This study examined the initial learning trajectories of 13 upper elementary teachers as they developed technological, pedagogical, and content knowledge (TPACK) while participating in a 7-month ...professional development program focused on integrating technology into their classroom practice. The program was collaborative and non-prescriptive: teachers worked on self-chosen summer projects with flexible support from a university-based partner. A descriptive multicase study design was employed to track teachers' learning progressions. Data included interviews, surveys, digital artifacts, and researchers' notes and memos. During the program, teachers developed varying degrees of TPACK. Analyses distilled six initial TPACK learning trajectories.
Purpose: This paper explores the various ways of promoting innovative activities adopted by the companies for raising their competitive positions among the industry based on the previous studies. ...Methods: A number of successful and mediocre cases of industries were reviewed carefully, and then the customized innovative model was established. Key categories and core elements were first identified for establishing progressive corporate culture and validated with the case of a company with multiple business areas. Results: The key categories were identified as strategic, systematic, human resources, and cultural aspects. The resulting core elements were consistent with those of the case company. Conclusion: Analyzing diverse product groups and companies with different organization culture, the key categories and core elements were derived and validated for companies to win the competitive position in the industry.
This case study is based on the experiences with the Electronic Journal of Information Technology in Construction (ITcon), founded in 1995. This journal is an example of a particular category of open ...access journals, which use neither author charges nor subscriptions to finance their operations, but rely largely on unpaid voluntary work in the spirit of the open source movement. The journal has, after some initial struggle, survived its first decade and is now established as one of half-a-dozen peer reviewed journals in its field. The journal publishes articles as they become ready, but creates virtual issues through alerting messages to "subscribers". It has also started to publish special issues, since this helps to attract submissions, and also helps in sharing the work-load of review management. From the start the journal adopted a rather traditional layout of the articles. After the first few years the HTML version was dropped and papers are only published in PDF format. The journal has recently been benchmarked against the competing journals in its field. Its acceptance rate of 53% is slightly higher and its average turnaround time of seven months almost a year faster compared to those journals in the sample for which data could be obtained. The server log files for the past three years have also been studied. Our overall experience demonstrates that it is possible to publish this type of OA journal, with a yearly publishing volume equal to a quarterly journal and involving the processing of some fifty submissions a year, using a networked volunteer-based organization.

본 연구에서는 한명의 여자 아마추어골프 선수를 대상으로 2년에 걸친 심리기술훈련의 적용효과를 알아보았다. 연구의 객관성을 위해, Orlick(1986a)의 멘탈플랜 모형과 김병준(2003a)의 단일사례연구를 토대로 심상, 루틴, 혼잣말, 호흡, 목표설정 등 기존의 심리중재기법과 이완, 집중력, 자신감, 자기관리, 수면패턴 등 선수맞춤형 심리기술훈련의 ...절차와 내용, 효과를 기술하였다. 심리기술훈련은 기초선과 처치선으로 나누어 실시한 내용을 기술하였으며, 기초선 4차 분기, 처치선 6차 분기 등 총 10차 분기의 내용을 다루었다. 심리기술훈련의 효과는 스포츠수행전략(Test of Performance Strategies, TOPS)검사와 자기관리행동 질문지를 통한 양적측정과 골프대회성적, 그리고 심층면담을 통한 문제점 해결로 나누어 알아보았다. 분석결과, 스포츠수행전략 검사에서는 5가지 요인 중 감정조절 요인이 가장 큰 향상을 보였으며, 자기관리행동 6개 요인은 약간의 차이는 있었으나 대체로 기초선과 처치선이 비슷한 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 2005년부터 2007년까지 골프대회성적을 비교한 결과 심리기술훈련 기간 중의 수행향상 흔적은 뚜렷하였으며, 기초선에서 제기되었던 주요 심리적문제도 처치선에서 심층면담을 통한 해결책 제시와 심리기술훈련의 응용프로그램으로 대부분 해소되었다.
The present study examines the effects of psychological skills training on golf performances of one amateur golf player for two years. The study is based on Orlick`s mental plan model and Kim`s case study for the development and implementation of procedures of the psychological skills training. The study describes psychological intervention technique including imagery, routine, self-talk, respiration, and goal-setting and also presents procedures, contents, and effects of a player-specific psychological skills training. The psychological skills training was divided into a baseline stage and a treatment stage and included four periods at the baseline stage and six periods at the treatment stage respectively. A single-subject multiple baseline design was employed to evaluate the effects of the psychological skills training. Questionnaires of Test of Performance Strategies (TOPS) and self-management behavior were employed in order to evaluate the effects. Depth-interviews at the base-line stage and the treatment-stage and tournament score were also used as instruments for the evaluation. Results of the study revealed that emotion control was the most improved factor according to TOPS, and factors consisting of the self-management behavior did not show significant differences between the baseline stage and the treatment stage. In addition, according to analyses of the subject`s tournament scores through 2005 to 2007, performances of the subject improved greatly during the psychological skills training. The psychological problems at the base-line stage were settled by solutions presented through the depth-interview at the treatment-stage and an applied program of psychological skills training.
Rad s učenicima s posebnim potrebama, prvenstveno rad s učenicima s autizmom vrlo je zahtjevan i iziskuje posebnu pripremu i edukaciju učitelja (i pomoćnika u nastavi). Strategije obrazovanja su ...poučavanje i učenje, strategija doživljavanja i izražavanja doživljenog, strategija vježbanja i strategija stvaranja. U aktivnoj nastavi se mogu primijeniti različiti postupci. Istraživanje se temelji na strategiji obrazovanja učenika s autizmom pomoću konkretnih primjera koristeći ABA metodu. Rezultati istraživanja provedeni s učenikom s autizmom pokazuju kako je učenik aktivnim učenjem, individualiziranim i prilagođenim programom, uspješno svladao četiri pojma u dva školska sata. Iako za ovo istraživanje nije bitna količina svladanog nastavnog sadržaja koje učenik može svladati u jednom ili dva školska sata, već dokazati da će učenik s autizmom više svladati nastavnog sadržaja uz aktivno učenje. Učenik je dobro reagirao na konkretne primjere voća (jabuka, kruška, banana, avokado, šipak, dinja, limun), pokazivao znakove veselja i zainteresiranosti dok na njemu tradicionalan način poučavanja i učenja (fotografijom) nije obraćao toliku pažnju na voće niti davao ikakve znakove veselja. Tijekom procjene poučavanja i učenja pokazivao je znakove umora i nezainteresiranosti. Uz ohrabrivanje i poticanje procjena je napravljena. Ovaj rad je ujedno analiza slučaja tijekom određenog razdoblja odnosno studija slučaja ili analiza slučaja.

Energy storage systems play an important role in smart-grids. In this paper, the authors are attempting to find out if the technology and the prices of the energy storage systems that are based on ...lead acid batteries are feasible for average households needs. The evaluation is done by studying a case of average residence in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and by using publicly available data from local energy agents. The usage and price of electricity are calculated and compared to the cost of adoption of energy storage system based on lead acid batteries. Then the optimal capacity of the required battery is calculated based on a type of contract that the residence has access to: traditional (flat rate) and flexible (time of use). The case of direct access to the energy market, by residence, is also analyzed.
This paper responds to Exploring the dynamism between propositional complexity and error rate: a case study by Jordan Van Horn (this issue). In her study, Jordan Van Horn analyzes asynchronous email ...exchanges between a native and nonnative speaker of English utilizing three methods of analysis: error analysis, complexity analysis, and qualitative analysis. In triangulating the data, the author states that this mixed-methods approach can offer a better solution to limitations that arise as a result of employing only one method to analyze performance data. Indeed, interlanguage data often exhibits patterns of variability in complexity and accuracy in L2 learners (Spoelman & Verspoor, 2010). In order to better account for this variability and enhance our understanding of second language acquisition (SLA), the author incorporated Complex Dynamic Systems Theory (CDST) to guide her analysis. CDST facilitates the unification of the three methods of analysis since it posits L2 language as exhibiting the characteristics of complex systems and L2 language development as one that involves natural flux and variation (Verspoor, Lowie & van Dijk, 2008). A major contribution of this study was Van Horn’s finding of connected growers between complexity and accuracy. The CDST construct “connected growers” is defined by the author as linguistic subsystems that develop symbiotically as they interact. In other words, linguistic subsystems such as complexity and accuracy were found to have a positive correlation. This finding has major implications not only for our understanding of complex dynamic systems, but also, of SLA in particular, as during L2 linguistic performance, complexity and accuracy often compete with each other for cognitive resources and positive correlations between these two areas have been less common in the literature (Skehan, 2009).
