The aim of this paper is to obtain new inequalities for a large family of topological indices restricted to unicyclic graphs and to characterize the set of extremal unicyclic graphs with respect to ...them. This family includes variable first Zagreb, variable sum exdeg, multiplicative second Zagreb and Narumi-Katayama indices. Our main results provide upper and lower bounds for these topological indices on unicyclic graphs, fixing or not the maximum degree or the number of pendant vertices.
•We use Schur convexity to study, in a generalized way, upper and lower bounds for topological indices on unicyclic graphs.•We give sharp upper and lower bounds for variable first Zagreb index on unicyclic graphs.•We give sharp upper and lower bounds for variable sum exdeg index on unicyclic graphs.•We give sharp upper and lower bounds for the Narumi-Katayama indices on unicyclic graphs.
Emergency departments (ED) are frequently visited after suspected rabies exposure (SRE) and the potential need for rabies post-exposure prophylaxis (R-PEP). However, data on the number of visits, ...patients` demographics, travel history and the medical treatment is still rare. Therefore, the aim of this study was to assess the number of R-PEP and the appropriateness of medical management including wound treatment, vaccination regime and immunoglobulin application following SRE in a university hospital ED.
We conducted a monocentric retrospective observational study on emergency patients treated in the Emergency Department of the LMU University Hospital, Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich, Germany, between June 1st 2023 and January 31st 2024. Patients requiring post-exposure prophylaxis due to SRE abroad or in Germany were included. Demographic data, travel history, clinical findings, wound treatment, and R-PEP vaccination regimen were recorded.
During the observation period of 245 days 43 patients presented to our ED for R-PEP. There was a total of 51 presentation appointments, as 5 patients returned for further treatment. Most patients (27, 52.9%) presented at the ED on a Saturday, Sunday, or a public holiday. 17 (39.5%) patients had a category II exposure, and 26 (60.5%) had a category III exposure. In our ED, there were 28 (55.0%) active vaccinations and 23 (45.0%) both active and passive vaccinations.
Our data show that patients frequently present for R-PEP in ED. Therefore, there is a high need for education on indication for R-PEP and for implementation of precise R-PEP treatment guidelines in daily clinical practice.
In this paper, we obtain expressions for first and second Zagreb indices and coindices of block-edge transformation graphs G^{ab}. Analogous expressions are obtained also for the complements of ...G^{ab}.
A topological index is a number related to the atomic index that allows quantitative structure–action/property/toxicity connections. All the more vital topological indices correspond to certain ...physico-concoction properties like breaking point, solidness, strain vitality, and so forth, of synthetic mixes. The idea of the hyper Zagreb index, multiple Zagreb indices and Zagreb polynomials was set up in the substance diagram hypothesis in light of vertex degrees. These indices are valuable in the investigation of calming exercises of certain compound systems. In this paper, we computed the first and second Zagreb index, the hyper Zagreb index, multiple Zagreb indices and Zagreb polynomials of the line graph of wheel and ladder graphs by utilizing the idea of subdivision.
Izgradnja Zagrebačkog velesajma u Novom Zagrebu započela je krajem 1950-ih. Zajedničko obilježje Zagrebačkoga velesajma i Novoga Zagreba jest povezan i nedovršen urbanistički koncept. Zagrebački je ...velesajam prostorna razdjelnica Novoga Zagreba, ali i velik prostorni te sadržajni potencijal koji omogućava funkcionalnu i dijelom strukturnu preobrazbu svojih površina i građevina.
Graph theory has provided chemist with a variety of useful tools, such as topological indices. A topological index Top(G) of a graph G is a number with the property that for every graph H isomorphic ...to G, Top(H) = Top(G). In this article, we present exact expressions for some topological indices of carbon compound graphene. We compute first Zagreb index, second Zagreb index, first multiple Zagreb index, second multiple Zagreb index, augmented Zagreb index, harmonic index and hyper-Zagreb index of graphene. These are some topological indices based on degrees.
Prof. dr. sc.
Professor Ivo Horvat, a world-renowned Croatian scientist, botanist, and university teacher, was born in Čazma on October 7, 1897. After finishing the Classical Gymnasium in Zagreb in 1916, he graduated from the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Philosophy in 1920 and obtained his Ph.D. in botany on July 31, 1920. From his invaluable scientific and educational heritage, we have selected out for this occasion only a small part dedicated to the period from June 11, 1947 to April 23, 1963, in which Prof. Horvat worked at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Zagreb. He worked in a wide range of both natural and biomedical veterinary sciences: from systematic botany, ecology, and environmental protection to the study of phylogeny, floristic, and vegetation research, including vegetation mapping and scientific organizational work. Following the bibliographic and archival sources of the original documents, the given data represent a brief overview of Prof. Horvat’s contribution to phytocoenological work and an overview of scientific and educational heritage with an emphasis on the years spent at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Zagreb.
