In practical situations, athletes often face certain limitations in the transition to finswimming. Consequently, coaching procedures focus on the conversion of trained-swimmers into finswimming ...athletes. This study aimed to conduct a comparative analysis of the anthropometric characteristics, aerobic capacity, and respiratory capacity of athletes engaged in finswimming and those trained in traditional swimming. Fifteen male finswimming athletes and trained-swimmers aged 18-19 years participated in the study. They performed a progressive maximal treadmill test under laboratory conditions for measuring their aerobic capacities. Respiratory capacity was measured using spirometer, while body fat percentage was measured using GE Lunar Prodigy DXA. The result showed that the finswimming athletes had statistically higher values of aerobic capacity and respiratory capacity compared to trained-swimmers. Meanwhile, trained-swimmers had statistically higher values of body fat percentage compared to finswimming athletes. Based on these findings, we conclude that finswimmers exhibit a pronounced advantage in aerobic capacity, body fat, and respiratory capacity. While certain parameters, notably respiratory and aerobic capacities, demonstrated marked disparities between the two cohorts, other elements showcased a parallel nature. This conveys the potential for trained swimmers, as identified in this study, to ascend to the levels of athletes by adopting analogous structured training schedules and nutritional regimes akin to those observed in finswimmers.

Auricular reconstruction is a technically challenging and aesthetically demanding procedure as the ear has a complex anatomy. Anthropometry aids in achieving aesthetic ear reconstruction. We ...considered that implication of stereophotogrammetric technology will lead to a better understanding of human ear morphology.
A cross-sectional study was conducted in our institutional OPD in a tertiary health care centre in the Northern part of India.400 people were chosen based on selection criteria. facial scans were done for 3D pictures using Canfield VECTRA® H2 3D imaging device. Study variables were assessed after marking landmarks on the 3D-generated auricular image of an individual.
This study consisted of 55.5% males and 44.5% females belonging to the age group of 5–25 years (30.3%), 26–40 years (38.8%) and>40 yr (31.0%). Out of 400 cases, the majority had; oval shaped auricle, normally rolled helix, square earlobe; knob shaped tragus. The attached type of earlobe attachment was more in the right auricle (37%) and the partial attachment ear lobe was more in the left side auricle (35.5%). Darwin's tubercle showed more proportion in the case of males. The mean length and width of the auricle & attachment length are higher in males compared to females. Ear Angulation is highest among females.
Assessment of ear morphology using technologically sound methods like stereophotogrammetry paves the way for a more quick, reliable and easy-to-use method for understanding ear morphology. Precise assessment of ear morphology using stereophotogrammetry helps in providing more cosmetic and acceptable ear restoration.

Anthropometric features are important in determining gender and ethnic groups. The aim of this 3D photogrammetric study was to assess the face of Senegalese subjects.
A total of 104 3D facial ...photographs taken with the Bellus 3D application were studied. Measurements were taken at various anthropometric points using Meshlab software. The acquired data were recorded and processed using Jamovi software version 1.8.4.0. Correlations between the quantitative variables were tested and only one with a significance of p 0.05 was retained.
Overall, measured distances were higher in men. A statistically significant difference between men and women was found for nose width (p0. 001), face width (p < 0.005) and face height (p0. 0002). Conclusion: 3D anthropometric analysis shows a fairly significant sexual dimorphism, with males having greater facial and nasal proportions. A leptoprosopic (long) facial shape and a mesorrhine nose were maintained.
Body composition assessment via 3-dimensional optical (3DO) scanning has emerged as a rapid and simple evaluation method. The aim of this study was to establish the precision of body composition ...estimates from four commercially available 3DO scanners and evaluate their validity as compared to a reference 4-component (4C) model.
The body composition of 171 participants was assessed using four commercially-available 3DO scanners (FIT3D®, Naked Labs®, Size Stream®, and Styku®) and a 4C model utilizing data from dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry, air displacement plethysmography, and bioimpedance spectroscopy. Body composition estimates were compared via equivalence testing, Deming regression, Bland–Altman analysis, concordance correlation coefficients (CCC), root mean square error (RMSE), and related metrics. Precision metrics, including the root mean square coefficient of variation (RMS-%CV), precision error, and intraclass correlation coefficient, were generated for duplicate scans in 139 participants.
All scanners produced reasonably reliable estimates, with RMS-%CV of 2.3–4.3% for body fat percentage (BF%), 2.5–4.3% for fat mass (FM), and 0.7–1.4% for fat-free mass (FFM). ICC values ranged from 0.975 to 0.996 for BF% and 0.990 to 0.999 for FM and FFM. All scanners except Styku® demonstrated equivalence with 4C, using 5% equivalence regions, and constant errors of <1% for BF% and ≤0.5 kg for FM and FFM. However, the slopes of regression lines differed from the line of identity for most scanners and variables. CCC values ranged from 0.74 to 0.90 for BF%, 0.85 to 0.95 for FM, and 0.93 to 0.97 for FFM. RMSE values ranged from 3.7 to 6.1% for BF% and 2.8–4.6 kg for FM and FFM. Bland–Altman analysis indicated proportional bias of varying magnitudes was present for all scanners.
Commercially available 3DO scanners produce relatively reliable body composition estimates. Three out of four scanners demonstrated equivalence with a 4C model for assessments of BF%, FM, and FFM, although other metrics of validity varied among scanners, and proportional bias was present for all scanners.

To determine the physical and physiological profiles of a group of semi-professional soccer and investigate the impact of individualized endurance and strength exercise training on these parameters. Twenty-eight players carried out an incremental treadmill, sprint, jump and half squat test and followed an individualized training regime. The training led to an improvement in both cardiorespiratory and explosive parameters. Fitness training in football players should be specific and quantifiable to improve athletic qualities.
Purpose
Non-invasive three-dimensional (3D) stereophotogrammetry is becoming increasingly popular in many fields. However, few studies have focused on its periocular application. We aimed to provide ...evidence for the periocular application of a novel anthropometric procedure using 3D stereophotogrammetry by evaluating its reliability.
Methods
Fifty-one Caucasians were recruited (102 eyes; mean age, 31.9 ± 13.6 years). Two sets of 3D images were acquired for each subject, and two measurement sessions were performed on each image by two raters. Fifty-two periocular landmarks were identified, and then 49 corresponding linear, curvilinear, and angular measurements were evaluated for intrarater, interrater, and intramethod reliability.
Results
Our findings showed highly reliable results for mean absolute difference (0.59 and 0.68 unit), relative error measurement (2.66% and 3.08%), technical error of measurement (0.59 and 0.66 unit), relative technical error of measurement (2.71% and 2.96%), and intraclass correlation coefficient (0.98) for intrarater 1 and intrarater 2 reliability; respectively 0.94 unit, 4.06%, 0.89 unit, and 3.94%, as well as 0.97 for interrater reliability; and respectively 0.98 unit, 4.66%, 0.96 unit, and 4.64%, as well as 0.96 for intramethod reliability.
Conclusions
This imaging system and the landmark identification protocol are highly reliable. The collected measurements and their errors can be applied for the comparison of reliability among various 3D imaging systems and populations. It could be utilized for planning surgeries and evaluating treatment outcomes for physicians in ophthalmology, plastic and esthetic surgery, and in the maxillofacial field where periocular morphology alterations are made.
Evaluation of body composition is an important part of assessing nutritional status and provides prognostically useful data and an opportunity to monitor the effects of nutrition‐related disease ...progression and nutritional intervention. The aim of this narrative review is to critically evaluate body composition methodology in adults, focusing on anthropometric variables. The variables considered include height, weight, body mass index and alternative indices, trunk measurements (waist and hip circumferences and sagittal abdominal diameter) and limb measurements (mid‐upper arm and calf circumferences) and skinfold thickness. The importance of adhering to a defined measurement protocol, checking measurement error and the need to interpret measurements using appropriate population‐specific cut‐off values to identify health risks were highlighted. Selecting the optimum method for assessing body composition using anthropometry depends on the purpose (i.e. evaluating obesity or undernutrition) and requires practitioners to have a good understanding of both practical and theoretical limitations and to be able to interpret the results wisely.
The purpose of this study was to determine the direct and indirect effects of anthropometry, eye hand coordination and concentration on petanque pointing skills. The research method is quantitative ...associative, with the test and non-test techniques, while the analysis technique used path analysis. The data is tested by using a distribution list and histogram. Central measures include the mean, median and mode. The spread indicators include variance and standard deviation, regression estimation error testing using the Liliefors technique and variance homogeneity testing using the Barlett test technique. The subject in this study were 50 athletes in North Sumatra with saturated sampling technique. The results of the assessment obtained anthropometric significant value for concentration with a significant value in (0.280), eye coordination - hand to concentration in (0.373), anthropometry to pointing skills in (0.013), eye coordination-hand to pointing skills in (0.443), concentration to pointing skills in (0.000).
