priklica je pokazala predvsem nizko stopnjo strinjanja med obema področnima strokovnjakoma, sicer pa je bil priklic razmeroma visok.
In pursuing the historical emergence of the discourse on terrorism, this study trawls the “digital Gulf of Bothnia” in the form of a corpus of combined Swedish and Finnish digitized newspaper texts. ...Through a cross-lingual exploration of the uses of the concept of terrorism in historical Swedish and Finnish news, we examine meanings anchored in the two culturally close but still decidedly different national political contexts. The study is an outcome of an integrative interdisciplinary effort by Swe-Clarin, using resources accessible through the CLARIN infrastructure to enrich scholarship in the humanities. The capabilities of the corpus tool Korp enable us to affirm prior research on the conceptual history of terrorism, but also to suggest a complex and diverse picture of the connotations of terrorism, both as state and sub-state violence up until the 20th century. At the same time, the study allows us to explore the potentials of cross-lingual text mining for historical analysis of national online newspaper corpora provided by Swe-Clarin and FIN-CLARIN.
An incompetent, terminally ill patient can be viewed in two ways--as a person who is dying, when futile, life-prolonging treatment can be lawfully withdrawn; or a person with a disability, for whom a ...guardian must be appointed to decide about treatment. Terri Schiavo's husband took the first view and her parents the second. Maria Korp was regarded as dying when treatment was withdrawn. The difference in conceptualising a patient's situation is critical. Where a patient is dying, treatment can be lawfully withdrawn whatever the view of the relatives; they cannot require treatment to be continued. Where a patient has a disability and a surrogate decision-maker is appointed, the focus is on what the patient would have wanted in such circumstances, so that the surrogate can act in accordance with the patient's wishes. That deflects attention from the fundamental legal principle that whatever a patient or the relatives want, they are not legally entitled to demand treatment that doctors consider futile in the circumstances.
