The purpose of this study is to analyze the untapped (behavioral, environmental and technological) dimensions of mobile banking acceptance by following a more comprehensive approach to address mobile banking intention adoption.
CFA and SEM analyses have been used to analyze the data collected from university students. The study strives to examine the role of technological and environmental variables in predicting behavioral intention of individuals to adopt mobile banking by integrating three pre-established frameworks of UTAUT, TTF and ITM.
The empirical findings established the significant contribution of task (TAC) and technology characteristics (TEC) in facilitating task technology fit (TTF). Initial trust is also found to be facilitated by structural assurance (SA) and familiarity with bank (FB). The statistical results also support the significant association of task technology fit (TTF), initial trust (IT) and facilitating condition (FC) with intention to adopt m-banking.
The present study provides an all-inclusive approach to understand the acceptance of mobile banking by incorporating three established theories of technology acceptance. The existing literature on mobile banking emphasizes greatly on the perception aspects of technology and hardly studies the impact of the task technology fit. The strength of present research lies in combining behavioral, technological and environmental aspects of mobile banking. This is evidenced by high explanatory power of our research model that depicted 60.1% of the behavioral intention to adopt m-banking compared to 31% by Kim et al. (2009) and 53% by Oliveira et al. (2014).
The adoption of technologies by the operations and supply chain management (OSCM) field is leading to extraordinary disruptions. And with the rapid emergence of cutting-edge and more disruptive ...technologies, the OSCM is striving to take advantage of such innovations, but they are bringing in their wake a number of challenges. One of those disruptive technologies is blockchain, which is increasingly accepted in virtually all industries. This study aims to investigate the blockchain technology (BCT) adoption behaviour and possible barriers in the Brazilian OSCM context. We developed a model drawing on the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT) model, the supply chain literature, and the emerging literature on BCT. We empirically validated the proposed model with Brazilian operations and supply chain professionals by using the partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM). Our findings revealed that facilitating conditions, trust, social influence, and effort expectancy are the most critical constructs that directly affect BCT adoption. Unexpectedly, performance expectancy appeared not decisive in terms of predicting BCT adoption. This study contributes to advancing and stimulating the theory about BCT adoption behaviour in supply chains, as well as important managerial implications, which may be more critical for emerging economies.
The social restrictions during the COVID-19 crisis led to many therapists providing therapy remotely, despite some therapists' concerns regarding its efficacy, technical challenges and their ability ...to build a strong therapeutic relationship online. This survey study reports on the experiences of 141 therapists who transitioned to providing video therapy during the pandemic. Aspects of the therapeutic relationship (e.g. working alliance, real relationship), experienced anxiety and professional self-doubt, attitudes towards and intention of video therapy use in the future were assessed. Although therapists reported some anxiety and self-doubt, most felt that online sessions had a sufficient working alliance and a strong real relationship. Therapists with more online therapy experience, lower levels of self-doubt and anxiety, and those who experienced a strong online real relationship during the pandemic, or thought their patients viewed it positively, tended to be more accepting of video therapy. Therapists were largely undecided as to whether they planned to use video therapy in the future; however, those with prior video therapy experience were more likely to endorse future utilization. Training is needed, especially for therapists with less online therapy experience, in order to foster a better experience and to support effective use of online therapy in the future.
To determine the most frequent factors that extended the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) in the context of Mobile payment (M-payment) adoption, a quantitative meta-analysis ...approach of 25 studies was undertaken. The results indicated that perceived risk, perceived trust, perceived cost, and self-efficacy were the most frequent factors that achieved significant results in the surveyed studies. Accordingly, this study is an attempt to extend the UTAUT model with these factors; proposing a general extended UTAUT model for M-payment adoption. The proposed model is validated using the partial least squares-structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) approach. The data were collected from a total of 436 M-payment users in Oman. The results indicated that the best predictor of M-payment users’ intention to use the M-payment system is performance expectancy, followed by social influence, effort expectancy, perceived trust, perceived cost, and self-efficacy, respectively. Nonetheless, perceived risk was found to have an insignificant negative impact on the behavioral intention to use M-payment systems. The conclusions derived from this study enhance the understanding of the factors determining the adoption of M-payment systems in Oman.

This study aimed to evaluate the use of food delivery apps (FDA) during the COVID-19 pandemic in Brazil. A total of 950 questionnaires were collected, covering four Brazilian regions: Southeast, Central-West, Northeast, and South. The data was collected during the peak of the second wave of the pandemic. A questionnaire with 39 measurement items was applied using an online survey. These items were evaluated using a five-point Likert scale covering the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology 2 (UTAUT2). The data was analyzed using covariance-based structural equation modeling. About 47% of consumers use FDA weekly. The continuance intention of FDA during the pandemic in Brazil was affected by performance expectancy (β = 0.496; p < 0.001), social influence (β = 0.094; p < 0.001), hedonic motivation (β = 0.068; p = 0.026), price value (β = 0.103; p < 0.001), habit (β = 0.305; p < 0.001), frequency of using FDA (β = 0.051; p = 0.039), and solidarity with the foodservice sector (β = 0.090; p < 0.001). It was also observed that the continuance intention reduces risk perception (β = −0.403; p < 0.001), and risk perception reduces the frequency of using FDA (β = −0.178; p < 0.001). The results indicate that the UTAUT2 strongly explains consumers’ continuance intention. Differences in path estimates among Brazilian regions were observed, indicating some regional differences. It was possible to observe a tendency of using FDA during and after the pandemic, motivated by several factors. The FDA developers and foodservice managers could use this data to improve their services. Policies must be established to increase consumer and employee safety during the delivery service.
Background: The COVID-19 pandemic situation has compelled society to practice physical distancing. One of the government's efforts is to encourage the use of the QRIS payment method to minimize ...direct physical contact during transactions. Objective: The purpose of this research is to analyze the primary driving factors in the adoption of QRIS technology. The research urgency is to determine the most contributing predictor from the variables within the UTAUT model among the people of Jabodetabek. Methods: This research used the quantitative method by conducting an online survey among 384 respondents distributed across the Jabodetabek region. The sampling technique utilized was non-purposive sampling with criteria including domicile, age, reasons, frequency, and experience of QRIS usage. Conclusion: The results of the factor analysis test indicate that the performance expectancy and effort expectancy variables are combined into one variable, while the social influence variable is divided into two independent variables. The research findings reveal that the perceived risk variable is the predictor with the most significant contribution in the context of the pandemic situation. Future researchers are expected to be able to develop the research model in other contexts with different goals.
The COVID-19 Pandemic has led to social isolation; however, with the help of technology, education can continue through this tough time. Therefore, this research attempts to explore the Unified ...Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) through the expansion of the model. Also, make it relevant to investigate the influence of social isolation, and the moderating role of Corona fear on Behavioral Intention of the Learning Management System and its Use Behavior of Learning Management System among students. The data was analyzed using Partial Least Square (PLS) and Structural Equation Modelling (SEM). The findings show a positive link of Performance Expectancy (PE), Effort Expectancy (EE), Social Influence (SI), and Social Isolation on Behavioral Intention of LMS and, also between Behavioral Intention of LMS and its Use behavior. Moreover, the results of the moderation analysis show that Corona fears only moderates the link of Performance Expectancy and Social influence with Behavioral Intention of LMS. The findings imply the need for improving the LMS experience to increase its Behavioral Intention among students. Finally, the author's recommendation for future researchers is to examine the extended model in other countries and territories to analyze Coronavirus's influence on e-learning acceptance.
Abstract Background mHealth (mobile health) services are becoming an increasingly important form of information and communication technology (ICT) enabled delivery for healthcare, especially in ...low-resource environments such as developing countries like Bangladesh. Despite widespread adoption of mobile phones and the acknowledged potential of using them to improve healthcare services, the adoption and acceptance of this technology among the elderly is significantly low. However, little research has been done to draw any systematic study of the elderly’s intention to adopt mHealth services. Objective The aim of this study was to develop a theoretical model based on the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) and then empirically test it for determining the key factors influencing elderly users’ intention to adopt and use the mHealth services. Methods A face-to-face structured questionnaire survey method was used to collect data from nearly 300 participants of age 60 years and above from the capital city of Bangladesh. The data were analyzed using the Partial Least Squares (PLS) method, a statistical analysis technique based upon Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). Results The study determined that performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, technology anxiety, and resistance to change (p < 0.05) had a significant impact on the users’ behavioral intention to adopt mHealth services. The study, however, revealed no significant relation between the facilitating condition and the users’ behavioral intention to use the mHealth services (p > 0.05). Conclusions This study confirms the applicability of UTAUT model in the context of mHealth services among the elderly in developing countries like Bangladesh. It provides valuable information for mHealth service providers and policy makers in understanding the adoption challenges and the issues and also provides practical guidance for the successful implementation of mHealth services. Additionally the empirical findings identify implications related to the design and development of mHealth services that influence potential users. Furthermore, due to a generic approach, the findings of this study could be easily modified to assist other developing countries in the planning and up-take of mHealth services.
Purpose – This study aims to analyze the intention of the young Muslim generation in paying infaq using online platforms. Methodology – The respondents in this study were 320 young Muslims who had ...previously made infaq payments through online platforms. The research framework applied was an extended unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT) model to predict the intention to use new technology. Structural equation modeling (SEM) techniques to assess the validity, reliability, and relationships between various latent variables.Findings – The results of the data analysis show that performance expectations, social influence, infaq literacy, and habits have a significant influence on the intention to pay infaq through online platforms. In addition, habits and intention to pay donations online also influence usage behavior in paying donations via online platforms. Implications – Based on these findings, it is recommended that the Amil Zakat Infaq and Sedekah Agency (BAZNAS) collaborate with profit-oriented and non-profit social organizations in Indonesia. This collaboration is expected to improve online infaq services and expand the reach of community participation, in line with the increasing intention in and habit of using online platforms to pay infaq.Originality – This study uniquely focuses on the young Muslim generation's behavior in using online platforms for infaq, an area not extensively explored in previous research. By employing Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), it offers a comprehensive analysis of both direct and indirect effects, providing actionable insights for enhancing online donation platforms.
The virtual assistant chatbot in the MyTelkomsel application is a company's effort to achieve goals and improve business performance. Chatbot as a virtual assistant has advantages and disadvantages. ...Evaluating user acceptance of the Virtual Assistant Chatbot in the MyTelkomsel application is important to overcome so that users do not switch to using other products. One of the models used to evaluate user acceptance of information systems is the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT). UTAUT is able to explain how the use of technology can be influenced by individual differences in use. The conclusion of this study is that the variables that influence the acceptance of the use of virtual assistant chatbots in the MyTelkomsel application consist of the greatest influence is shown in the effect of social influence on Behavioural intention with a value of 5,768. Then the second largest influence is the trust variable on behavioural intention with a value of 5,220. Meanwhile, the variable that has the smallest influence on behavioural intention is effort expectancy with a value of 5,134.
