Bihor County has a long tradition in the therapeutic use of thermal waters. Except for the established spa resorts Felix, 1 Mai and Tinca, the study focuses on capitalizing on the spa potential in ...the country side. The objective of this study is to highlight the evolution and the therapeutic and recreational valorization of the spa factor in rural localities, not included in the state balneo-tourism management plan before 1989, nor in the network of the relevant ministry from the years after this date. The paper inventories the sources of geothermal water at the scale of Bihor county that were the object of individual or collective local valorization, at the level of villages or communes. The geological prospecting works and the special drillings carried out in the period 1960-1970 with the aim of identifying oil or natural gas deposits, sometimes highlighted important geothermal resources, many of them, being interpreted and exploited ad hoc by the rural population for the purpose spa. The paper analyzes how the phenomenon of therapeutic valorization of thermal waters in Bihoren villages developed and evolved, as well as the impact on the social-economic environment. It also assesses the rural development forecasts presented in the strategic development projects at the level of some communes, regarding the exploitation of geothermal waters.

Background & aims: Mother’s milk plays an important role in infant’s health. The aim of this study was to determine the breastfeeding status and some of its related factors among children less than 5 ...year old, in northern countryside of Iran. Material & Methods: This descriptive cross-sectional and retrospective study was done on 2520 children aged 6-60 months (1309=males and 1211=females) chosen by cluster and random sampling from 20 of 118 villages of Golestan provience. Data was collected by questionnaire and anthropometric measurements were performed. Duration of breastfeeding was computed only for over 24 months old children. Data was analyzed using SPSS-PC (v.16). Results: The mean duration of exclusive breast-feeding was 5.59 months and 66.4% of children had exclusive breast-feeding at least for 6 months. Although exclusive breast-feeding period in Turkmen ethnic group was lower than others, breastfeeding duration in this group was higher than other ethnic groups. Five months of exclusive Breast-feeding in Fars (native) group was 14.6% more than Turkman ethnic group (P=0.001). Exclusive breast-feeding period significantly increased with maternal education level(P=0.004).The mean time of breastfeeding was 20.6 months and 89.3% and 74.7% of children breastfed at least 18 and 24 months, respectively. Duration of lactation was positively correlated with family size, birth order, maternal age and the children’s nutritional status (p<0.05). Conclusion: Two thirds of children in Gorgan countryside enjoy exclusive breastfeeding for at least 6 months. Some socio-economic factors influence the pattern of breast feeding.

This article raises the territorial transformation of the Anet canton (Eure-et-Loir) at the North end of the Eure-et-Loire and the Region Centre. This territory is subject to the increasing ...attraction of the big cities of the Bassin Parisien. This attraction comes from cities external to its territorial heritage : from Eure (Haute-Normandie) and mainly from Yvelines (Ile-de-France). Several indicators outline this process : intermunicipal reorganisation, inhabitant’s mobility, peri-urbanisation of burgs, villages, etc. The defence of the countryside is very active ; even if the agriculture has lost its economic links at a local level, its space is considered more and more as a Parisian countryside. The analysis is based essentially on the votes counting of the canton villages during the last thirty years and on several interviews conducted beyond several farmers. The Anet canton constitutes an illustration of the emergence of new « urban countrysides», of their territorial dynamics, and the challenges faced by the local actors.
El servicio de mensajería radial "Mensajes para el campo", constituye uno de los elementos más arraigados en la identidad social y cultural en la región de Magallanes. Se origina en los inicios de la ...radio en los años veinte y se estableció como un canal de comunicación entre las áreas urbanas y rurales de la región. Este tipo de mensajes, muestra elementos propios del mundo rural patagónico, así como de la cultura que rodea el mundo estanciero (Martinic y Buratovic, 2007). El presente artículo analiza los elementos lingüísticos que remiten al contexto de situación; dado que éste se expresa mediante elementos textuales que definen un determinado tipo de discurso (Halliday, 1975, Beaugrande y Dressler, 1997; Renkema, 1999; Alvarez, 2004). Entre las conclusiones principales, en los textos analizados se observa la presencia de deícticos "de ocultamiento de información" que remiten a personas, lugares y situaciones ausentes, propios de una situación discursiva que exige al productor de estos discursos desarrollar una serie de estrategias discursivas caracterizadoras de este tipo de mensajes. Finalmente, se destaca que "Los Mensajes para el campo" tienen características textuales propias y definidas, que reflejan no sólo particularidades de la región, en cuanto a la función social que ellos cumplen, sino además porque forman parte de la historia de las comunicaciones, espacios radiales que aún persisten y que distinguen a la comunidad de habla magallánica y de la radiofonía de las regiones apartadas en la Patagonia.
Ce « retour aux origines » éclaire les conditions d’émergence des principales notions qui ont contribué à la formation de la sociologie rurale en France. Il s’inscrit dans le contexte de la ...modernisation des campagnes à laquelle la sociologie a été confrontée et qui a orienté ses choix théoriques et méthodologiques. Nous traiterons ici de la période 1945-1967, qui va de la reconstruction d’après-guerre à la publication de La fin des paysans d’Henri Mendras, ouvrage qui marque un aboutissement dans la constitution du corpus de la sociologie rurale. Ce corpus associe en effet une analyse de l’existence et des spécificités d’un monde rural distinct de la « société englobante » et une analyse du changement social dans les campagnes. Nous distinguerons deux phases successives. La première correspond à l’émergence de ce champ disciplinaire né du volontarisme modernisateur d’après-guerre et de logiques académiques encore largement inscrites dans la division ville/campagne chère aux agrariens et à la IIIe République. La seconde phase voit la sociologie rurale, gagnée par les approches culturalistes, élargir ses perspectives en s’investissant, aux côtés de l’ethnologie et de la géographie, dans le travail d’inventaire des sociétés rurales, avec pour objectif d’en construire une typologie.
