Language and culture are closely connected, which is clearly reflected in many phraseological units (PUs). PUs are rarely used outside the language community in which they developed, thus causing ...comprehension problems to non-native speakers on account of their cultural specificity. That is why dictionaries should include cultural information to enable the users to learn about the cultural background of PUs. In online bilingual phraseological dictionaries, this type of information is of secondary importance if compared with dictionary equivalents, which are of primary importance. The aim of this article is to discuss types of additional information regarded as being of secondary importance and accessible by clicking on extra buttons, the focus being on the presentation of the cultural component. The language pair of sample entries illustrating the use of extra buttons is English and Slovenian, but the same principle could be employed in other language pairs with the necessary language-specific modifications and adaptations.

This article focuses on Cankar's novel Gospa Judit, exploring the connection between the text's main innovations and its inherent fragments of Nietzschean philosophy. These innovations-i.e., ...syncretism of genres, essayisation (discursivity), interweaving of two first-person narrators, a female protagonist, as well as an evaluative criterion or satirical polemic, and autobiography as the main poetical principle-were examined from the perspective of the nuclei of Nietzsche's philosophy: morality, will to power, individuality, autobiographicality, and yearning. A Nietzschean approach of adopting a moral framework is analysed as a critique of the nation's morality, while the will to power is perceived as a trait of a distinct individuality or autobiography. Finally, the work is analysed as the mirror of society.
The article analyzes the syntactic-semantic function of the connecting words ki, ka, and da, which in the first half of the 19th century in the East Styrian area are recognized as multifunctional ...words distinct from the rest of the Slovenian language area. In order to determine the supra-dialectal, literary character of the words observable semantic functions and forms, a diachronic analysis of selected East Styrian texts is given, especially from the 18th century, followed by an overview of the normative use of connecting forms and a comparison with their use by Prekmurje, Kajkavian, Central Styrian, and Carniolan writers of the first half of the 19th century.
The aim of the article is to present activities of Slovene commercial diplomacy in the Western Balkan markets. The result of the analysis proves that Slovene commercial diplomacy in the Western ...Balkan markets followed enterprise preferences. Thus, in the first decade of transition (1991–2000) commercial diplomacy focused only on ex-Yugoslav markets, while non-ex-YU (Western Balkan) markets became interesting only after the year 2000. The article argues that this can be explained by the reactiveness (instead of proactiveness) of Slovene enterprises, which stems from the Slovene national character.
