The aim of this article is to critically analyze and evaluate scientific publication concerning the Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA), written by Jonathan A. Smith, Paul Flowers and ...Michael Larkin (2009), in the context of the potential of using the approach in pedagogy and also in andragogy. IPA is used more often by representatives of the humanities, social sciences, and health sciences, but so far no attempt was made to introduce this approach to pedagogy-andragogy in which hermeneuticphenomenological perspective has already been used.
The article presents issues relating to agricultural counselling as a form of out-of-school adult agricultural education in Poland in 1956–1970. In that time agricultural counselling was provided ...mainly by communal agronomists, instructors of National Councils and farmers’ associations. The press of that time informed about effects of farmers’ work, objectives and contents given to them, sometimes giving detailed information about agronomic services relating to counselling. Scientific monographs, textbooks and manuals developing the knowledge about counselling were also published. Some of those works were written by the best experts on agricultural andragogy of that time.
2018 marks the 25th anniversary of establishing Academic Andragogic Society (in Polish: Akademickie Towarzystwa Andragogiczne, abbrev.: ATA), a countrywide social research entity. The article recalls ...its origin, history, organizational transformations and the most important trends in its activity over the past quarter of a century.The author also tries to assess the achievements of the Academic Andragogic Society in its most significant areas set at the beginning of its operation. The article is an interesting contribution to the history and practice of Polish adult education and the social research movement in social sciences in the Third Republic of Poland.
The purpose of this article is to explore the meaning of biographical research in the context of discussions of collective biography to do with the history of andragogy. The typology of biography and ...the examples of the collective biographies – with particular emphasis on the science of education – is discussed, based observations concerning the methodology of biographical research on general. In the final part of the text the proposals of people strictly associated with andragogy are presented, as they should be recorded in the dictionary Polish angragogues.

life experience, the learning process, and biography. Not only do the scholars notice the educational potential of individual life experience (learning in one’s life), but they also see the value of reflection on biography, which becomes the source of biographical learning. The
present paper constitutes a voice in the discussion on learning and biography. The presented information pertains to such subjects as: understanding biography in the andragogical perspective, the biographical learning process. The entirety of the deliberations in concluded
with a reflection on the relationship between the learning process and biography.
Socio-political changes after 1989 created new opportunities for the development of adult education. At that time, the condition of education was largely determined by economic factors. The ongoing ...economic neoliberalism has raised a lot of criticism of the market economy, including socio-humanistic terms. Since 2008, that is, in the period of economic crisis, market dominated various areas of human life spoiling values that had been considered as essential elements of the functioning of individuals and groups. Today, economics has become a study of human interaction, addressing the issue of stimuli and incentives and entering the area of the interests of education sciences. This situation is a challenge for andragogy as a sub-discipline of pedagogy on which lies the duty of taking care of the values, formulating social policies and evaluating their implementation.
