As agricultural production is one of the strategic branches of economy in the AP Vojvodina, it is of paramount importance to examine the development opportunities of Vojvodinian agriculture. The ...primary focus of this research is on the agricultural resources in the AP Vojvodina and both distinctive and economic characteristics of Vojvodinian agricultural production. The purpose of this research is to analyze, both quantitatively and qualitatively, the strategic position of the agricultural complex in the AP Vojvodina, define its strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and limitations, and establish a developmental strategy on the basis of the current situation. The results obtained indicate that there is a shortage of and quality deterioration in the agricultural production resources in the AP Vojvodina. A significant decline was also recorded in the workforce, water resource utilization, livestock units per hectare, and production intensity of all agricultural products considered in the research. Accordingly, the authors conclude that the quantity and quality of agricultural resources in the AP Vojvodina should be preserved by increasing the following: the knowledge and skills of agricultural producers, number of livestock units per hectare, areas devoted to perennial crops (especially in micro-regions), competitiveness of agricultural sectors, degree of production finalization, and rural area development.
There is a dilemma whether the Chernobyl accident is the main source of this anthropogenic radionuclide in the region of Vojvodina, Northern Province of Serbia. The difference compared to the other ...dominant source of radiocaesium in the environment, the nuclear weapon tests, is lying in the local character of contamination due to accidents, which implies it’s highly dependent on meteorological parameters, such as precipitation and wind in the area at that time. According to published data, the average value of surface contamination by radiocaesium on the territory of the former Yugoslavia after the Chernobyl accident was several times higher than the estimated contamination by nuclear testing (1945–1963). The main aim of this research is to explore possible correlations of the spatial distribution of precipitation from April 1986 to December 1987 with the deposition of radiocaesium in the surface soil to justify this claim in the absence of data on caesium deposition before the Chernobyl accident for the Vojvodina region. The database of 137Cs content in Vojvodina soil and precipitation for this region during the timeframe of interest were used. From a total of 245 precipitation stations in Vojvodina, 164 to 244 precipitation stations were selected for analysis in conditionals from different time scale aspects and data validation. The best correlation between amounts of total precipitation and 137Cs content in surface soil obtained for two rainy periods 2nd-5th and 7th-21st May 1986. Further cluster analysis separated four different regions according to 137Cs deposition and precipitation for the mentioned rainy period which could be applied in the field of soil erosion assessment on the local and regional level.

Tourism plays an increasingly important role in the economic flows of each country. Recognizing the tourist potential of AP Vojvodina is an important task for the creators of the economic policy of ...our country. In order to make a favourable tourism environment with quality tourist content and products, it is necessary for tourist entities to operate stably and successfully. The aim of this paper is to highlight the importance of financial performance of firms in tourism sector in terms of profitability. The subject of the paper is to analyse the effects of internal factors on profitability level of 3456 firms in tourism sector in AP Vojvodina for the period 2015-2019. The results of the analysis indicate that observed firms were profitable during the analysed period, where average ROA was 1.81% and average ROE was 3.4%. Empirical analysis shows that internal factors such as firm size, sales revenue, earnings before interest and taxes and financial stability have positive impact on profitability, while liquidity and debt negatively affect the profitability of firms in tourism sector.
The article examines the dynamics of the formation of the image of the Slovak community in Vojvodina in Slovak and Serbian political narratives from the 19th century to the present. It focuses on how ...its differences manifest in the (Czecho-)Slovak and Yugoslav (Serbian) context. The first part of the article explores the nationalising processes among the members of the Slovak community in present-day Vojvodina from the 19th century till the dissolution of the Habsburg Empire. The following parts are devoted to the position of the Slovak minority in Vojvodina in the conditions of the Yugoslav state in the interwar period, as well as its relations with the Czechoslovak Republic. The article also deals with the position of this community during the Second World War, in socialist Yugoslavia and after its dissolution in the early 1990s in the context of inter-state relations, but also the dynamics of intra-ethnic interactions. The paper draws on the symbolic interactionism approach, i.e. the shaping of mutual perceptions along and across ethnic boundaries and through intra-ethnic integration and differentiation practices.

The aim of this work was to investigate aflatoxin (AF) occurrence in maize silage samples from 2017 harvest. In total, 30 samples of maize silage (whole plant) for nutrition of milking cows were ...inspected for AF occurrence. The samples originated from three regions (Bačka, Banat and Srem) in autonomous province (AP) of Vojvodina, Republic of Serbia (10 samples collected from each region). In AP Vojvodina, overall AF presence was 67% with its levels ranged from 3.52 to 24.64 µg/kg. Levels were standardized to 12% moisture content in all samples. Regarding each region, the highest presence was observed in Srem (80%) followed by Banat (70%), while the lowest presence was found in Bačka region (50%). However, the average AF contamination levels were not correlated to its presence. The highest AF level of 12.76 µg/kg (ranged from 6.16 to 24.64 µg/kg) was found in Srem region, whereas its lowest level was observed in Banat region (average of 4.40 µg/kg, ranged from 3.52 to 5.28 µg/kg). In the region of Bačka the average AF level was 8.45 µg/kg. Despite high presence, none of the samples contained AF above maximum level set by Serbian regulation (30 µg/kg), while 2 samples from Srem region exceeded the EU maximum level of 20 µg/kg. These results may be a result of warm and dry weather conditions during summer months of 2017, that prevailed on almost entire territory of AP Vojvodina.
Summary The purpose of this research is to investigate the occurrence of two heavy metals (namely cadmium (Cd) and lead (Pb)) in the liver of hogs bred in different locations in Vojvodina. A total of ...30 liver samples were collected from ten pig farms in Vojvodina for experimental purposes in the period from December 2017 to January 2018. The samples collected were analysed for the presence of lead and cadmium. The average concentration of lead in all the samples was 0.39 mg/kg wet weight, whereas the samples from only one farm of the ten considered were found to contain a slightly higher average lead concentration than permitted by the Serbian standard. A lead concentration of 0.86 mg/kg wet weight was detected in one liver sample from this farm. The maximum permitted lead concentration was exceeded in the liver samples obtained from three farms. However, all the liver samples analysed were found to contain the permitted levels of cadmium, with an average cadmium concentration of 0.12 mg/kg wet weight and a maximum cadmium concentration of 0.48 mg/kg wet weight. The occurrence of heavy metals and their origin in the pig’s offals should be examined in greater detail in future research, especially because pig’s offals are used in the meat processing industry.
The paper examines the influence of the quality of gastronomic manifestations on tourist destination brand equity. The research was conducted on the example of the tourist destination of Vojvodina. ...More precisely, the research was conducted on a sample of 600 visitors at 32 gastronomic manifestations, which were organized on the territory of Vojvodina in the second half of 2022. The survey was conducted during the holding of gastronomic manifestations. The research was conducted using SEM. The results show that the quality of gastronomic events has a positive impact on strengthening the brand equity of the destination. This conclusion was drawn based on findings that show that all dimensions of the quality of the hospitality event have a positive impact on all components of brand equity. The results of the survey show that food at the event has the greatest impact on destination brand equity, while souvenirs have the least impact. The facilities at gastronomic events have a significant impact on brand quality, while the informational services at a gastronomic event have a significant impact on destination brand awareness.
