V prispevku etimološko razčlenjujemo romanske leksikalne izposojenke v dveh šavrinskih besedilih, ki smo jih zapisali v Novi vasi nad Dragonjo in Padni, in sicer med dialektološkimi terenskimi ...raziskavami, v okviru katerih smo poleg besedišča zapisovali tudi pregovore, pesmi in pripovedi v narečju. V slovenski Istri domačini govorijo poleg šavrinske različice istrskega narečja tudi rižansko podnarečje, oba različka sta prisotna le v zaledju slovenskih obalnih mest. Romanizmi v istrskoslovenskem narečju so posledica interference z istrskobeneškim narečjem (v novejšem času tudi s standardno italijanščino), saj je bilo romansko (obmorsko) narečje do nedavnega glavni istrski sporazumevalni jezik.
A terahertz Eight-/Nine-/Twelve-/Fourteen-/Sixteen-Band Metamaterial Absorber (MMA) for sensing applications is built and simulated. The substrate is sandwiched between the bottom ground plane and ...the top patch structure of this primitive MMA. The top patch is made up of two concentric circular ring resonators. This structure generates a multiple number of multi bands without utilising stacked layers, multiple resonators, or overlapping in a single unit cell by altering the radius of the top patch structure within the shorter frequency range of 0.8 THz to 1.2 THz. The polarisation and angle insensitivity properties are investigated by shifting the angle values from 0 to 90 degrees. To learn about the inside mechanism of the planned structure, the magnetic field distribution, electric field distribution and surface current distribution plots are explained. For the sixteen-band MMA, the Q-Factor and full width half maximum are also determined. This proposed MMA will be used in biosensing applications, sensors and wireless communications.
The COVID-19 pandemic came with a flux of new words, terminologies, and phrases, which led to the rapid coinage or neologisms in the world's different languages. These lexical innovations may take ...place within one language as well as with the combination of two different languages. Therefore, this paper scrutinizes coroneologisms and word-formation processes in Hindi-English code-mixed words. Such a phenomenon happened due to the acceptance of English by Indians besides their mother tongue which makes them bilingual. The data were gathered from newspapers, blogs, social media, TV news, etc. Next, the linguistic analysis of the data revealed different types of word classes in Hindi-English codemixed words such as compounding, affixation, blending, and reduplication. Out of these, compounding and borrowing were reported as the most productive types of coroneologisms in Hindi-English code-mixed words.
Traditional roll technologies focus solely on the contour of the roll gap at the outlet under ideal conditions. However, upon roll crossing, the three-dimensional distribution of the deformation zone ...becomes asymmetrical, leading to an adverse impact on the rolling pressure in the deformation zone. To study the screw-down load deviation of plate mills, it is necessary to accurately calculate the equivalent three-dimensional roll gap in the deformation zone under roll-crossing conditions. In this paper a model for calculating the equivalent three-dimensional roll gap under the conditions of roll crossing and no load was established based on the method of the coordinate nonlinear transformation of the spatial rectangular coordinate system. Based on this model, the influences of roll-crossing angles and translation parameters on the symmetry of the equivalent three-dimensional roll gap were analyzed. The distribution of the three-dimensional equivalent roll gap was calculated with different roll lengths, roll radii, and the roll gap’s nominal thickness. The intuitive contour map reveals that under the same condition of crossing angle and translation parameters, the larger the roll length and roll radii and the smaller the roll gap’s nominal thickness are, the greater the influence of the roll crossing on the asymmetrical distribution of roll gap is. It put forward a quantitative calculation method for evaluating the symmetrical distribution of the roll gap, and the calculation results can provide the equivalent roll profile for the roll-deformation model.
Prispevek izhaja iz obravnav podrejanja novinarstva kapitalistični nujnosti »racionalizacije« delovnega procesa s tehnološkimi inovacijami. Nadaljevanje teh teženj je uveljavljanje algoritmov z ...namenom dopolnjevanja, razširjanja ali zamenjevanja novinarskega dela s tehnologijo. Apoteoza tega procesa je avtomatizirano novinarstvo, četudi predvsem dopolnjuje uveljavljeno produkcijo novic. Polemike o avtomatizaciji odpirajo zahtevna vprašanja, kaj in kako vemo z novinarstvom ter kako je ta vednost utemeljena. V avtomatiziranem novinarstu sta konstrukcija "objektivnih" dejstev in njena jezikovna igra pogojeni ne le z združevanjem tehnologije in človeške dejavnosti, temveč tudi z razdruževanjem tehnološke "objektivnosti" in človeške subjektivnosti. Proces upodatkovljenja dejstvenosti tako veljavo črpa iz algoritemske presoje, ki je skoncentrirana v načelu legitimacije skozi hipno in merodajno izvedbo. Zgodovinska načela »objektivnega« novinarstva se s tem preobražajo.
V prispevku je predstavljen pilotni projekt digitalizacije slovarjev prevzetih besed, ki vključuje tudi slovarski del monografije Slovenische Lehnwörter im Deutschen avtorice Hildegard ...Striedter-Temps. Opisane so značilnosti tiskanega slovarskega dela monografije. Slovar ima specifično sestavo, in sicer gre za kompilacijo sekundarnih virov, navedenih in organiziranih v slovarskih člankih, avtoričin prispevek pa je predvsem v komentiranju jezikovnih podatkov in v popravkih napačnih etimoloških in drugih razlag ter navedb določenih avtorjev. Na kratko je opisano tudi tehnično ozadje digitalizacije portala z ročno delno digitalizacijo seznama besed navedenega slovarja.
V današnjem času zaradi globalizacije občutimo velik pritisk besed, ki prihajajo v slovenščino iz tujih jezikov, predvsem iz angleščine. Že prej si je morala slovenščina ustvariti svoj prostor med ...jeziki z veliko več govorci. Danes se ob hitrem razvoju tehnologije in nastajanju novih ved pojavljajo novi globalni izrazi, za katere težko najdemo domače ustreznice, preden se uveljavijo tuje besede. Mnogi odrasli ne dohajajo hitrega širjenja informacij in ne razumejo najbolje novega besedišča, ki se uveljavlja na spletnih straneh in družbenih omrežjih. Razumejo kontekst, v katerem se izraz pojavi, vendar ne poznajo njegovega natančnega pomena. V skrbi za svoj jezik bi se morali kljub močnim pritiskom globalizacije več izražati s slovenskimi izrazi, ki so Slovencem še vedno najbolj razumljivi.

The wedge-shaped writing was used to ...write ten to fifteen languages from various language families: Sumerian, Elamite, Eblaite, Old Assyrian, Old Babylonian and other Akkadian dialects, Proto-Hattic, Hittite, Luwian, Palaic, Hurrian, Urartian, Ugaritic, Old Persian etc. Over the centuries it evolved from a pictographic to a syllabographic writing system and eventually became an alphabetic script, but most languages used a 'mixed orthography' which combined ideographic and phonetic elements, and required a rebus principle of reading.
